Some horses get "tailworm", (I don't know the correct word in english), in part of the treatment they need to shave the hair on the tail and medicate with ointment and other stuff... I don't know if this horse have tailworm tho'! To dock the horse - cut off the tail - is cruelty to a horse! Then the hair on the tail cannot grow long and fence off flies! If the hair is cut temporary it's not cruelty! - and yeah, horse-farts is yukky!

Horses need their tails to swish flies. A horse can go lame stamping to get rid of flies if he doesn't have a tail to swish them with, so it really is a serious problem. Just sayin'.

It probley has no tail hair, because it could have sweetich? or if you leave a tail bandage on too tight for more than 3 hours, they loose blood circulation to their tails, but the hair does grow back :)

@jagtech06 The horse's tail hair has been twisted around and tied up around the tailbone of the tail. Basically, it's like a girl putting her hair in a bun- it doesn't hurt, and it keep the hair out of the way so it doesn't get caught on things or get dirty. :)
