I just bought the Rockford Fosgate p1s4's and they are really not that bad at all. Pushing them with a mono 500 amp and 500 is the peak and they are keeping up with no problem... upgrading to the T's soon and then with some JL AUDIO 12w6's.

These Rockfords also keep up with my Hertz Audio ES 300 SPL subs that rate 96.1 SPL but the rockford p1s4's are a little less rattle in the house next to me... they are not a SPL sub by any means but they are solid and consistent

Now, i can guarentee you that 1 12" 3xl will over-power the kicker L7

The P300-1 is a very good amp for the money and especially for its size. Mine powers my 10W1 pretty damn well, way louder than I anticipated, but the amp can easily handle 2 middle grade 12's like you have here. All the RMS trash talk is garbage... people are idiots saying that you can't just post 300 watt amp... It doesn't say Sony Xplod anywhere, does it???

MTX is top of the line right now. Rockford has been going downhill in the past couple of years due to the fact that their engineers moved to MTX. So rumors say. And it shows, because Rockford hasn't produced great subs like their old H models. I wouldn't say there is a TOP brand, because each brand is good in specific areas. But Kicker isn't the top of the line either. They focus on more SPL than SQ. But they do produce decent SQ for an SPL brand.

@SLAYER1805 the P300.1 amp he has running to it sends alot more than 300 rms. Most send a little over 400 rms. So each sub is truly receiving a TRUE 200 rms+. I'd say 180 rms would run these fine. Set your gains correctly, and tune your amp properly and you should be fine. Rockford makes quality stuff. :)

What amp did you pick up? It depends on what you're looking for. But I'm personally a SQ guy over a SPL. SPL, you can buy a cheap powerful amp and bump, but it'll truly sound like shit in my opinion. I always will buy a lower power quality amp.

I have a Profile California Amp 700 watts 4 channel my tio gave me cause he upgraded everything, ive personally heard this amp in action powering two kenwood speakers and a blaupunkt 12" sub and it sounded great, imma bridge the amp to put out 180 watts rms to the RF P1

Profile used to make some pretty decent amps, I'd say that's a good combo. I tend to stay away from bridging my amplifiers, because my last 2-channel amp I played around with tended to overheat very easily. But it wasn't the highest quality amp. It was actually a low quality amp, I was just messing around with. But I'd say that'll give you a nice outcome.

I'm sure it'll be fine bridged, just check it out to see if it overheats. If your system starts to cut off, it means it's overhearting. Be careful feeling the amp if that's the case, some amps get REALLY hot. I wouldn't underpower the speakers with 60 rms. That could possibly hurt your speakers.

On a single channel amp.

The P1's are ALWAYS 4 ohm SVC woofers. So you hook one up to the P300-1 you'll get the 4 ohm load (150 rms), if you hook two woofers up the the P300-1 CORRECTLY then you will get the 2 ohm load = 300 rms or 150 rms to each woofer.

well they were obviously not hooked up properly. i have 2 Rockford Fosgate p1's running on a 600 watt amp. I've had them for about a year now, and there generally turned up pretty loud. Over-powering the subs can blow them but so can under-powering them. bad earth is the problem most people have.

I had 2 600 watt 12" Clarions running on the 600 watt amp i have now and they blow when i was doing a bass test turns out the wire inside the sub box was too thin. It's all about RMS.
