I would say religion can destroy people in many ways, and they definitely don't have to move to iran for it. I don't really understand that logic. When religion is put before a family, and thus creates a tense and unloving atmosphere in the family structure, it is destroying people. When people neglect their true selves, i.e. being homosexual, due to religion, they are in essence destroying themselves. Religious destruction doesn't have to be in the form of violence.

I would say religion can destroy people in many ways, and they definitely don't have to move to iran for it. I don't really understand that logic. When religion is put before a family, and thus creates a tense and unloving atmosphere in the family structure, it is destroying people. When people neglect their true selves, i.e. being homosexual, due to religion, they are in essence destroying themselves. Religious destruction doesn't have to be in the form of violence.

I think my comment of burning a church may have been taken a bit too literal, though I am not opposed to it. I would be willing to presume that most gays tend to treat people with respect, and they as a populous still tend to get judged by a large portion of society religious or otherwise. then again, history has shown that religion is malleable, and does change over time, so it wouldn't surprise me if in the next 30 years, homosexuality becomes an accepted part of the church. Look at the christian relationship with the jews, christians couldn't loan other christians money, so they'd go through jews, but now, you wouldn't think twice about giving a fellow christian money if need be.
