everybody wants to be a critic. This movie might not win an oscar but it was definately entertaining. ive seen way worse films and this is miles above them. if your going to "try" to be movie critics learn your craft first.
Oh I have learned my craft. I've studied film analysis and avid viewer of Siskel, Ebert and Roeper. Yes, there are far worse films than this and it does entertain, but for all the wrong reasons. This clearly had aspirations to be a piece of serious drama and failed on that level. As with Lakeview Terrace an intriguing premise with the potential to raise serious issues is undermined by hamfisted exploitation dialogue. So, you are left with an unintentional comedy.
then why dont you find something more to say than its bad. Movigoers are suppose to be entertained. Ive seen bad movies that arent entertaining. this is a film people can go see with fun. theres nothing deep about this movie. still it was entertaining. as a movie critic i thought you would haver more to say than that. you dont have to study film analysis to know the film had holes. Im surprised you gey paid for reviews like that.
If you watch some of my other reviews you'll notice they are a lot more analytical, as are my print reviews. This movie didn't seem to warrant a very deep discussion, although I can discuss at greater length why I thought it was bad. Every single moment in it was predictable and I was laughing at it not with it. I had the same reaction to the remake of the Wicker Man. I laughed at how ridiculous it was. I could not recommend, as someone commented, they spend their hard earned money on this film.
This is the thing, we did say that if you want a good laugh & to be entertained, rent it when it comes out on DVD, but I could not let someone spend $8,10, or $12 in the theater to watch this film. And I did study film in college, so I know what I'm talking about, yet this is supposed to be done as entertainment for the YouTube viewers out there. I'm sorry you don't agree, but it is rude to be insulting--did your mom not teach you manners?
i'll say it again you dont have to go to school to know this film had bad parts. I think parts of it was good. the acting sucked in some parts and they nailed it in others. I watched this movie in the bronx and i heard better reasoning for why people didnt like the film than you guys. If you guys are going to criticisize there has to be some level of what bad is. just saying its "bad" isnt good enough. I was thoughrougly entertained by this movie and I would see it again if I had to.

Plus, on your last comment, I'm not getting sensitive, I'm just pointing out that if you're going to make a comment on someone's video--that's being done FOR FUN--you should be respectful and constructive, and the comments you are making are NOT constructive criticism at all, just rude. I think someone needs to get their panties out of the massive wad it's in--chillax!

the whole movie was just a long ass beyonce video like r kelly in the closet. this woman cannot act t save her life. she is trying to do everything and everything is not doing her. now she wants to go the broadway. the bitch is burned out. i hope this does not hurt idris alba's career. He took a massive risk acting with these talentless females. The white girl was not as bad as beyonce. I want my money back. I am so pissed especially during this recession. $11 is alot of money to me

....BUT Beyonce should focus on singing because her acting is AWFUL!!!!!!!!!!!!

OMG I totally agree with you guys. The movie was terrible.
When I was walking out of the theater, one of the employees asked me, "Did you like it?"
She seemed like a very sweet girl so I didn't want to be mean. So I just told her, "Yeah, it was cool."
I should've just told her the truth and said that the movie sucked!
