Hello my friends, I am from Mexico, and believe me, the church with is one of the most outstanding bands for the ones that like the good music in Mexico...
No shit. To all of you tossers who can only make "witty" comments about the lead singer's waistline, perhaps your skinny asses can sing this 80's classic as well as he can. No?? He could lose weight if he really wanted to, can you gain his vocal prowess as much as you would like to? Yeah, didn't think so....
@duncanstpt 30 years ago - yes 30! - I think most women would agree they were one of the best looking group of blokes around and making music so cool that tho they never charted big they can still pack a large hall to this day. Need I also mention their music was completely out of step with their time but they persevered and led a light for many to follow. Integrity. They had that too.
I was really disappointed to see that they did not use an Ebow live for the "bagpipe" sound in the solo. That bit gave the song so much more character on the studio album.
seacry70 -- Peter DOES use an ebow for the solo here (at 2:05 he takes it from someone off stage, plays a bit and then tosses it towards the back at approx.2:39, then he takes it again 3:26 and uses it until the end of the song). The solo you hear on the studio version of the song on Starfish is an African bagpipe piece run backwards through a synclavier.
@indraeek I went back and watched in full screen. Sure enough at 2:05 he is handed an Ebow. He pays his solo and then tosses it. It does not have the typical sound that an ebow usually produces (at least that I am familiar with). I have always thought that is how he got the bagpipe sound. Thanks.
Midnight Oil is another Australia group that had one U.S. Top 40: Beds are Burning. Unlike The Church, Midnight Oil disbanded and reunited occasionally. The lead singer is now a political activist.
I remember them and also INXS for sure, I met them in St Petersburg Florida in the 80`s and a friend of mine told me Michael Hudgens ordered cookies and milk for dinner in a 5 star restaurant...lol
@robert0414 : Australia has put out so many outstanding bands that's it's hard even to narrow it down for me. Thankfully because of the fairly large Aussie presence in NYC, we're lucky enough to be able to catch quite a few Aussie acts, sometimes even in the smaller venues, which ya just can't beat! So much great music, so little time! Anyway, glad you liked the digivid. This is one of my fave songs by them.
they played here recently and I missed them, sorry to have. Thanks for the post! This was our fave song to listen to a night while camping in the Outback.... under the Milky Way! listening to "under the Milky Way"!

Looking at the singer's waistline, I think he has been Under the Milky Way candy bars.

@duncanstpt funny, but you're still a wanker!!!! I can't wait to see when you get our age

Todo esto es una burla a la inteligencia. ¿Por qué no madura? Oh, me olvide, que no tienen la inteligencia infantil.

The singer looks overweight. I think the 'Milky Way' he's been singing about must be the candy bar.

whatever dude, this song rocks, who cares if he has aged, some day you will be a fat fuck
