It's 24 drawings (or frames) per second to get a nice smooth motion.

  • @skateskateskates

    Nickelodeon Animation Studios.

  • wow!! It's so smooth, is this all done with just pencil and paper? Did you use any software?

  • @llam89

Pencil and paper and blood and sweat, all scanned into photoshop and timed out in Premiere.

  • for hand drawn animations, do you draw every single slide and not use any of the kinematics and pegs and all that?

  • @babokim13

Yup. All drawn on paper. And then scanned into the computer to time it out.

  • phenominal

    Thanks!

  • I love the animations! It inspires me to keep animating. :)

  • @Wrathgir

    Glad to hear it! Thanks!

  • Terrific animation. The body and facial gestures are so expressive. I especially liked the little bear's face when he was annoyed with his dad. Keep up the great work!

  • @AnimatedEllen

    Thanks so much!

  • 1 second in a animation film takes 12 individual pictures, to make everything go with a good flow.

  • i preffer 24 :P

  • @OSUFootball78

24 would be smoother... but you can still get nice movement with 12 drawings per second.

  • I am practicing still frame animation by myself...I can't stand being confined in a classroom to learn techniques and stuff. Any tips for 2d still frame animation?? I sent a sample video as a video response, it was for a competition..still waiting on results.

  • @ryoko

Keep drawing and animating and experimenting with it. Also study movement - animals, sports players. Study acting- your favorite movies. Study life - look at the way you act and react to things.

  • I literally just finished first year animation in college, these are the real, raw, brilliant, experimental stages. For the most part what we are seeing is still pictures and pencil no other magic ingredient except for skills in observation and timing! 5 minutes of film of still pictures? Your looking at well over a 1000 individual drawings minimum. Could be as high as 3500-4000 easily. Fantastic work, portfolio worthy!

  • you do know that he didnt do this in one time right

  • actually it takes 1000 pics for each min

  • Really beautiful stuff.

  • @DarkoMessiah

    Thank you.

  • Nice stuff. Long live hand drawn animation!

Anybody intetested in Disney's Nine Old Men can join the free forum, classical hand drawn animation, (do a search).

  • This is pure gold. You really draw with a passion. The only thing I could put my finger on would be the lack of simulantelous animations, but then again you're only one man, so that's pretty understandable. Theese must have taken ages to do anyway!

  • @daevil1

Thanks for the compliment! Yes... animation does take time.... patience is required.

  • i love it can u show how do that peez

  • lol 2:45

    this is great stuff!

  • @reigalius

    Thanks!

  • Even a few secs must've taken ages to draw... Amazing work!

  • @mexicandruglord

Ha! I like you... My favorite comment!

  • wow ! just fantastic! what are the processes and materials you used to create animation like this?!!

  • @guitar0211

Thanks! All drawn with pencil and paper, scanned into the computer and timed out in Premiere and Aftereffects.

  • finally an other real art talent. we are a minority in this age of ignorance. keep up the good work and let your light shine forth.
