Same-sex attraction is not a choice. But choosing to act on those impulses is, and God condens those who choose to do so, however he also condemns those who are liars, theives, and disrespectors of authority. Homosexuality is no worse in God's eyes than you cheating on a math exam in high school. The Bible says just as much about how wrong homosexuality is as it does about disobeying any other commandments of God. @landsdown44 I am curious as to how you think those texts have been distorted?
Jesus is the way the truth and the life and everything against him is sin and nobody can make it to Heaven outside of him. Everything outside of the will of God is sin and at the end we all will have to answer to one God and there is only one God and he see's homosexuality as sin a abomination...that is not the language of God. But he , He loves the sinner but hates the sin seeing this video really made me go wow. I can't believe this.
@keemahslove8inchrist God has always broken down our prejudices and boundaries to bring in those who have suffered at the hands of others. BTW, the Bible does NOT see homosexuality as an abomination. The 5 texts in the Bible (Gen. 19, Lev. 18:22, Rom.6:9, I Tim. 1:10, Rom. 1:16-27) which are used to hammer gays, have all been abused in the attempt to oppose homosexuality.
Oh my, what are you talking??? How can you say this?? Now it seems like you belong to evil..How can you judge people?? You are NOT God! Only God is the Creator of everything, of universe, and ONLY HE is able to judge us! I do not understand how can you, muslims, not accept Jesus as your only God! For our only God, the only one real God sent Jesus to Earth so that we would be saved! And so now, whoever believe in Jesus, accept Him as their only Saviour and Lord shall be saved! Jesus is God Himself!
@mikesomething Gee, when was it that God gave you the authority to decide on someone's eternal fate. Just supposing that you have that authority is an affront to God.
@mikesomething Oh, my dear friend...I don't want to insult you, but I will NEVER EVER become muslim!! No way!! Even if i have to die, I will never ever renounce my lovely Jesus! He is my lovely lover, my lovely Jesus, my God, my Lord, my Saviour!! I LOVE HIM WITH ALL MY HEART AND SOUL and I want the world to know this!!! <3 Oh my, Jesus, MY SOUL LONGS FOR YOU FOREVER!!!!
also your lifestyle is so important to you, but what is most important to you your freedom to live as you please or to commit your life to a life geared on pleasing God and walking with him? the bible says we die in our old life and live new with Christ so regardless of if its sin or not what is your highest priority to please God or yourself? this is the heart of the issue
I realize that you who identify yourselves as homosexuals wrestle with the issue (especially in confrontation against "Christians") that the convictions you have regarding your orientation are not wrong. If you believe in the Lord and see yourself as a Christian than my question to you would be how involved are you with your partner? Gay or strait if you are sexually active and not married that's considered fornication and that is a sin. I would encourage you to make a change in your life.
Ok I can't just make myself believe in God. I used to but now I don't. It's irrational and there's no real evidence. So because I've rationally come to the conclusion there probably is no god I WILL be sent to hell. It's God rules not mine. He created hell and came up with the conditions of entry so don't put it back on me. And any god that can come up with a concept of everlasting torture is pure evil.
@Hortos1 Before you make such a momentous decision I recommend two very short books, THE GREAT DIVORCE by C.S. Lewis and LOVE WINS by Rob Bell. Your view of God is evil and wants to torture people eternally are dealt with very clearly and honestly.
@Hortos1 The Great Divorce is a novel about people who had the opportunity to take a bus trip from hell to heaven. Lewis contends that hell is not about punishment at all. In fact almost everyone on the bus prefered hell. The reason: they had come so far from genuine love and compassion and especially the source which is God, that they were blind to how calous they had become. Genuine love repelled them.
Love Wins is a study of the scriptural passages on hell and an outstanding conclusion.
@DWerner7822 I like the part where Jesus has his favourite apostle sit on his lap - 'cause you know, that's what straight guys do, sit on each other laps -_-
@landsdown44 HOWEVER, above all else, you must not allow bible study to be the most important thing. You're TOP priority should be to know Jesus. John 5:39 "Search the scriptures; for in them ye think ye have eternal life: and they are they which testify of me. And ye will not come to me, that ye might have life."
@landsdown44 In a nutshell. Obey Jesus. Don't be afraid of humiliation, Jesus himself was humiliated. Read the bible BUT don't let bible study overrule your love/connection of/with Jesus. We need Jesus dear friend more than anything in the entire universe. May Jesus Bless You.
@VonJohanstein You can think whatever you want. At the end of the day what counts is if you know Jesus. Without him you are doomed. (And don't give me a link to some lame Zeitgeist movie made by people who want to only bash Christianity but leave Buddhism, Islam, and Hinduism alone).
You can think whatever you want. At the end of the day what counts is if you are muslim. Without islam you are doomed.
See what I did there? Fun Fact: Religious arrogance isn't very persuasive.
Save your straw man argument - few atheists even accept that movie. It is filled with flaws and lies. It is the non-christian equivalent to the christian creationist movement.
@VonJohanstein Wow, thanks for putting words in my mouth and jumping to conclusions... Which you didn't even do correctly. I never said a thing about religion. Religion is made by man. I am not advocating religion I'm advocating people to follow and live like Jesus (Discipleship and Religion are two different things). Please take your atheist movement and go somewhere else. And I suggest you start to read comments before you argue against things that aren't even there.
@DovefromGod "You can think whatever you want. At the end of the day what counts is if you know Jesus. Without him you are doomed".
See this is one of the many problems I have with theism. What an ego your god must have. If we don't worship him we're sent to an eternity of torture and mind numbing pain. Surely if an atheist is a good person god will look kindly apon them?
@Hortos1 Hold on a minute... God doesn't cause you to go to hell. You do that yourself. Would you rather have God force you to be with him? That would be torture dear friend. To have a God force you and him to be together for eternity. Instead God lets you choose for yourself. Hell is the one place in all the universe where you won't have to ever hear of Jesus or God ever again. But my question to you is, why would you not want to be with Jesus forever? Jesus is perfect. May Jesus Bless You.
@landsdown44 Leviticus 19:17-18 “Do not hate a fellow Israelite in your heart. REBUKE your neighbor frankly so you will not share in their guilt. Do not seek revenge or bear a grudge against anyone among your people, but love your neighbor as yourself. I am the LORD." You are to warn your neighbor when their sin is taking them to hell. Not wallow in their sin, tell them to STOP sinning. That proves you love them. So I'll tell you stop you're sinning, that shows I love you.
@eth6706 You're actually right. Religion does cause inequality. However, a person that believes and walks with/like Jesus doesn't belong to religion. Yes, there are many people who go to church on Sunday (Real sabbath is Saturday) and call themselves "Christian". However, they miss the entire point of being a "Christian"... They think they have eternal life by studying the bible. They think it's okay to kill one another. They think war is okay etc. Follow Jesus dear friend before your time is up
Later on it was his son as a messenger. Still not too bad.
Nowadays it's tornadoes, hurricanes, earthquakes and tsunamis... that's bad.
Whatever it is that this god is trying to say, you have to admit the message is not getting clearer. And that he sucks at communication. Now would be a good time to get back to stone tablets. Or anything written.
@Meurglys33 God IS still speaking and if you think it's through tornadoes or hurricanes etc., that's your problem. You might as well read tea leaves. I have a better idea. Why not try the teachings of Jesus of Nazareth, found in the four gospels of the New Testament. There, see, even something written.
@landsdown44 How is god still speaking? The four gospels of the New Testament are over 2000 years old. How is god speaking now? Or by this point is he just going "shit, I really fucked up on this one."
@TheBoredProle The teachings of Jesus of Nazareth were relevant 2000 years ago and are just as relevant today. Millions of people get their guidance from the Gospels and have experienced life in a far more meaningful way because of it. That includes me. You are dissing something you really know very little or nothing about.
Actually, cancer is the cancer of modern society. Religion is many, many things, including a perfectly normal, even mundane aspect of humanity in a world where the vast majority of people are and have been religious. Can't you just believe/not believe whatever you want without making ridiculous comparisons?
...there is no such thing as "insufficient praising" for Him. How about you study again the Bible, but also prey to God to help you understand it? You'll have a megasurprise, just as I had. God be with you.
If you do belive in a God who created the universe, you already belive in the God of the Bible, there is no other God. I'm sorry to tell you, but from your comments it is obvious you didn't understod the Bible, that is if you have already read it. Everything that is good and decent in our thinking ang behaviour is in the Bible, men haven't invented anything, they just don't admit it anymore. God does not need us to study the Bible, we do. One more thing: there is no such thing as "ins
@pookerville You might hate the homosexual lifestyle (if by that you mean living out who they really are), but Jesus no where made an anti-gay statement.
@pookerville Their lifestyle is who they are, according to people like you the way god made them. What should they do? Shut up and pretend to be straight for the rest of their lives? Wake up you morons...
No one really cares about Genesis where it says "He created them man and woman, naked without shame" not homophobic, but if we look into the full definition of marriage, the love shared between the two people is only able to happen when it's man and woman, two women can't make a baby, two men can't make a baby...just a thought...
Is this the same God who created hatred, inequality, and injustice? Also, since when did the church support homosexuality? I saw a marriage equality protest in this video, or was that a mistake?
@landsdown44 Don't talk about context, your trying to bend what is said. I'm just saying what's there and what's not so really no prejudice can be added to that. Unlike others I support them in being able to do what they want as long as it's "they're choice". Regardless of what I think, I know it is not supported in the bible. Oh and your wrong, heterosexuality is very supported in the bible. In fact go read the letters of Paul it pretty much supports singleness or marriage (man and a woman).
"If a man lies with a man as one lies with a woman," That doesn't sound like cult worship, they're talking against plain homosexual relations period. None the less, find me any place in the Bible (Chrisitan, Hebrew, Muslim) where homosexuality is glorified or even allowed as ok. Don't talk about how it's ok through a bunch of underlying text; it's not, not at all, sorry.
@AfroWalkerSamurai What is clear is you try to make the Bible fit your prejudices. If you bother to find out what the context of a passage is you will not get away with your prejudice. God is like that. One's sexual orientation is not glorified in any spiritual work that I know of, gay or straight. And Jesus never said one word against homosexuality.
@iarno2 One's sexual orientation cannot be a sin since it is not chosen any more than the color of one's skin. You really need to take another look at the basics of morality if you are attempting to equate rape and pedophilia with one's sexual orientation. Pedophilia can be an addiction but that is no one's orientation. Surely you can do better than that. And how self righteous of you to accuse me of being lukewarm when you are the one rejecting people God created.
@landsdown44 Sexual orientation is not a choice. If you have a dick you, you are a man. If you have breasts and a vagina you are a woman. You are not born as a man and attracted to other man, or as a woman and attracted to other women. That is a choice you make as you grow up based upon some feeling you recieved at some point in your life that you accepted as your truth. But it is not true. There is no gay or lesbian gene in in your dna. Homosexuality is not a race do not ever compare.
@jsdemetrius While sexual orientation is not a race it is VERY comparable. Just as no one chooses one's race, no one chooses ones sexual orientation, regardless which sex organs one is born with. I can't tell you how many gay people have told me how terrible they felt when they came to the realization that they were attracted to people of their own gender. That's the last thing they wanted especially because so many see it as "wrong" and many family members reject them. You simply got it wrong.
@landsdown44 Realizing an attraction to the same sex is just like some adult realizing they are attracted sexually to little children. Pedophiles are just as convinced that there attraction is acceptable just as much as homosexuals are. There is a law that convicts pedophiles, there should be a law that convicts homosexuals. I LOVE homsexuals, pedophiles, adulterers, prostitutes, rapers, I JUST DON'T LOVE WHAT THEY DO. Homosexuality is NOT A RACE because it is in the MIND, not the BLOOD.
@jsdemetrius So are you also admiting that realizing you are attracted to the opposite sex just like realizing you are sexually attracted to little children? If that is true of you everyone must hide their children when you are near. The point is just as there is a huge difference between heterosexual sex and pedophile sex, the same is true of homosexual sex. As for wanting homosexuality to be a crime, there was such a place, Nazi Germany, and it's a crime in Iran too. You keep bad company.
@landsdown44 Homosexuality is NOT A RACE because it is in the MIND, not the BLOOD.
I noticed you had no response to that comment. Instead you tried to belittle me and dodge the true point of the conversation. I love you sis and I love homosexuals. Anyone bound by homosexuality needs to simply repent and change their ways. Becoming free from homosexuality is just a change of heart and a renewal of the mind. God(Jesus) can help them. Don't defend sin, cause sin cannot win. Nice rhyme:-)
@jsdemetrius I didn't try to belittle you. I just showed how ridiculous your comment was. And homosexuality is not just in the mind any more than heterosexuality is just in the mind. And BTW I am not a "sis" and I am not gay.
You should also know that one cannot just "change" their sexual orientation. I spoke with a leader of the Exodus movement (praying out the gay). He told me it simply did not work and who should know better than him.
@landsdown44Homosexuality is NOT A RACE because it is in the MIND, not in the BLOOD. My point still stands, there is NO HOMOSEXUAL GENE OR DNA IN THE BLOOD, therefore the LUST they have for the same sex is in their mind and emotions. Any unholy LUSTFUL stronghold can be destroyed with the help of God(Jesus). Dont trust a leader in the exodus movement, trust God(Jesus). Nothing is impossible for him. Homosexuals can be set free just like any other sinner. Im done nice chatting much love:)
@jsdemetrius You are accusing homosexual sex to be born only of lust. That is nothing but prejudice on your part. Here's who I DON'T trust for any concept of integrity regarding sexual identity, that would be you. You are not following the lead of God, but of bigotry and prejudice. Niether of those traits are of God.
@jsdemetrius I absolutely agree with you!! Homosexuality IS NOT A RACE!!! People think they are homosexual when devil tells them so! ITS NOT TRUE!! Those who tell they are homosexual, are attacked by devil! JESUS CAN SET THEM FREE!!! JESUS IS BIGGER THAN devil!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! i cant even writes devil's name in big letters cuz he is soooo small n soooo weary!!! YOU CAN DO NOTHING TO US, devil!!!!!!
I pray, You Father, please open the eyes of poor guys, who think they are homosexual, they dont know what they are doing, its devil affacted them, so please, Daddy, open their eyes, in lovely Jesus name i pray, amen!!!
@landsdown44 No,actually,it's not arrogant post at all. I am just telling the true...Oh,it seems I'll even cry right now because it's so sad when people get attacked by devil and they do nothing to get free from it..Oh, trust me...God have already opened my eyes and I'll worship Him forever!! He is sooooo'infinity" good to me!Thank You, Jesus for always showing me what I've done not right and what I'm still doing not right.Praise Your holy name,Jesus, for ever and ever!!! LOVE YOU!!!
@landsdown44 Hey and I don't really want to be at odds with you. Because I love everyone in this world. It's just I really hope God will show the right way to you very soon.. You know, you should read the bible..There you can find more information that homosexuals are not the race, it's people's mind affected by devil...God bless you, my dear friend!
@JesusIsMyLife333 God has shown me the right way, to be inclusive the way Jesus is. The devil isn't blinding my eyes. Jesus has opened them. I do read the Bible, every day. There are 5 texts in the Bible used to hammer gays. They have all been abused. Actually, the Bible doesn't condemn homosexuality and you shouldn't either.
@landsdown44 I don't condemn homosexuals or anyone else in this world. Because I am not God and I shouldn't condemn anybody. Only God is able to condemn us. But I will for ever say there is no such "race" as homosexuality. Woman was created for man, and man was created for woman so that when they get married, they become as one. You should pray God and ask Him to answer you what is truly ok and what is not. God bless!
@JesusIsMyLife333 I never said homosexuality was the same as a race. I said , just as no one can change the color of their skin, no one can change their sexual identity. That is not a choice we have. I have prayed to God about this a geat deal. While I am not gay, I believe God's answer is to accept gay and straight alike.
@landsdown44 Oh, my dear friend...I see our conversation doesn't have any meaning...There is no reason to talk to you about this because you still say what you think and there isn't any meaning of my words in your life...Will pray for you...And I don't want to end this our talking in this unfriendly way. Because, anyway, we are family. So, God bless you, my friend! May God's will be done in your life!
@iarno2 Actually no, the Bible nowhere supports you and you clearly have made no attempt to discover the context for the passages in question. Your argument from Adam and Eve is meaningless. What you completely ignore is someone who may live in a heterosexual body but has a homosexual orientation. Apparently your answer to them is "sucks to be you." Well, Jesus is way better than that. He does not judge anyone for a situation not of their own choosing.
@iarno2 I seek the meaning of the Scripture and follow it. You apparently don't care what the context is which makes all the difference. When you fail to seek context you fail to discern the intent of the text and you distort God's word. What you don't get is that no one chooses their sexual orientation. I didn't choose to be heterosexual. I discovered that's what I am. So what you are saying is God punishes people for something they can't change. Plus the Bible doesn't even support you.
“‘If a man lies with a man as one lies with a woman, both of them have done what is detestable. They must be put to death; their blood will be on their own heads. " Leviticus 20:13 (NIV) Ebible.com
Now as I said before i don't think that they should at all be persecuted because that to is not right and Jesus died for our sins so that we could be saved from persecution. None the less same sex marriage and relations have no place in the church.
@AfroWalkerSamurai When reading texts this old, one needs to know the context in which it is written. Three times prior to this text a warning is given not to do what they did in Egypt and Canaan. Their religious practices included male cult prostitution. It is likely that this text is an anti-male prostitution statement. Notice that there is no prohibition against lesbian sex.
@landsdown44 Um yes, but There was no lesbian prostitution. It was a male controlled society plus they're wasn't any support of female prostitution after the ten commandments. Such things weren't even expected to happen. Due to the way women were isolated and treated there was no real leeway in a woman's life at the time to allow for them to even think of being with another woman.
@AfroWalkerSamurai That answer just does not work. People have natural instinct to live out their natural sexuality. Besides, that's not the major issue in the text anyway. The text is a warning against male cult prostitution, not homosexuality. Male cult prostitution would be seen as treason against the theocracy of Israel.
@landsdown44 to say its peoples "natural instinct" to be homosexual doesnt make it right. We have natural desires to have sex all the time but that doesnt mean we should do it with just anyone or anytime. And if you believe in God then you believe that he created us and that we havent evolved from animals. We arent animals so we should be able to control our natural desires. Homosexuality is wrong. End of story.
@JennieRebecca1 And there is nothing in the Bible to condemn homosexuality, not Gen. 19, not lev. 18:22, not Rom. 6:9, not Rom. 1:26, and not I Tim. 1:10. That can easily be shown. And just where is that text where Jesus condemns the homosexual orientation. Something so imporant, surely he spoke of it often.
@landsdown44 the story of sodom and gomorrah. for centuries people have believed that story to be condemning homosexuality which is why its been shunned for so long. now all of sudden its about male prostitution?? youre accusing other people of changing the bible to fit what you want to believe but to me thats what youre doing.
@JennieRebecca1 If you bother to actually read the text you will discover that it is not the story of Sodom and Gomorrah that has changed, but folks are beginning to see that story for what it is. Read it sometime. Further, Ezekiel 16:49 gives another reason for the destruction of those cities. They cared nothing for the poor. Hmmmm.
@JennieRebecca1 To believe in God does not mean we dont believe in Evolution, are we to say God couldn't make it happen that way? Agreed with the other parts of your comment, just not the Evolution part...cuz we are animals but we are created in the likeness of God, so Yes we can and should control our desires, but God definitely could have made the science behind evolution happen, I'm not gonna say He couldn't have
Yea, um I'm sorry but that MLK speech was about racial equality. Ya can't just jump on an old band wagon like its the same thing. I support that people should be able to choose how they wish to live and I don't think anyone should be persecuted based on their personal choice. However, I know the bible does not in any way condone same sex marriages, relationships, or intercourse.
@iarno2 I already showed you Paul is not likely refering to homosexuality. But, of course, you apparently have your prejudice and you need support for it. I am relying on the Lord's word, but you are not bothering to discover the context in which it is written. If you don't know what Paul was refering to you are very likely to distort the meaning of God's word.
@iarno2 So when you have no response that's what you resort to - I have spoken the lord's word for those who want to hear? That's what you say, really? Excuse me but I didn't know the Lord had appointed you as his official spokesperson. You might be interested to know that I too, believe I am following the Lord's word by seeking His Spirit and reading the Scriptures.
@iarno2 the text in I Cor. 7 in no way provides a boundary of hetersexual relationship or singleness. Your argument from silence (that the Bible does not support homosexual relationships) is no more valid than an argument that since Jesus never spoke against homosexuality it must be ok.
@iarno2 What I am saying is that requiring multiple sex partners both hetero and homo is WAY different than someone who has not chosen his/her sexual orientation and simply wants to be accepted. Aphrodite worship was idolatry because it put that horrible god before the Lord.
@iarno2 There are 5 texts in the Bible that have been used to hammer gays. NONE of them pass scrutiny. That includes Romans 1. For example, most scholars believe Romans was penned from Ephesus, home of the temple of Aphrodite. All aphrodites were required to have sex both ways. Looks like Paul was writing against the idolatry of Aphroditism and not against homosexuality.
You are all completely ignorant if you for one second think that homosexuality and Christanity can coexist. i do believe that god made us a certain way so we can reproduce, two men can not and two women can not it takes on of each. Adam and eve not any other way. Anyone that this offends to bad you have been letting society affect your religious beliefs for too long. A true believe and Follower would never even flirt with the idea being ok.
@dswat926 It is not about letting society effect my religious beliefs. It's about letting the Word of God effect them. I'm afraid it is you who are allowing right wing religious politics effect your religious beliefs. And that's very, very sad.
HERESY! I'm only going to speak on this once, but to accept sexual immorality itself is a sin. Leviticus 18 describes all those which are under the condemnation of sexual immorality to include lust, homosexuality, and even beastiality. This is another example of the world affecting the church instead of the church affecting the world. And woe to those who call good evil and evil good. I will not tolerate the twisting of my Father's Word to accept what is un-natural and wrong.
@Hortos1 -Says you. It doesn't bother me if someone says my God does not exist because I know that one day all nations will bow before Him whether they bow out of the grace given to them or whether they bow for their kneecaps will be broken with a rod of iron. My question is why are atheists bent on disproving a God they believe don't exist? I don't believe lepruchans exist therefore why would I waste my time trying to prove they don't exist to someone who does believe in them?
@iLESToner "bow for their kneecaps will be broken"....Why will they have broken kneecaps?
The vast majority of atheist don't go around trying to disprove the existence of all the gods. The vast majority also realise deities can't be proven or disproven. It seems to be the theists who have an agenda of trying to get the rest of society to believe their particular version.
And anyone who condemns homosexuality because of an evil god in a bronze-age book is a fool.
@Hortos1 You might have noticed that this Christian video does NOT condemn homosexuality and niether does the Bible which you might be interested in knowing was written well after the Bronze age.
@landsdown44 I never accused this video of condemning homosexuality. I was referring to iLest's comments. Yes I'm aware of your views concerning the bible and homosexuality and like most people I completely disagree with them so let's not get into that again.
Although I happen to know that religion isn't a prerequisite for personal fulfillment or moral maturity, it's good to also know there are religious people who don't feel the need to justify petty bigotry by calling it "God's law". No creator of the universe would embarrass herself by making rules about how to get off.
You cannot compare sexual orientation to the color of your eyes! Even if your tellin me that you have biological predisposition to become violent comitin the act of killing someone is your responsibility because it was your choice! It is the same for our sexual orientation! Nways I just hope God opens your eyes
No your right. Jesus doesnt reject anyone based on their sexual orientation but that doesnt mean in any case that he approuves it. homosexuality is wrong to the eyes of God (lev 20:13) n the Bible clearly admits that.We have no control over our flesh Bfore accepting Jesus in our life the flesh controls our desire, our choices, decisions. This is the importance of his sacrifice. I'm sorry but this is so wrong.
@MayMayboris Yup, Jesus embraces everyone and doesn't reject some based on their sexual orientation, something no one has choice about. Wouldn't that be like rejecting someone because they had brown eyes! We have no more control over our sexual orientation than over our eye color or skin color.
1corinthians 6:9Or do you not know that the unrighteousb will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived: neither the sexually immoral, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor men who practice homosexuality,
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
The UCC is so special! I guess what I love is that in the UCC you can abort your fetus without guilt or shame. That is so wonderful. And can't it be said that, in a way, if you abort your child you are sacrificing it for God? Isn't God pleased by the modern day equivalent of child sacrifice? Or was that Molech. Or Baal? Damn.
@sexybrowneyes7425 I'm thinking everyone who calls upon the name of the Lord will be saved. I have that based on a rather good resource, the Bible. You may want to send someone to hell because they don't agree with you about homosexuality, but you don't happen to be the judge, and Jesus never said anything like that.
(Continued)... Homosexuality is "paiderasste" so why would Paul use a new term to define what he wanted to say?? The answer to that is simple. Look at the root word of sodomites. Sodom was a city destroyed in the old testament for it's sin. Particularly its homosexual acts. Remember the men of Sodom who told Lot to let them at the angels who came to stay with him so that they could "do acts" (as the hebrew literally translates). What kind of acts do you think they wanted to do??? Play poker and
@MyLifeIsSetApart If you do a word study of "arsenokoitai" you will discover that it does literally mean "male bedders". It most certainly does NOT mean "sodomites". However, if it did your point still would not be supported. The crime of the men of Sodom was homosexual RAPE. Further, Ezekiel tells us the reason Sodom was destroyed. See Ezekiel 16:49.
While I will most certainly agree with you as to the fact that the term in 1Cor6:9 is indeed the same term as that used in 1Tim1:10, I would disagree with you as to your definition. You define the Greek word "ARSENOKOITAI" as meaning "male bedders" But you are incorrect. The term actually is better defined as "sodomites". Meaning that you are correct again in stating that it is not the 1st century Greek word used for Homosexuality. The Greek word used in the 1st century for homosex
I'm just wondering how you can explain away 1Cor6:9? The text in the original Greek refers to both the passive and active partners in consensual homosexual sex. And directly says that they will NOT inherit the kingdom of God.
@MyLifeIsSetApart I don't "explain away anything. The greek word in I cor.6:9 and the same word in I Tim.1:10 is a word that literally means "male bedders". Sounds like homosexual. However, that was NOT the word used for homosexual in the 1st Century. That begs the question, why would Paul use a word that was not used for homosexual? The liklihood is that Paul was NOT refering to homosexuality but to some other sexual behavior he opposed. His readers knew but we don't.
@MyLifeIsSetApart (Continued) Further, that word in Greek has never been found anywhere in the New Testament or in any secular literature of the day. For anyone to claim today, that Paul was definitely refering to homosexuality is to put a theological bias into the text, something that should not be done. Translations of the New Testament that have the text say "homosexual" are inaccurate.
@landsdown44 (Continued again)... re-tell old stories?? Not a chance!!! Paul used this term because Christians reading the letter would have copies of the old testament and thy would be able to connect sodomy to acts of Sodom. I mean this in the nicest of terms, and I'm not trying to start a fight or namecalling match. But if you can't see homosexuality as wrong in the bible you are simply blinding yourself and searching for loopholes.
@Unbeginner I'll help you out. This video is focusing on people who make up the church, you know, those folks who proclaim that God is all inclusive, who cares for everyone. See, it's really not all that difficult.

Funny how this brainwashing shit of a video forgot to mention "Mass murdering, Violence, Untimely death, Terrorism, Disease, Rape, Hate, Sorrow, and Racism, only for Gods favorite creation!"
@ReykjavikTraceur Thank God for videos like this that reveal what Jesus of Nazareth is REALLY like. Too bad people who write idiotic comments either don't want to or don't have the capacity to comprehend this great thing!
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
@landsdown44 Really? In what way does this reveal anything about "Jesus if Nazareth"? You really must have an IQ parallel to an avocado to believe not only what the church stuffs down your throat, but also that there is some great sky-wizard controlling not only your life, but the death of thousands of other people.
@ReykjavikTraceur You refer to mental incapacty and then you proceed to demonstrate that you know less than an avocado knows about Jesus of Nazareth and what he taught.
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
@landsdown44 Okay, let's not stray off matter here. My goal in life is certainly not gathering as much information as possible about "Jesus of Nazareth", which I repeat is nowhere mentioned in this video and has been brought up and woven in-topic by your numbness. Now, on topic, are you denying the existence of negative values and virtues in this world? Because I see them every day, in the media, out on the street, just pretty much everywhere.
@ReykjavikTraceur It is strange that you feel compeled to demean the Christian Faith and you apparently know next to nothing about the teachings of Jesus of Nazareth. Here's a suggestion, why not base your comments on something that 's fact instead of stuff you make up.
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
@landsdown44 It seems you are incapable of providing logical points in this debate. I would ask; What am I making up? What does my knowledge of "Jesus of Nazareth" have to do with this? Why is it you must mention the man in every comment you make? This will be my last comment, and you will probably believe you have "won", when in fact there was no competition. I feel ashamed for having this debate with you, as you obviously have the judgment of a 5-year old. Good day.
@ReykjavikTraceur For starters, there is no "sky wizzard" in Jesus' teachings. God does not control life and death for me and thousands of others. If you want some "give and take" mutual respect is a good place to start. If you can't do that, I'm out.
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
wow. there's a lot of people coming on here just to get their opinion out there. People you can debate as much as you want but if you really want to know the truth, look for it. Experience it yourself. A real God WILL respond to someone who's sincerely asking him. I dare you, seek him cuz you're gonna find him. Trust me, i'd know, ive experienced it.

check romans chapter 1 starting at verse 16 it talks about what God thinks of homo sexuality and yes when God instituted marriage he said a man and a woman become one flesh with each other the problem is people only want to hear the parts of scripture that makes them feel good if you don't think homosexuality is a sin then you are disagreeing with the word of God because he clearly speaks about his position on this matter
@theinvinciblecracka Sorry, you're wrong. There is no record of gays not living long in Jewish community. Paul wrote Romans from Ephesus, home of the temple of Aphrodite. All Aphrodites were required to have sex both ways. Was Paul condemning homosexuality or was he condemning idotatry of Aphrodite? We don't know. As for Lev.18:22, three times prior to that verse was a warning not to do what they did in Egypt and Canaan. What went on there was male prostitution. It's an anti prostitution text.
@landsdown44 Um no I read this text. I think the aphrodites were what we today call hermaphrodites, because having a genetic issue like that, at the time, would not be easily understood. Nor would it be easily dealt with, so instead of being forced to pick and stick like they are today they may have been required to go both ways because people thought God meant for them to be that way. It's not like they could really choose their sex, Their were no plastic Surgeons.
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
@theinvinciblecracka No, he really doesn't speak clearly about this issue. OT Law that is now nullified by Jesus and a couple of letters that were written to specific people at a specific time does not clearly give this issue a clear answer.
@SerJahPhoto Gee, where again was that where the "real" Christ condemned same sex marriage. And BTW, this site is NOT about sex outside of marriage. Also, I am well aware of the 5 Biblical texts use to hammer gays. None of the pass scrutiny. And to your point, Jesus never once mentioned homosexuality, unless of course, he had some secret conversation with you.
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
@landsdown44 you know why Jesus never said a word about gays? He came to jews, and there was no need to talk about it, cuz gays didn't live long in jewish community.. If you're familiar with the gay texts in Bible, you should know how jews treated gays... Anyway, for you, mr. Smart there is special word from God. If you know the truth and don't live it, you'll be beaten more severely.
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
So of all the words that were flashed in the video, I saw nothing of "CONVICTION," or REPENTANCE." Any true believer knows that the first step in leading a new life where you recognize Jesus as your lord and savior is to repent of your sins because of the conviction you feel, and then to accept. The rest of the words shown is the result of a changed life done to you by God himself. Not telling the whole truth is like not telling the truth at all.
@Superbee4401 If your post is accurate, then you have a huge problem with Jesus. He often did not call for repentance or conviction, certainly not prior to showing what a new life is like. If you ever read the Gospels you will discover this.

I can't believe this.
keemahslove8inchrist 1 month ago
@keemahslove8inchrist God has always broken down our prejudices and boundaries to bring in those who have suffered at the hands of others. BTW, the Bible does NOT see homosexuality as an abomination. The 5 texts in the Bible (Gen. 19, Lev. 18:22, Rom.6:9, I Tim. 1:10, Rom. 1:16-27) which are used to hammer gays, have all been abused in the attempt to oppose homosexuality.

also your lifestyle is so important to you, but what is most important to you your freedom to live as you please or to commit your life to a life geared on pleasing God and walking with him? the bible says we die in our old life and live new with Christ so regardless of if its sin or not what is your highest priority to please God or yourself? this is the heart of the issue
TheHhrussell 2 months ago
I realize that you who identify yourselves as homosexuals wrestle with the issue (especially in confrontation against "Christians") that the convictions you have regarding your orientation are not wrong. If you believe in the Lord and see yourself as a Christian than my question to you would be how involved are you with your partner? Gay or strait if you are sexually active and not married that's considered fornication and that is a sin. I would encourage you to make a change in your life.

If God judge’s u by the Ten Commandments will u be innocent or guilty? Heaven or Hell? Does this concern you?
Do u need a Savior from your sins?
Jesus (The Son of God)came, lived a sinless life, died on the cross (for our sins) and rose again on the third day.

Hortos1 5 months ago
@Hortos1 Before you make such a momentous decision I recommend two very short books, THE GREAT DIVORCE by C.S. Lewis and LOVE WINS by Rob Bell. Your view of God is evil and wants to torture people eternally are dealt with very clearly and honestly.
landsdown44 5 months ago
@landsdown44 Yeah that's not going to happen. I could be wrong but isn't The Great Divorce a work of fiction?
And Love Wins appears to be one person's interpretation of hell and God's views on it. A controversial view at that.
I am always amused when people seem so sure about the inner workings of the mind of God when there's no reason to believe he even exists.
Hortos1 5 months ago
@Hortos1 The Great Divorce is a novel about people who had the opportunity to take a bus trip from hell to heaven. Lewis contends that hell is not about punishment at all. In fact almost everyone on the bus prefered hell. The reason: they had come so far from genuine love and compassion and especially the source which is God, that they were blind to how calous they had become. Genuine love repelled them.
Love Wins is a study of the scriptural passages on hell and an outstanding conclusion.

"You can think whatever you want. At the end of the day what counts is if you know Jesus. Without him you are doomed." = Religion.

Hortos1 5 months ago
@Hortos1 Hold on a minute... God doesn't cause you to go to hell. You do that yourself. Would you rather have God force you to be with him? That would be torture dear friend. To have a God force you and him to be together for eternity. Instead God lets you choose for yourself. Hell is the one place in all the universe where you won't have to ever hear of Jesus or God ever again. But my question to you is, why would you not want to be with Jesus forever? Jesus is perfect. May Jesus Bless You.

"God is still speaking" ???
A while ago it was stone tablets. Not bad.
Meurglys33 5 months ago
@Meurglys33 God IS still speaking and if you think it's through tornadoes or hurricanes etc., that's your problem. You might as well read tea leaves. I have a better idea. Why not try the teachings of Jesus of Nazareth, found in the four gospels of the New Testament. There, see, even something written.

AfroWalkerSamurai 8 months ago
@AfroWalkerSamurai What is clear is you try to make the Bible fit your prejudices. If you bother to find out what the context of a passage is you will not get away with your prejudice. God is like that. One's sexual orientation is not glorified in any spiritual work that I know of, gay or straight. And Jesus never said one word against homosexuality.
landsdown44 8 months ago 3
@iarno2 One's sexual orientation cannot be a sin since it is not chosen any more than the color of one's skin. You really need to take another look at the basics of morality if you are attempting to equate rape and pedophilia with one's sexual orientation. Pedophilia can be an addiction but that is no one's orientation. Surely you can do better than that. And how self righteous of you to accuse me of being lukewarm when you are the one rejecting people God created.
landsdown44 8 months ago 25
@landsdown44 Sexual orientation is not a choice. If you have a dick you, you are a man. If you have breasts and a vagina you are a woman. You are not born as a man and attracted to other man, or as a woman and attracted to other women. That is a choice you make as you grow up based upon some feeling you recieved at some point in your life that you accepted as your truth. But it is not true. There is no gay or lesbian gene in in your dna. Homosexuality is not a race do not ever compare.
jsdemetrius 3 months ago
@jsdemetrius While sexual orientation is not a race it is VERY comparable. Just as no one chooses one's race, no one chooses ones sexual orientation, regardless which sex organs one is born with. I can't tell you how many gay people have told me how terrible they felt when they came to the realization that they were attracted to people of their own gender. That's the last thing they wanted especially because so many see it as "wrong" and many family members reject them. You simply got it wrong.
landsdown44 3 months ago 4
@landsdown44 Realizing an attraction to the same sex is just like some adult realizing they are attracted sexually to little children. Pedophiles are just as convinced that there attraction is acceptable just as much as homosexuals are. There is a law that convicts pedophiles, there should be a law that convicts homosexuals. I LOVE homsexuals, pedophiles, adulterers, prostitutes, rapers, I JUST DON'T LOVE WHAT THEY DO. Homosexuality is NOT A RACE because it is in the MIND, not the BLOOD.
jsdemetrius 3 months ago
@jsdemetrius So are you also admiting that realizing you are attracted to the opposite sex just like realizing you are sexually attracted to little children? If that is true of you everyone must hide their children when you are near. The point is just as there is a huge difference between heterosexual sex and pedophile sex, the same is true of homosexual sex. As for wanting homosexuality to be a crime, there was such a place, Nazi Germany, and it's a crime in Iran too. You keep bad company.
landsdown44 3 months ago
@landsdown44 Homosexuality is NOT A RACE because it is in the MIND, not the BLOOD.
I noticed you had no response to that comment. Instead you tried to belittle me and dodge the true point of the conversation. I love you sis and I love homosexuals. Anyone bound by homosexuality needs to simply repent and change their ways. Becoming free from homosexuality is just a change of heart and a renewal of the mind. God(Jesus) can help them. Don't defend sin, cause sin cannot win. Nice rhyme:-)
jsdemetrius 3 months ago 2
@jsdemetrius I didn't try to belittle you. I just showed how ridiculous your comment was. And homosexuality is not just in the mind any more than heterosexuality is just in the mind. And BTW I am not a "sis" and I am not gay.
You should also know that one cannot just "change" their sexual orientation. I spoke with a leader of the Exodus movement (praying out the gay). He told me it simply did not work and who should know better than him.
landsdown44 3 months ago
@landsdown44Homosexuality is NOT A RACE because it is in the MIND, not in the BLOOD. My point still stands, there is NO HOMOSEXUAL GENE OR DNA IN THE BLOOD, therefore the LUST they have for the same sex is in their mind and emotions. Any unholy LUSTFUL stronghold can be destroyed with the help of God(Jesus). Dont trust a leader in the exodus movement, trust God(Jesus). Nothing is impossible for him. Homosexuals can be set free just like any other sinner. Im done nice chatting much love:)

JesusIsMyLife333 2 months ago
@JesusIsMyLife333 God has shown me the right way, to be inclusive the way Jesus is. The devil isn't blinding my eyes. Jesus has opened them. I do read the Bible, every day. There are 5 texts in the Bible used to hammer gays. They have all been abused. Actually, the Bible doesn't condemn homosexuality and you shouldn't either.
landsdown44 2 months ago
@landsdown44 I don't condemn homosexuals or anyone else in this world. Because I am not God and I shouldn't condemn anybody. Only God is able to condemn us. But I will for ever say there is no such "race" as homosexuality. Woman was created for man, and man was created for woman so that when they get married, they become as one. You should pray God and ask Him to answer you what is truly ok and what is not. God bless!
JesusIsMyLife333 2 months ago

JesusIsMyLife333 2 months ago
@iarno2 Actually no, the Bible nowhere supports you and you clearly have made no attempt to discover the context for the passages in question. Your argument from Adam and Eve is meaningless. What you completely ignore is someone who may live in a heterosexual body but has a homosexual orientation. Apparently your answer to them is "sucks to be you." Well, Jesus is way better than that. He does not judge anyone for a situation not of their own choosing.
landsdown44 8 months ago
@iarno2 I seek the meaning of the Scripture and follow it. You apparently don't care what the context is which makes all the difference. When you fail to seek context you fail to discern the intent of the text and you distort God's word. What you don't get is that no one chooses their sexual orientation. I didn't choose to be heterosexual. I discovered that's what I am. So what you are saying is God punishes people for something they can't change. Plus the Bible doesn't even support you.
landsdown44 8 months ago
By the way;
“‘If a man lies with a man as one lies with a woman, both of them have done what is detestable.
AfroWalkerSamurai 8 months ago
@AfroWalkerSamurai When reading texts this old, one needs to know the context in which it is written. Three times prior to this text a warning is given not to do what they did in Egypt and Canaan. Their religious practices included male cult prostitution. It is likely that this text is an anti-male prostitution statement. Notice that there is no prohibition against lesbian sex.
landsdown44 8 months ago
@landsdown44 Um yes, but There was no lesbian prostitution. It was a male controlled society plus they're wasn't any support of female prostitution after the ten commandments. Such things weren't even expected to happen. Due to the way women were isolated and treated there was no real leeway in a woman's life at the time to allow for them to even think of being with another woman.
AfroWalkerSamurai 8 months ago
@AfroWalkerSamurai That answer just does not work. People have natural instinct to live out their natural sexuality. Besides, that's not the major issue in the text anyway. The text is a warning against male cult prostitution, not homosexuality. Male cult prostitution would be seen as treason against the theocracy of Israel.
landsdown44 8 months ago
@landsdown44 to say its peoples "natural instinct" to be homosexual doesnt make it right. We have natural desires to have sex all the time but that doesnt mean we should do it with just anyone or anytime. And if you believe in God then you believe that he created us and that we havent evolved from animals. We arent animals so we should be able to control our natural desires. Homosexuality is wrong. End of story.
JennieRebecca1 8 months ago
@JennieRebecca1 And there is nothing in the Bible to condemn homosexuality, not Gen. 19, not lev. 18:22, not Rom. 6:9, not Rom. 1:26, and not I Tim. 1:10. That can easily be shown. And just where is that text where Jesus condemns the homosexual orientation. Something so imporant, surely he spoke of it often.
landsdown44 8 months ago
@landsdown44 the story of sodom and gomorrah. for centuries people have believed that story to be condemning homosexuality which is why its been shunned for so long. now all of sudden its about male prostitution?? youre accusing other people of changing the bible to fit what you want to believe but to me thats what youre doing.
JennieRebecca1 8 months ago
@JennieRebecca1 If you bother to actually read the text you will discover that it is not the story of Sodom and Gomorrah that has changed, but folks are beginning to see that story for what it is. Read it sometime. Further, Ezekiel 16:49 gives another reason for the destruction of those cities. They cared nothing for the poor. Hmmmm.
landsdown44 8 months ago 2

AfroWalkerSamurai 8 months ago
@iarno2 I already showed you Paul is not likely refering to homosexuality. But, of course, you apparently have your prejudice and you need support for it. I am relying on the Lord's word, but you are not bothering to discover the context in which it is written. If you don't know what Paul was refering to you are very likely to distort the meaning of God's word.
landsdown44 8 months ago
@iarno2 So when you have no response that's what you resort to - I have spoken the lord's word for those who want to hear? That's what you say, really? Excuse me but I didn't know the Lord had appointed you as his official spokesperson. You might be interested to know that I too, believe I am following the Lord's word by seeking His Spirit and reading the Scriptures.
landsdown44 8 months ago
@iarno2 the text in I Cor. 7 in no way provides a boundary of hetersexual relationship or singleness. Your argument from silence (that the Bible does not support homosexual relationships) is no more valid than an argument that since Jesus never spoke against homosexuality it must be ok.
landsdown44 8 months ago
@iarno2 What I am saying is that requiring multiple sex partners both hetero and homo is WAY different than someone who has not chosen his/her sexual orientation and simply wants to be accepted. Aphrodite worship was idolatry because it put that horrible god before the Lord.
landsdown44 8 months ago
@iarno2 There are 5 texts in the Bible that have been used to hammer gays. NONE of them pass scrutiny. That includes Romans 1. For example, most scholars believe Romans was penned from Ephesus, home of the temple of Aphrodite. All aphrodites were required to have sex both ways. Looks like Paul was writing against the idolatry of Aphroditism and not against homosexuality.
landsdown44 8 months ago
You are all completely ignorant if you for one second think that homosexuality and Christanity can coexist. i do believe that god made us a certain way so we can reproduce, two men can not and two women can not it takes on of each. Adam and eve not any other way. Anyone that this offends to bad you have been letting society affect your religious beliefs for too long. A true believe and Follower would never even flirt with the idea being ok.
dswat926 9 months ago

It doesn't bother me if someone says my God does not exist because I know that one day all nations will bow before Him whether they bow out of the grace given to them or whether they bow for their kneecaps will be broken with a rod of iron. My question is why are atheists bent on disproving a God they believe don't exist? I don't believe lepruchans exist therefore why would I waste my time trying to prove they don't exist to someone who does believe in them?
iLESToner 10 months ago
@iLESToner "bow for their kneecaps will be broken"....Why will they have broken kneecaps?
The vast majority of atheist don't go around trying to disprove the existence of all the gods. The vast majority also realise deities can't be proven or disproven. It seems to be the theists who have an agenda of trying to get the rest of society to believe their particular version.
And anyone who condemns homosexuality because of an evil god in a bronze-age book is a fool.

Just respect each other and that's all.

MayMayboris 10 months ago
No your right. Jesus doesnt reject anyone based on their sexual orientation but that doesnt mean in any case that he approuves it. homosexuality is wrong to the eyes of God (lev 20:13) n the Bible clearly admits that.We have no control over our flesh Bfore accepting Jesus in our life the flesh controls our desire, our choices, decisions. This is the importance of his sacrifice. I'm sorry but this is so wrong.
MayMayboris 10 months ago 2
is it me or this video is approving homosexuality?
MayMayboris 10 months ago
@MayMayboris Yup, Jesus embraces everyone and doesn't reject some based on their sexual orientation, something no one has choice about. Wouldn't that be like rejecting someone because they had brown eyes! We have no more control over our sexual orientation than over our eye color or skin color.

Play poker and
MyLifeIsSetApart 11 months ago
@MyLifeIsSetApart If you do a word study of "arsenokoitai" you will discover that it does literally mean "male bedders". It most certainly does NOT mean "sodomites". However, if it did your point still would not be supported. The crime of the men of Sodom was homosexual RAPE. Further, Ezekiel tells us the reason Sodom was destroyed. See Ezekiel 16:49.
landsdown44 11 months ago 18
@landsdown44
The Greek word used in the 1st century for homosex

uhh....did I just see a same-sex marriage?
MrCharrrles 11 months ago
@landsdown44
I'm just wondering how you can explain away 1Cor6:9? The text in the original Greek refers to both the passive and active partners in consensual homosexual sex. And directly says that they will NOT inherit the kingdom of God.
MyLifeIsSetApart 11 months ago
@MyLifeIsSetApart I don't "explain away anything. The greek word in I cor.6:9 and the same word in I Tim.1:10 is a word that literally means "male bedders". Sounds like homosexual. However, that was NOT the word used for homosexual in the 1st Century. That begs the question, why would Paul use a word that was not used for homosexual? The liklihood is that Paul was NOT refering to homosexuality but to some other sexual behavior he opposed. His readers knew but we don't.
landsdown44 11 months ago 4
@MyLifeIsSetApart (Continued) Further, that word in Greek has never been found anywhere in the New Testament or in any secular literature of the day. For anyone to claim today, that Paul was definitely refering to homosexuality is to put a theological bias into the text, something that should not be done. Translations of the New Testament that have the text say "homosexual" are inaccurate.
landsdown44 11 months ago 6
@landsdown44 (Continued again)... re-tell old stories?? Not a chance!!! Paul used this term because Christians reading the letter would have copies of the old testament and thy would be able to connect sodomy to acts of Sodom. I mean this in the nicest of terms, and I'm not trying to start a fight or namecalling match. But if you can't see homosexuality as wrong in the bible you are simply blinding yourself and searching for loopholes.

theinvinciblecracka 1 year ago
@theinvinciblecracka Sorry, you're wrong. There is no record of gays not living long in Jewish community. Paul wrote Romans from Ephesus, home of the temple of Aphrodite. All Aphrodites were required to have sex both ways. Was Paul condemning homosexuality or was he condemning idotatry of Aphrodite? We don't know. As for Lev.18:22, three times prior to that verse was a warning not to do what they did in Egypt and Canaan. What went on there was male prostitution. It's an anti prostitution text.
landsdown44 1 year ago 93
@landsdown44 Um no I read this text. I think the aphrodites were what we today call hermaphrodites, because having a genetic issue like that, at the time, would not be easily understood. Nor would it be easily dealt with, so instead of being forced to pick and stick like they are today they may have been required to go both ways because people thought God meant for them to be that way. It's not like they could really choose their sex, Their were no plastic Surgeons.

Any true believer knows that the first step in leading a new life where you recognize Jesus as your lord and savior is to repent of your sins because of the conviction you feel, and then to accept. The rest of the words shown is the result of a changed life done to you by God himself. Not telling the whole truth is like not telling the truth at all.
