Nothing like a bit of licience. It was a nice County, still is a nice County with nice towns like Portedown, my 1st home town. Centre of the Universe, well my universe. But I have never heard it described as "lovely". Neat, tidy and compact, and efficiently run. but I have "lived" in about 10 others, all equally super. Variety stops you getting bored with any of them. Rule planet Earth. It's the only one we have. All One needs is a proper job.
Armagh...one of Ireland's most beautiful counties. They call it the'Orchard County'.......know a girl from there..so what about..'The girls from the County Armagh'.....from lovely places like Portadown, Richill, Crossmaglen.
Lovely song, lovely Bridie singin, Lovely province, says an excile saffron Antrim, wish we had county songs like this - and even better wish the lovely BRIDIE WAS A GLENS WOMEN, instead of Donegal - saying that, come on Donegal this SATURDAY and get through to the semi finals of the all IRELAND, we need SAM BACK IN ULSTER
@angelusmortis1412 Thanks, we gave him a good send off - I got pissed with his mates - he worked in construction - heard some interesting stories. He lived in Hackney East London. He was very well liked and I was moved by the turn out - only 65 years old. There are no words...
My grandmother was buried today , my auntie sang this song at the furneral this was her favourite song :( it made everyone cry ... am sorry about your dad my he rest in peace
@iwantgoldeneye Thanks for your words. I gave a speech and blubberd thru it - but I was determined to get thru it. I said I had regrets (about spending time with him). We have to appreciate the ones who are still with us and don't let work get in the way. I lived in the north when I was very young. I don't know what's in the water over there but they seem to produce people of character - I have the temper, that's for sure!
My mammy and you will be doing a duet with this one Bridie ---both gone and both sadly missed

Rest in Peace, my mother and father loved you. We grew up protestants, but your music in 60s and 70s was great, we grew up with, brill, and thanks.
