  • I'm a grade 9 ref and I would say no call

    There's little contact and no

I'm not going to give a card for flopping they already look stupid

    Btw law 19 common sense

  • White threw herself on the ground trying to draw a free kick. Caution for unsporting behaviour, and award IDFK for blue. And no, of course it can't be a red card.

  • I'm a grade 8 ref. to me it seems that it was just shoulder to shoulder contact on a 50-50 ball. no foul.

  • What a weird looking kitchen

  • I am a Grade 8 referee, and based on the angle of this video, I would not have called a foul. The blue player clearly did not push or trip the white player.

  • All that was missing from that play was the big (((splash))) at the end.

  • No foul... Thats a clear dive as far as i'm concerned!

  • Diving is disgraceful and gives football a bad name. This should be in the rule book

No Diving and the diver should get a straight red card.

  • @DavidSloanVideos Diving is against the rules. It is a yellow, but could be red on ref discression. It isnt called much but it is technically against the rules.

  • @Lifespenalty Well how did you know that i am sharing an opinion

  • play on!

  • no contact at all

and if anything it was all body.

  • FLOP

  • Simulation, every day of the week

  • Straight yellow for white for faking

  • thats a yellow on white for diving

  • not very much contact...... not enough for a foul.

  • Girl sports so lame

  • The white player is trying to do that on purpose to get a shot on goal.

  • As a referee, i have to start out by saying this view isn't perfect and this is my opinion. And yes it looks like a U14G game so granted it is below what i usually center so my calls may seem a little harsher. I see the push on blue to be trifling and a no call. I would caution white at the next stop of play for exaggeration and trickery and deception because she rolled one extra time and threw her arms up in a manner of trying to attract attention.

  • No call.

  • no flop

  • thats what is so good about football, every opinion can be based on some "recall" from another decision made in a similar circumstance or situation. in other words, i agree it was a flop, but full marks to the forward for being smart enough to win a free kick in a dangerous position. many underestimate how important winning free kicks are. the italians are masters at it.

  • "Winning a Free Kick", by flopping isn't smart play. It's cheating.

  • If you read the other comments, each has an intepretation of the same action. Some say it was, some say it wasn't. I'm not 100% sure myself, because the angle makes it difficult to judge. My point is that smart players know how to milk this type referee decision in their favor. Its a technique to be learned. A play the whistle situation.

Holding and pushing are also against the rules, but they happen in almost every contest for the ball. Is that cheating as well? Well... yes. It is.

  • I dont want to sound like I am condoning cheating. I merely wanted to say that football/soccer rules are very often highly dependent on how a referee calls them. Smart players build that knowledge into their game.

  • John, Good points!

And in the younger players, it shows a good "Situational awareness".

    Shows they're learning the Game.

    And true, "Play the whistle."

  • Thanks adirondaker. I was worried that my first comment was condoning cheating, but I wasnt sure I had made myself clear that I wasnt.

Play the whistle is a major learning point. I have a son that is currently trialling for a professional contract in Europe (wait and see how that turns out), but through his learning curve Lukas has had to learn how to play in all situations. There's a lot more than just skill involved. Being a smart player is important and takes you to the next level.

  • Upon review, I've concluded, she didn't "flop". She went for a legitimate tackle, and failed, but did draw a foul, thru no intention to decieve. She just played the whistle.

  • no call

  • looks like a push, but from that angle its hard to judge, definate no call

  • no foul

  • looks like a flop to me. no foul.

  • Should not have been a foul. that was a perfectly legal shoulder to shoulder charge.

  • flop. after initially beating the defender, the attacker was challenged from the side, perfectly legal. she knew the defender was catching up and took the opportunity to draw a foul. i know, since i've done it before :-). in truth, refereeing is a tough job. i didn't know how tough until i became one, and i have lots of respect for them now. of course, this is just one refs perspective.

  • No Call, The defender was penetrated.

she went back to defend and did and inward slide tackle. She risked herself and got nothing the ball carrier jumped over.

  • haha.. penetrated..

  • Non-call. The defender made a fair shoulder charge to shield the ball. Get up, play on!

  • big time floppage

  • super flop lol

  • No foul

  • as an OHSAA Officail and a USSF officail that girl should have been given a yello for flopping.

  • what the crap was that? no one wants to watch that.

  • You obviously did, maybe the juggling koala bear video was too intense for you, thanks for viewing
