It's going to be very difficult to do anything as there are old origins for this practice. The qur'an itself says that Allah transformed SOME Jews into Apes and pigs and from that some people extrapolate to say that ALL jews are apes and pigs (not humans). Are you asking to modify the qur'an? or remove it from Schools? The Islamic ideology wouldn't permit it since is the basis for all of Islam. The best would be to strictly separate State and Mosque but even in Jordan Islam is official religion.

I'm Arab Christian, lived in Qatar my whole life and have never been discriminated against. As for the Gaza Strip and all, yes there are programs that demonize Israelis because they are currently at war. As a Palestinian I disagree with it. However I also diagree with Israel.

As a student in Amman, I am appalled that you believe that our gov. text books promote hatred towards the Western society and Jews. They do not promote any such attitudes at all! Your rash generalizations are bias as there are millions of Arabs and Muslims in the world and you attack the whole society because of minorities! I live in Jordan and have experienced Israeli hate firsthand,--making non-Jews wait six hours at the Allenby bridge crossing to enter. Arabs don't like Israel because it has colonized Arab land and killed tens of thousands of civilians. Please stop repeating your country's propaganda. P.S. The best solution is for Israel to dismantle its settlements, withdraw to the 1967 borders, and compensate the Palestinians for the property that it stole these 62 years. As an American, I've traveled in the Middle East, and there are many American schools and even universities, like the American U of Cairo (and they also run a HS) and the Amer U of Beiruit. Of course, they don't teach such propaganda there. So, even in countries, there is a level of diversity. We all know there are Arab Muslim citizens of Israel, of course. Still, it's a problem.

Which is why I say you have to look at the whole picture of things. Israel as nation was founded so that Jews from Europe at the time after the war could have a safe place to go where they could live in peace but the arab nations surronding Israel and arabs living in Isreal wouldn't let that happen so Israel had to take measures to secure itself. And when I say Israel I mean all of Isreal, even those desert areas you like to call Palestine (a false reference because theirs no such place).

Things are not really that bad here anymore.. I always say you have more chance of being hit by a car than being blown up by a terrorist.. But I know a girl who survived an attack.. She is now full of shrapnel.. Not a good thing to have living here as you must go through metal detectors even to get into a supermarket..!!
