still bumping this album today feb 1st 2012. i remember the first single elevators, music video was crazy! 2nd single was atliens . the truth of the matter is any one of these tracks could have been singles!!
wow!!! so many memories i was a junior in high school when this came out having so much fun and had not a care in the world listening to good hip hop. this and red mans muddy waters was my fav in 96.then in 97 Wu tangs Triumph was my graduating theme wish i can go back 2 them days.
I remember going to BEST BUY in the summer of 96 to scoop this CD....this song educated me.....music now doesn't do that....right on to the real...death to the fakers..peace out!
i hate how many people use the same comments to get thumbs up, i love sts9 and in peoples they have a part that has memorries of yesterday and outkast and sts9 are my favorite artists both from ATL,much love to both
5 People truly Don't understand the meaning of true hip hop. I'm 15 years old and i understand that the old folks are right about hip hop. Lil wayne is overrated a lot of times because the 80's - 90's contain the best hip hop by far. Hip hop is transitioning into something that soft of brainwashes people of the day.
Can some one who grew up in the South during the 90's answer me this was Outkast more important, as important, or less important then rappers like Pac,Big,Nas,Snoop,Jay,Pun,L to y'all during this era of the 90's
Why cant this Hip Hop come back??...Its so Much better than this new school hip hop........Are people really that stupid that they cant realize what real music is?????
@LONDON1KaZR Maybe to me it's that way because I listen to great MCs(Rakim,Lupe,Kane,Pun,Big,Nas,Jay,Melle Mel,G Rap,Common,Talib,Mos) is the reason I judge so hard
@HipHop226 Big Boi is a great MC he got the smooth natural flow and lyrical skills for days aren't you listening to this album Aquemini, Southernplayalistic, Stankonia, all their albums he's one of the greatest to come out of the south he's better then Lupe and Melle Mel and I think that could be fact bottom line is Big Boi is no slouch he even does better then Dre in some songs only a great MC can do that ya feel me
@HipHop226 I respect your opinion but Big Boi is definitely lyrically better then Luda, Big Boi is a Top 10 southern emcee or Top 10 greatest MC's his lyrical content stands out from all of those mc's and is diverse he could tell stories as well (art of storytelling) the only ones I agree with you on those are Scarface and maybe Bun B but either way we both have respectable opinions and lets keep listening to real Southern Hip-Hop
@RAthaPunisher Word man...Luda aint too bad, he just has a lil too much fun in his jams. Its this new kid named Big KRIT that be jamming hard. He a young guy, probably younger than most heads in these comments, but Big KRIT gives me that feeling of Kast, 8Ball MJG & UGK....Hip hop sure has changed yall aint it?
wow what a coincidence.. i stumbled upon OutKast and read manhatan39's comment while looking for inspiration for a Jesus Tattoo that i'll ink on me some day.. possibly soon.. haha.
if anyone knos any websites that has sick tattoos, im in need of a little help for some ideas.
@BIGDADDYJOHNSON27 One of Outkast's best albums ever. But now when I get on youtube and start listening to 90's hip hop I feel like every song is one of the best songs ever..compared to the stuff out now. I was in college at Morehouse in ATL when this came out. GREAT MEMORIES!
FYI: Google the lyrics, so you can really understand what is being said. Some folk adding your own words, and this joint right here, don't need any extra stuff added, or nothing taken away. It's Real, REAL real! Gotta love the stuff that hits the soul.
Man, entering the last year of high school, rollin in my homeboy's Chevy Lumina (The grey ghost) or my 4-dr buick Lesabre, basketball.......everytime I hear this im there all over again....
@nma305 There's still plenty of good music man don't let the mainstream cover up the good stuff. There will always be good hip hop that's what's so great about it you can try to get rid of it but this shit will never die.
I bought this tape in my sophmore year in 96 from BlockBuster Music..It stayed in my walkman forever man. Then I got my drivers license and the same tape was put in my tape deck....damn I miss High School. No bills, no stress, no responsibilities. Just me, my friends and this tape in a 92 nissan sentra......
@Coolyfett HIGH SCHOOL....Your comment brought back so many memories.First Blockbuster Music.lol were the hell did they go.Walkman lol welcome to 1996.Ahhh High School nothing to worry about in the moment life.Only thing different was my car it was a 1971 Buick Lesaber damn what a car.
@thahendersons Yea man toward the late 90s the cassette tape was starting to fade out. but I remember the CDs had cost more than the tapes...I was working at publix as a bag boy at the time. I eventually got the CD cause the tape eventually got ate in a tape deck. Remember high speed dubbing? Before we could burn CDs we had to high speed dub. My mama bought me a sky pager in 1995, but I had to pay the bill for it. Did you have a pager?
@Coolyfett when me and my friend would sneak out of the house, we would play this whole album cover to cover. when the streets are empty, the world is cold and quiet, and it's 4 in the morning in the winter, this album sounds 1000x better than it already is (hard to imagine). good times
@15VCfan Hey man...high school should be one of the best times in your life. Maybe you attend a bad school man, but as an old head Im telling ya...get them grade up, go to college and this this money. It will bring so much Vagina in your mid 20s & 30s....I wish an older head told me this when I was younger.
@Coolyfett u speak some truth, i sit back and reminisce bout this song and my high school days to, 1998 senior yr hotboxing my homies camry and bumping these classics, we've all gone are own ways in life, started families but all i gotta do is listen to these tracks and its memory lane all over again. All that 90's hip hop was the shit, outkast, bone thugs, 2pac, biggie.... good times
@SensiRootsBoy Im C/o 98 also...90s hip hop, the source magazine when it was good, the last days of turntable parties, not CDJs, but actually vinyl spinning & no laptop programs, some cats had Discman players some had Walkman players. This was right before No Limit & Cash Money came in and...well yall see where we at now. Yall see what the kids is riding to now. Even when us cats is in our 50s & 60s this 90s hip hop classics will remain.
I suppose Andre 3000 is a physic...Everything he's speaking about in the 1st verse is happening now and has been for a while...over a Decade and people are like WTF?
@manhatan39 Everybody has their interpretation of what God is so I wouldnt label it a single entity. My God is the universal energy. And the power of love, music, words, and every being in the universe contributes and builds that energy source. I mean my opinion doesnt mean much.....idk why I said it....but...I just had to say something deep since im listening to such a beautiful track
Autumn leaves must fall down , growin old! Fat titties turn to tear drops as fat ass turns to flab. Souls that was open wounds eventually turn to scab. Trees bright and green turn yellow brown. Autumn caught em. See Autumn leaves must fall down. Growin Old!
13TH FLOOR GROWING OLD I THINK SUMS UP HOW EVERYONE FEELS...90% OF PEOPLE HATE BEING FORCED TO WORK...HATE CAPITALISM...HATE SEEING EARTH DESTROYED BY GREEDY CORPORATIONS...HATE PAYING TAXES TO CURRUPT GOVERNMENT...HATE THE STEROTYPES AND RACISM IN AMERIKKKA HATE ITS 2011 AND STILL NO REAL GROUND BREAKING INOVATIONS...POISONING MY GROCERIES..CHEMTRAILS...FLUORIDE MY WATER...LAWS LIKE 3 STRIKES, NO CHILD LEFT BEHIND. MAKES ME WANNA HOLLER HOW THEY DO MY LIFE- MARVIN GAY
Great song and it brings back so many great memories. I was 18 years old and I remember going up north to my friends cabin with my friends and a few girls and sitting down and listening to this entire cd. It forever is burned in my memory. Nate (586) 651-7384 if you feel the same. Im from Michigan.
my first album at 7 yrs old. i was lovin this album even though my little mind didn't yet encompass everything they were trying to say. goes to show you that outkast weren't just lyrically impressive but created astounding beats too; this track is proof of that.
so glad to be a child of the 90s. they really do not make music like this anymore. amazing song. loved it since the album dropped and it still has the same goosebump effect on me.
im mainly a metal guy when it comes to music and only certain rap hits me right because im so picky with it and this it. this is real rap, not all the crap thats out there today. just look at the difference between the fans. everyone here seems smart with some musical knowledge not bashing eachother compared to the pathetic crap they call rap today. been listening to these guys for years and years
Make you want to fill the tank wash the chevy and just ride thru the streets from the eastside(decatur) to the westside(zone 1) then the southside (campbellton rd)
'Brooklyn' was born to this song. Number 13 in her Daddy's truck. The CD player always said 11 so I could never remember. But it 'Tis my favorite. hopeful, always.
'Brooklyn' was born to this song. Number 13 in her Daddy's truck. The CD player always said 11 so I could never remember. But it Tis my favorite. hopeful,
I agree about the art. As mush as I love this album.....Southerplayalistic is still my Outkast album of choice. Followed by Aquemini. Thats saying a lot considering how good this album is. Reppin the south proper....better than all others.
i am literally ashamed to be brought up in this era of music we have today.
Luckily, my father would ALWAYS bump this album when i was a kid. I respect him so much for doing that. i have the opportunity to know what REAL music is.
They say Lil wayne is the Best Ever" , hell even as a youngin, i KNOW FOR A FACT, 3 Stacks or Big Boi take the #1 spot all day. And this song does nothing but prove my point.
"souls left wit open wounds eventually turn to scabs..." wow!!! this song still makes the hair on my neck stand on end...iv yet to hear a lil wayne joint do that
Now hootie who wants to oppose? Suppose We rolls through Headland and Delowe where me and my niggaz surpassed the flow And got down for ours like hind catchers My mind catches flashbacks to the black past while mindclosed niggaz laugh at The Southern slang, finger waves and mojo chicken wangs I grew up on booty shake we did not know no better thang So go 'head and, diss it, while real hop-hippers listen Started by Afrikan Bambaata, so you and your potnah Gather your thoughts... gotta b top 5 mc
i feel born again being re-introduced to this pure example for what hip hop is supposed to be ive grown so accustomed to "hoes" on my dick i appreciated this alot whoever uploaded this
everytime i hear the piano, i feel my heart open up and water rushes into my eyes. the tears don't fall, but i know they could.

@SuperSF4yeaaa
