Nobody realizes just how much of the tone of these amps comes from using real, living, breathing, organic, SOLID wood in the cabinetry. A cab or combo will in fact act as an acoustic instrument with a speaker vibrating inside. Play an acoustic dreadnought acoustic with a solid spruce or cedar top, then play a dreadnought with a laminated top, and hear the difference. Same concept, the speakers are like the strings, the baffle is the bridge, etc. BTW, you can also do KT63(6V6 tetrode equivalent).
the amp would be great if there wasnt so much sag!
