I still don't grasp the concept of economy picking. Alternate picking stays alternate picking. Sweep picking stays sweep picking. Ok. I get that. He said "when crossing strings switch to economy picking. Mmm...anyone care to illuminate a poor old tymer? Good lesson, I am the problem.

I love that he is using a clean-ish tone.

IMHO - that speaks VOLUMES about his ability to pick / play cleanly.

Don't get me wrong: I LOVE the heavily distorted tones,

but when showing / teaching, I feel it's most effective to have a clean type of tone.

Great job ... I'm now a fan.

I`ve never heard of this type of picking before, although i`m sure I have listened to it many times. Speed playing has always been a problem for me, your demonstration has just made me realise that technique wins for this syle of playing.

I tried the first demo in A min 7 and got it pretty much streight away..
