I have similar problem. But with mine its the up arrow key. I tried popping it back in place but its not the same. When i gently press on the upper right corner of that key that has popped up , the bottom right corner lifts. I spoke the the technician through chat 2-3 days ago. i had 200 and something more days of warranty on it. So they wont me to ship it too them so they can replace the keyboard.
Apparently this is a common problem as my model is the hp pavilion DV-74173US.
@zabitken well hp isnt exactly top of the line in quality, but i mean its current dv7 range has better hardware than similarly priced PCs even today. cuts must have been made somewhere if hp is trying to make a profit off their products, so taking incount the LED screen and the nice ass video card, i wouldnt be surprised if the keyboard is some $0.50 chinese piece of junk
hmm I think you're right, what kind of system do you own ? I must say I haven't had any problems with that key since, but I try and take good care of everything I own.
@zabitken i currently own a dv6000, but i have ordered a $700 dv7 4060 in the mail. honestly, the ATI 5650 graphics card that the laptop i have ordered rivals that of PCs. so i wouldnt be too sad if one key stoped working. what do u have?
@zabitken i used to be a cod4 online gamer, but ive cut back on my gaming. what i do now is alot of music production and recording, so i just need a beefy laptop for cheap. i sometimes play medal of honor, but never online lol. and u?

Well I don't use them for that I've got a Xbox 360 controller that I use for most games and it works wonders !

contact hp about the issues and send it in for repair, or see if you could get a replacement or refund from the place you got it from.

All in all it's a nice system as you can tell and I hope you enjoy yours just as much as I enjoy mine.

Will you be playing any online games ? I'm somewhat of a decent gamer and I've got a number of good games that I play.
