Third, I'm pretty active in mobile tech as a developer and as a blogger (as editor-in-chief of tnkgrl Mobile, and columnist on Engadget), so there are plenty of videos where I show my face (on my channel and elsewhere).

Why? Because it's one of the few phones supports initial auto-focus during video recording (like the N900, actually) - I can do macro videos that way...

And it records decent 640x480 30 fps video!

Well I don't use EQ because I don't have to. I use really good headphones (BeyerDynamic DT990 Pro) and earphones (Etymotic Research HF2). I work in audio for a living and I can assure you the N900 and the N97 are both top notch devices in terms of sound quality.

Actually currently im enjoying n97,s sound and yeterday n900 is launched here in U.A.E so i wanted to get it but was waiting for the music quality confirmation. I just love music and wanted my phone to have excellent sound. i guess i should give n900 a shot as per ur advice. thanks a lot for the answers...

It will only do 3G (HSDPA) with T-Mobile in the US. AT&T will be 2G (EDGE) only.

last year i gat n810 I do not like its big and not compare with n900 and how about this it has good and high sound and the internet can you see tv online like tv sits as it proved pliz tell me because n810 it has agly sound and it dont have nothig I do not like at all but n900 I really like it and i well buy when on sale.. sorry my bad English

The N900 is a huge improvement over the N810. It's faster & smaller, and features a 5 megapixel Carl Zeiss (camera with auto-focus, macro, & dual LED flash), DVD quality video recording, plus phone functionality (quad-band EDGE and tri-band HSDPA).

The N900 is unlocked and works on any GSM.UMTS network. It supports both 2G (EDGE) and 3G (HSDPA) on T-Mobile USA, and only 2G on AT&T/Rogers. It supports both 2G and 3G on most europeam/asian networks.
