The evolution of recent human history has been dominated by minority control over the majority, the rulers have come up with nessesary illusion for compliance and servitude of the many, Science and technology has created a world of plenty, but the market mechanism is about artificial scarcity to perpetuate poverty and exploitation in a modality of war,enviornmental destructions,animal cruelty and so on . The "Class War" that Chomsky talks about in this audio, is the enormous effort by the Business Community to undermine, and destroy Labor Unions in this country. (The U.S.) It's been going on for a long time! It peaked in the "Reagan Years." Managements goal has been to undermine the basic rights guaranteed by The 1935 Wager Act, or National Labor Relations Act. The basic method of this successful Anti-Union War, is illegally firing thousands of workers for exercising their rights to organize.

By the sound it you do not agree with how the working classes live their lives or with how they are oppressed. Also you seem irritated at the fact that the majority of the population lend their consent to the authority that keeps them in mental and labourial chains and tries to keep you in them 2. However, the reality is that if we are to go beyond this dire state of society then the majority must be brought to see the chains they are in and to believe in an alternative enough to throw them off.

Thus it would be prudent for someone like u who knows what the chains look like and advocates an alternative organisation of society to try your best to persuade others what their chains are taking away from them and how things would be better in Anarchy. It is obvious that telling them to fuck themselves will not gain you their support but instead is likely to re-enforce their prejudices against alternatives and their faith that the status quo 'has its disadvantages but is the best thing going'

Besides, being found favourable by others is particularly important for anarchists because as far as I can see it the only workable anarchy involves deeply established solidarity; strong feelings of obligation towards members of the group; a strong commitment of individuals to ensuring justice and peace by their own actions and a high level of respect given to every person in a society. This appears to be the only alternative to resolution of inevitable conflict without established authority.
