  • RULE BRITANNIA!

  • I love this. So beautiful in itself and so beautiful to see ppl love their flag and country. Makes me wish i was a brit!

  • This should be the UK anthem!!!! God save the queen is boring imo....

  • ABSOLUTELY OUTSTANDING!!

  • LONG LIVE BRITANNIA!!!

  • Let this message go to all muslims!!

  • RULE BRITANNIA!!

  • Rule Britannia. As an island united we stand, and we ruled the earth as a united people.

  • @rehtep69 I think many forget we're an island, these days.

  • 'britannia rule the waves', we still do, we have the greatest navy in Europe and one of the greatest in the world. Just a shame we only rule a collection of islands now.

  • @Christopher9867

Not really. You realise our fleet is shared with France, right?

French navy are pathetic. They can have land troops yes, but mostly England is the top dog at Navy.

  • such an awesome song makes me feel proud to brittish for once.

i think they should make this the national anthem so much better than god save the queen

  • you britains are awesome if we germans would do something everybody would scream "whhhaaaaa nazis sieg heil"

  • @VicMcMuffin

What are you referring to? the song? if so it's a very old song sung for a few centuries.

  • Comment removed

  • @TigerMilitia i dont mean this bad patriotism is good but its true that if we germans dot it everybody calles us nazis

  • @VicMcMuffin

seeing as Germany is protecting a Nazi called "K.Faber" I would kind-of call the Government nazis. However, mostly I'd agree with killing Jews. They're extremely ignorant and rather insultive towards other people.

  • Brittania is in India...not England.

  • @tourkolkata England basically is India now

  • Rule Britannia! Britannia rules the waves... [Joan Higgins, 66, was fined $1,506, ordered to wear an ankle monitor and given a seven-week curfew as punishment for selling a goldfish to a 14-year-old boy sent into the store by police on a (sting operation). Higgins' son, Mark, 47, was fined $1,300 and ordered to complete 120 hours of community service.] ...Britons never, never, never will be slaves.

  • FUCK YOU ENGLAND WITH YOUR BEAUTIFUL COUNTRY RICH WITH HISTORY! FUCK THE QUEEN! AND FUCK TEA AND CRUMPETS! Gawd dame it! IT ISN'T FAIR!

  • @Whatsmahpasswurd, if gawd dame it is meant to be a britiish accent, it sounds more australian, and btw, crumpets taste of shit and the chinese drink more tea than the british

  • @JPsSuperStairway random fact: what everyone calls 'crumpets' are actually called 'pikelets' secondly the British drink more tea per capita than anyone else :)

  • Well said, fellow!

  • They should play this to are MPs in parliament every sitting and to the tower anyone of them who mentions europe and its take over of our once great nation!

  • integralistparty . com

    JOIN THE STRUGGLE

  • This is amazing.

  • What an awesome nation. The definition of Empire. Too bad we had to rebel against them - Oh well; siblings fight.

  • @Imperator88vis In the immortal words of homer simpson: America is Britains child, even if you dont call as much as you should, or behave as well as your goody-two shoes brother canada, we still love you. But in all seriousness, every war Britain and the Usa have united for, we have just ragged everyone

  • God, its great to see people proud of their country. Beautiful...

  • bloody hell iv'e just come over all patriotic

  • I'm American and I loved this song. Iplay it over and over while jogging. It sturs of imagines of ships on the seas. I find the British to be so interesting, however, I don't know why they love tea so much.

  • its yummy :]

  • lol

  • when is something troubling u or solving a probelm in work, have a cup of tea so put the kettle on! what about another image of britain, my local forrest is the famous sherwood home of robin hood.

  • lol Thanks i'll rememeber that :)

  • @lamarjlp914 it tastes really nice :)

  • @lamarjlp914

It's a secret..Tea gives us vigor and strength and the will to do what must be done..it's how we conquered such a vast empire..but shh it's our secret... ;)

Keep an eye on your coastline for ships..we'll return one day... :D

  • @TigerMilitia kind of like popeye and his spinach lol

  • @lamarjlp914

    That's stereotypical. We don't really.

If you want to be stereotypical I could say most Americans love crack.

However if you want to be TRUTHFUL i find Americans to be mostly smart, and most people I meet are quite funny.

However we've got shared humours. England has more of a Monty Python type of humour, while America isn't interested in so many "reality" shows but likes Family guy, etc.

Although to be fair most stuff USA releases (e.g. Family guy, American dad) is awesome.

  • @lamarjlp914 Becuase it's Tasty :3

  • If this was our National Anthem it might put some pride in our watered-down, ashamed of our past, liberal-leftie nation. I can't believe that the left-leaning BBC even let this song be broadcast!

  • this should be britains national anthem

  • Yeah, I suppose atleast it doesn't include any racism and I'm not even scotish.

  • I agree, this song pays tribute to the British people as opposed to the current one that pays tribute to one person.

  • Britons never will be slaves! We of the brotherhood of the English speaking world have never known tyrants. We will not abide tyrants.

    May God bless us all.

We, the Americans, British, Canadians, Australians, Jamaicans, South Africans and our other brothers aren't perfect, but we're honestly working on it. That, my friends, is what makes us special.

For everyone else: it's a very good idea not to mess about with us. We are not good enemies.

  • Nice 1 lunadeath i love all things American and British we are one what a great song and of course played beautifly by the royal orchestra well done makes my hair stand on end bravo!!!

  • I am American, but I love British things and I really enjoy this song. It's so powerful and really gets to ya. Long time fan of british comedy, dramas, music, etc. And will continue to be. :) *love to all Brits*

  • That's good to hear lunadeath, god bless both the US and Great Britain!

  • Last night of the prawns !

  • Rule Britannia!

  • OK; your extreme example of "two" vs "too" means you at least know what you're talking about..! But I've never claimed to be a master of the Queen's English! That is a British domain. I am fairly proficient, however... :)) Why the hell are you attacking me anyway? Not enough spotted dick today?? I like this piece!

  • You use "ou" too much when "o" would do just fine! LOL

  • Maybe. However, there is slight difference in pronunciation between labour and labor, for example, just like there is a difference between four and for, two an to and even too. But I presume you are from the US, so you would have no idea.

  • Lighten up man; I was joking!

  • Oh dear, never mind, how sad. I really hope I did not push you into a depression? If I did , try Prozac. Believe it or not, I merely tried to enlighten you. Guess I did not entirely succeed in my well meant .....joke. However, The difference between US and British English is getting bigger and bigger. And that is no humour, or humor, or whatever.

  • Pink Floyd failed.

  • Nice to still see real culture... maybe we're not done for after all.

  • May God and her majesty be with you

  • dont get more british than this.

  • Stephen Fry belting this out.

    Thats the absolute limit.

  • Shutup you Yankee fool, Your people have no idea of Culture, Literature, Television or Music, Ok in terms of spelling Imean seriously, Colour, Honour, Valour, Odour, Favourite, Flavour!

  • Videos like this make you proud to be British !

    Rule Britannia

    Hearts Fc #1

  • this brought a lump to my throaght

  • Thanks....I'll presume that this must be the origin of American high school dances called proms, too. And, I guess the origin of "The Star Spangled Banner" would have to be a drinking song since you'd have to be half in the bag to hit the high notes.

  • I think most Americans recognize the melody, if not the words. It has a hymn like quality. Reminds me of a song we sang in my Lutheran church by Hayden called "Glorious Things of Thee Are Spoken" which was also the tune for "Deutschland, Deutschland Ueber Alles.

  • Yes, I think I might have heard that hymn before. It's not unusual for anthems to steal their melodies from hymns or other songs either, it's pretty well-known that the music of 'The Star Spangled Banner' was an old boozing song from the 1700s..

  • Didn't know about "The Star Spangled Banner"...thanks for that little nugget of info. Also what does "Last Night of the Proms" mean?

  • There's a series of concerts called 'promenades' (because way back when there was a space for the audience to walk around during the show) and the last one is traditionally the biggest.

  • one thing: it isn't deutschland, deutschland über alles...it once was, in the early years...but now it's Einigkeit und recht und freiheit.

anyway: the name of the song is deutschlandlied:-)

  • Thanks....I didn't know that. I was a German major in college, but that was over 40 years ago and I haven't kept up.

  • ah, don't mind it:-D i'm a smartarse sometimes:-D

but if i read deutschland, deutschland über alles...it has a bad taste because of the years 1933-1945...yeah...i'm little pedantic, too:-D

  • The first verse is Deutschland, Deutschland über alles, but the third verse (which is the official anthem) is Einigkeit und recht und freiheit.

Contrary to popular belief, no verse is forbidden to be sung, but only the third verse is official.

  • @toftmf just read your comments, how can you say that Rule Britania could remind you of Deutschland Deutschland Ueber Alles ? for one the beat is nothing like the same . socondly it's like saying that the star spangled banner sounds similar to Kimigayo. think about it !

  • @ramsmad1963 Different people generate different thoughts when hearing different pieces of music. The two songs might sound similar from his POV which you might not have considered, and I don't think there's really a right/wrong when it comes to music. As for the comparison between Star Spangled Banner and Kimigayo..I'd say that's a false analogy because one's an Asian song and the other, American.

  • @toftmf On a sidenote here: Could I hereby ask the world to FINALLY get it's fudging facts straight? It's either -deutschland lied- or german national anthem AND in both cases the first and second verse are prohibited, plainly FORBIDDEN to be performed in germany.

  • @lilmaibe

The first and second verses of "Das Lied der Deutschen" or "Deutschlandlied", the national anthem of Germany, are not prohibited in Germany. In official occasions the third verse is usually supposed to be sang.

  • @wovaapeli I live in germany. Last time i checked they were prohibited

  • @lilmaibe

You should check their present status.
