Way to sound off on something you know nothing about. Assets are not taxable. Income is taxable. You are not taxed on the content of your bank account and neither are the rich. Interest earned is considered income and is taxable. However that is such a small amount in the grander scheme of things as to be negligible. The only reason these accounts are being sought is to force companies to use a banking system that creates money from monies held ie... debt.

I don't think corporations or the mega rich worry as much about taxes as the middle class, they don't pays as much as we do. Example is this dust up over drug coverage for retired employees. The corp have been getting a huge tax break and are upset because it's being taken away.

I believe that if the US want to tax us broke while they spent our tax generated cash without oversite the way they have done it without our tax payers being asked then US citizen should have a choice to expatriate to any country of his choosing without any red tape and delay or conditions.

Yes, that fact that we have no real say in our Fed gov of how our taxes are spent, is a real pisser, no doubt. I've tried a lot of different methods to ease my tax burden myself, just for that reason. Yet, on the other hand, to allow those with the means to avoid taxes all together, hardly seems fair.

The speaker in the video says that not paying US taxes according to her is against the law. I state that the IRS has to prove that there is a rule that was radified into law giving them the authority to tax us citizens as they have been. I pay taxes but I pay taxes as if I am paying extortionist to live life unhassled.

As I've stated in a reply to someone else who feels there isn't any law requiring taxes. The debate on taxes is Income Taxes and although the debate still rages on, people have gone to jail for a long time for not paying going way back to Al Capone. So there's enough of a law to do that, seem to me there's a law somewhere.

if you dont get your moneys worth in the states feel free to come to switzerland. Hey we even believe in the rule of law here. You dont stash money offshore because you pay next to nothing in taxes. Robbing you, their paying for you since you dont have the means to live comfortably the top 10% of Americans basically have to support the remaining 90%.

They've been working on this since 2004 but never with the President's backing like they have now, so we'll see what develops. The IRS and Justice Department are working together. They just filed a "John Doe" summons for UBS to hand over names. Time will tell I guess.

What authority does the US have to demand anything from the Swiss? I respect the Swiss for their historic neutrality. Our tax "laws" are not moral anyway. Just another fraud that has been thrust upon us like the Federal Reserve. Henry David Thoreau did jail time for refusing to pay income taxes because he knew back then that it was BS. Is it the law? A group of former IRS employees tried to prove we are legally obligated to pay taxes. They came up with nothing. We have been conditioned to think that paying taxes is our patriotic duty. How many times have you heard "I'm a tax-paying citizen...?" I'm with Ron Paul, I pay taxes because the people with the guns make me, not because it 's the law. "Swiss banks facilitating breaking our laws...?" Thats like saying it's illegal for me to go to Amsterdam to smoke pot.

It seems to be enough of a law to put people in jail for not paying them, or asking that they pay huge penalties for not doing so. Can you think of another way to pay government employees, or the police and fire department in your town?  Do you really want private enterprises to own every road in America and pay a toll to drive on them each day, both ways? Yes, we are taxes at every turn and NO ONE should be required to pay, while others don't.
