  • does the drilling part hurt alot? im really scared im gonna get it soon!

  • I hate the water. It feels like im drowning and im scared to swallow the water.

  • @WoWDemondays The dental assistant should be there with the suction during the procedure to remove the excess water with the HVE, so, if she is doing her job right you shouldn't have a problem with this :)

  • I never got any shot for any of my fillings. I can tell you now, it doesn't hurt at all. I don't get why everyone needs to get numbed just to get a cavity filled. Its not that big of a deal and I have three fillings and nun of them required me to get my mouth numbed.

  • michelle is one foxy chick...

  • It didn't hurt at all...but my dentist numbed the area where he was giving the shot with some gel stuff, so I didn't even feel the needle. Makes me sad that I moved to another state since and I have no idea if my new dentist will make it that comfortable :/

  • i have had one in my front teeth and he placed a metal thing in the gum right behind the tooth that normal

  • i just had 3 fillings yesterday i had a hell of a time flossing it was hard to floss i also have to go back and get 6 more fillings i dont get it i there not even hurting i dont see why i need this many fillings ill have 14 teeth filled there all in back

  • I've never had a cavity, but I've always been super scared of it being nothing but a burning pain in my jaw. But now after watching this video I feel a little more secure in case I do have to have a cavity filled. Thank you :)

  • Im so happy my dentist lets me use my Ipod during anything i have to go at the dentists. ugh i have a filling tomorrow... havent had one since i was like 8. gahhhh :(

  • you are nice person but the way you talk is making even more angryyyy

  • As long as they're are no MOLDS, I'll be tottally cool. Needles don't scare me, neither do the drills. I need way more than one, and haven't seen the Dentist in quite some time, but something tells me it won't be that bad. These videos help alot.

  • @AticEnigma25 You can eat anything that you normally would on a composite or "white" filling. It will slightly discolor over time though, but very minimally.

  • thank goodes. :p was so nervous about my dentist apoinment in two days. :p my dad was trying to freak me out with all this scary crap. but i knew he had to me kidding just to scare me. but after the video. not nervous anymore. :D

  • Advice: If they have tv/dvd or music available use it...it helps block out the sound of the drill and keeps your mind off what is going on. Or just bring your ipod. :) Im a DA

  • i have to have 10 fillings done im scared to death lol any advice anyone

  • @AticEnigma25 lol! i have five! omg me too

  • @AticEnigma25 uh how often did u brush your teeth?

  • @masen136 come to find out i only had 6 not 10 got 2 filled tuesday i brush 2 times a day but i didnt floss till recently and i havent been to the dentist n a long time so thats probally one of the reasons and i drank alot of coke i mean alot now i dont anymore.

  • @AticEnigma25 You can be predisposed to having bad teeth due to genetics. People dont understand that the PH of your mouth has a lot to do with it. Im meticulous with my teeth and still have cavities. My friend isnt and has never had one.

  • @AticEnigma25 Im pretty sure u probly had it done by now but fillings to me arnt bad at all im 14 and terrified of the dentist and needles . I have had like 6 fillings and am always scared when i get there but when its being done its easy to me , its just best to think of something else lol .

  • @AticEnigma25 you dont do all of them at the same time. lol i've had a filling done before, and you dont feel anything. all i felt was the drill and the needle. im getting a filling done today anyways. lol

  • i got 3 Filling done today did not feel anything had to wait a hour which Sucked but all in all Very Easy

  • i have a filling done tomm should be easy also a tooth pulled

  • i dont want a shot :((

  • @ginue02 wordd. im scared :|

  • Well thats got rid of the fear of the needle but now im worried bout the drill

  • Dont tell us about the cheek distraction!! now i'll expect a jab if my dentist goes anywhere near my cheek

  • Comment removed

  • thank you soo much it helped me calm down and now what to expect it went great but they had to numb it like 4 times so is that normal ? and PS im 11 and just got a filling it did hurt a little bit and i dont know why??

  • is it normal to be 13 and have a filling? :L

  • @porkypine71 Not at all thats the time in life that most people get fillings

  • @porkypine71 i had me first filling done on an adult tooth done when i was 10 and havent had any others since. so yeh if your adult teeth have come through and you get a hole yes it is normal

  • 1 persona lost all their teeth in an accident.

  • what is the cleaning agent called that they use before a filling

  • O lord I'm qettinq my fillinq layer on I wa so exicte to qo now I'm scared to death !

  • I got four fillings today, the dentist put like a numbing pack thing on my gum before the injection so it didn't hurt, just a little pressure.

  • @ChocolateMuffinEater yea what he did was add a topical anesthetic to ur vestibule so it would numb the nerve endings and so u wouldnt feel much pain when he added the injection

  • I'm 31 and have had my 4 fillings since 7th grade. I'll be needing mine re-filled pretty soon. :-/

  • How much is an avrege white filling???????

  • Comment removed

  • @AyeeeitsSimran she said she was a dental assistant not a dentist

  • im not scared of the drill - its the freaking needle!! it like- doesnt even want to go in.

  • i had one an hour ago

  • i had one today

  • i just had a filling done today without a shot.

  • how was it, I need one tommorow without the shot :/

  • it was alright, but you will feel some pain with no shot. tell me how was it for you when you get it done.

  • Hey, I just got mine done yesterday, it wasnt too bad, didnt feel much, i guess it was just on the surface of my tooth

  • @alboss13

Who cares? She came and she told what you are to expect, I'm not here for a professional speech.

  • cheesey.. Get it done! The longer you wait, the deeper/worse they will get. A little novicane and you will be numb..no worries. Do nothing and you will be sure it will be worse, cost more and could lead to premature tooth loss. Just do it! :)

  • I'm violently aprehensive of the drill!

  • @Champ675 same here.

  • i used to be super afraid of fillings because i've always had pain, but lately i've been gettng the white powder fillings - they take 5 minutes and are painless!

  • i got a filling today. i have had filings before.. but today was the single most painfull experience of my life.. the tooth rejected the anesthetic so i felt it all :S it hurt so much.

  • yeah really, i have no insurance and it might hurt way more to see the bill

  • ms..most cities have clinics where good Dr's donate time to service the poor. The state will pay them something, so they do it. Go for it..a yuky mouth is nasty!

  • I'm not too worried about the pain a filling may cause, but what worries me is the money to spend!

  • i've gotten 4 or 5 fillings and they don't hurt at all. i barely even feel the shot, it's just a small sharp pain but it only lasts for a few seconds.

  • i got to get 8 fillings

  • i got to get 2

  • Its all in your head, seriously. It doesnt hurt. think about somethin else.

  • I want them to give me laughing gas. I have to be held down to get a shot in my arm. And I've had shots in my cheeks, and that hurt more than my nose piercing.

  • The shots will sting. It's obvious, but they shouldent hurt that much you'll be screaming in pain. Useully they will put a gel near the area he's going to inject so you can't feel it as much.

Iv'e had 2 fillings and going for one soon, so I know.

  • The shot doesn't hurt at all. It's all in your head.

It's not like they wave the shot around your face and there's all this anticipation before it gets put in, they just randomly put it in.

  • I usually go through without any anestesic - come on, it doesn't hurt THAT bad, I did a shot(two actually) only when a cavity was exactly next to my nerve - I got it extracted(the nerve)

  • I have to have a filling in my very back molar (not my wisdom tooth). I have to have an injection. Will it hurt, i am so nervous about that.

  • it's 100% in your head.... getting a skinned knee hurts worse

  • I'd rather skin my knee. Lol. Even if they randomly put it in I can still feel it.

  • Well if its going to be in the back, they have to inject it to the back of your mouth, don't worry, it doesn't hurt.. but you will feel the pressure in the back of your mouth while its going on.

  • i have to get mine done this thursady i afternoon i had fillings before i have 4 cavities i just hate the sting it really annoys me

  • i have to get 2 fillings today at 4:30. ive never had any so im really freaking out right now.

  • I am going to get mine done in and hour.....Wish me luck! haha

  • lol i had 9 cavities done today, 4 numbed shots :o and a hour of work, trust me lol its not that bad. It didnt hurt at all o.o not even the shot, i didnt even feel it. The only thing that sucks is ur mouth gets tired of just being opened after awhile, and the numbing last for awhile. But nothing bad, the drill was nothing, and thats basically all. Pretty simple and easy

  • I had 2 cavities done without any numbing once...IT HURT SO BADLY!!!! i guess the dentist missed my nerves because my cheeks felt numb, but I could feel my teeth getting drilled away. He tried giving me more shots, but it didn't work, so I had to deal with the pain...

  • Is there any pain while they are drilling, or after when you go home?

  • once your tooth has fallen asleep after having your mouth injected, the drill doesn't hurt. it is really bumpy on your tooth though. and there is a chance after the numbness on your mouth has worn off then the pain begins to kick in!

I had 2 fillings done today and they didn't hurt one bit!

  • I had one and it didn't hurt

  • no none at all

its just so weired while they are drilling though cuz your brain is like" this should be hurting" but its not

oh and food for half an hour once your done so the filling can completely solidify

I'm a total expert in fillings cuz I don't brush at all ;)

going to get 4 more today

  • no, after you are numb for about one hour in a half, there is no pain. you can't eat anthing after the numbing for 2 hours. wait until the numbing goes down to thepoint where you can't feel it.

  • r they sore . . a hate dentists and a need to go get a filling tomorrow and not looking forward ti it :(

  • the griding and pressure is the worst part i just had one today

  • Omg am going for mine is like 2 hours am not sceard of the drill just the needel!!!!

  • The shot is really quick and it just feels like a quick prick in your gum. The worst part is just the feeling of not knowing what is going on and the drill is shaking your jaw making it a little sore and there are all those instruments in your mouth. I also hate it when they stick the "explorer" in the cavity before they fill it. That hurts!

  • The thing that annoys me afta its all numb when they say wash your mouth out and slit it in the sink then when you do it it like all drewls out

  • How long do they take?

p.s. this video confirmed everything I was afraid of.

  • So youre afraid of the water from the drill? Afraid of drowning from that?? O.o

  • No, the needle. ;_;

  • lol i was being sarcastic! ^^! its k.. well i had a filling b4 and its wierd.. they shove teh needle up the gum adn then i feel my gum squeeze in and and and... liek.. it hurt a lil for me..

  • @IglooDweller around 40 minutes the long part is waiting for your gums to numb

  • U sure about that? Im getting a filling next Thursday and I was told I would be done within a half hour

  • @alx2925 They mostly last 40 minutes, 30 minutes or less means you have a pretty small one

  • It took about 40 minutes today for my filling, wasnt all that bad, but there was some very slight discomfort when the drill was used, but nuthing to complain about. One thing that I didnt like was it took A LONNNNNNNG TIME for the numbness to go away.

  • @alx2925 Yeah then after the numbness, at least for me, My cheeck was hurting a lot from where I got the shot

  • @IglooDweller the most painful part is the anesthetic shot that is not painful by any means. usually you can hear the drill but that can be cured by listening to some music. goes by very quickly.

  • @IglooDweller only 5 to 8 minutes

  • i have to get 1 of these soon im so scared.

  • ahaa im the same im jsut wondering what to epect this video helped

  • It's ok.Ask for sarajet which is a numbing agent that goes on the gum so you won't feel the shot. After the shot your flying high all you have to do is open your mouth, sit back and relax.

  • Not that scary :l only thing is I get numb and stuff and all they did was sorta sratch my tooth :l

  • You would've had it by now... How'd it go?? :/

  • I've had about 18 fillings and I'm young, is that normal?

  • Im not sure, try Yahoo Answers

  • Not good I think it just means you need to take more care of your teeth you can get gum diseas my mom never eats candy she always brushes her teeth in the morning ALWAYS! But she had to get 13 fillings :l

  • thats probably because she isnt brushing properly, ask your dental assistant or hygenist how to brush properly. she is probably missing lots of areas. and the ideal is 2 times a day, not just in the morning.
