I am a nix junkie but am using winblows 7 at the moment. I find the GIMP hanging up on me from time to time in winblows. anyone else have that problem? Nice vid by the way, great for beginners.
I played trying to achieve the original offset effect by dividing a colored image into the 4 CMYC layers. Then passing each layer as monochromatic through the newsprint filter with different angles of dots. And finally rebuilding the original colored photograph with the 4 layers.
Actually I was in the same position asking the same thing, that's why I wanted to try out KDE myself. It's quite nice, but I have already switched back to Gnome. No real reasons though, just a matter of taste.
