  • This is what the Zeitgeist Movement is aiming. But without the money.

  • Beautiful video

  • Well this is getting scary..

  • now picture IBM having all this information o_O

  • Can't they just limit how many babies people can make? People making 5-20 babies are not helping the over population problem. If 2 people get together and have 1-2 babies, the population won't go out of control.

I contribute to "folding at home" cloud computing.

  • Why at 6:00 into the video - when you describe the benefits of this "smarter planet" model do you have that menacing string music accompanying the dialog?

As if people are not already fearful of information overload and the loss of privacy and other ethical issues that arise, you have to give them a Steven King edge?

  • ya humanity is doomed lol fu ibm!

  • IBM IS THE BEST

  • nice, but ibm still play's by the stablishment rules.

  • This is great work..wonderfully told and presented.. The best video on this topic I've seen.

  • This is propaganda. RFID tags will most likely be misused. Technology advances on human endeavor alone, we do not need giant multinationals handling our security. I would love to use RFID technology if I could trust those behind it, and a pretty storybook is not going to earn my trust. It's not paranoia, it's fact: look at how coporate and multinational entities already use surveilance technology. It's frightening.

  • I liked this video, but the sound choice, particularly the Jaws-esque sounds around the six minute mark, were a poor choice.

  • really nice and interesting! congratulations!

  • This was really interesting to watch and easy to understand.

  • Nicely written and spoken! And maybe it's just the child in me, but I absolutely love the simple pictures and gentleness of the whole production. And I learned a little ...Well done!

  • If you don't think much of our government, why not create a site that explains how a good one would avoid the problems that you see plaguing ours?

  • No RFID chipping a thing as an excuse 2control your Safety. We would be SAFE; because people would hold Integrity,Truth &Loving thy Neighbor as Thyself above Corp consumerism. Corp would have a life span of say 100-50-30-15 yrs &be TAXED accordingly. Then they must DIVEST. Corp's R NOT an entity &have NO SAY in Congress/No Lobbyists. Corps MUST promote Health Safety &DO NO Harm 2the Earth or it's people. No conglomerates in ANY industry. AIR, EARTH, H20 R free thru Green tech-spiritual growth.

  • You sound like a paranoid religious nut. RFID is a good thing. It will bring down costs thus raising the standard of living by making it take less effort to deliver the same good.

Most of the technology we enjoy today came from corporate think tanks, like Bell Labs (do you realize they invented the operating system most likely powering this forum?) You're simply wrong--it sounds like you listen to morons like Glenn Beck or Lush Rimjob. You share the ideology of 60s hippies. It's lame.

  • @zemlamusic, if we don't do anything but insult each other how can we be expected to learn enough to become more than ignorant dickheads? Why not try to educate me?

  • @zemlamusic, I'm not even sure we're that far apart. I'll send you a link to a short essay I wrote a few days ago at thinkfinity (a social networking site for teachers) that explains what I think we need to do to address these issues. Perhaps its not that different from what you consider necessary.

  • This is powerful storytelling and I found the detailed pictures and simple prose entirely captivating, and more moving than any of the smart planet ads I've been seeing. This was so well done that I found the eight minutes length much too short!

  • I love the format -- done with a sharp eye for revealing detail, and in a prose style that is casual, but tough. It helped me see things freshly, from inside out.

  • Wonderful, imaginative storytelling with deep insight, hope and inspiration about our planet's infrastructure.

This is the exact opposite of the videos that choose an important subject, but are hastily written and have nothing much to say.

  • well said. this is important and told in a very understandable way. i think teachers should show this to their students and discuss it. it's their future - our future.

  • beautiful.
