  • Thinking outside the box...Good for you. I too have been following Craig Vetter and his search for a practical motorcycle that will meet his challenge. 70mph, up to 30mph head wind, carry 4 bags of groceries and still get 100MPG! The Challenge has been set...so let's get to it! Craig Vetter dot com, see you there. :{)

  • Honda saw this, copied it and created the DN-01

  • My guess is that your MPG went up as you removed some frontal exposure to the wind. I've been following Craig Vetter and his aerodynamic bike for a while and met him in Ohio. I'm going to build an enclosed feet forward bike with heat and air using the CX500 bike as a base for the build. Seeing how they get over 50 MPG in stock form, aerodynamics can increase that substantially. The cx500 engine is one sweet powerplant. Very reliable and easy to work on.

    Nice bike.

  • Most die hard old schoolers will hate what you did. I commend you. Thinking out of the box, you made a ride that is more comfortable, more stable and way cool. I run into meat heads all the time who hate the idea of change even if it is for the good.

Motorcycles will have to change if they are to be one of the answers to our ever increasing gasoline costs. Enclosed bikes with heat and air, getting over 100 mpg while having superbike performance.

Anyone who hates this is just stuck in old.

  • Truly unusual - Good job!

  • @bunjit65 Hey

  • I threw up a little.

  • Me gusta!

  • ginius

  • Hey, just because this guy went a different direction doesn't make it a bad bike. Not really my style, but it is his bike.

  • i think its very comfort to ride.

I had cx 500 and it one of the better engins..

  • love it good job to your taste my man.

  • Pretty sweet idea not my style but it would take a nifty mind to work that out. Must be like a big lounge chair

  • Not Quite a scooter but getting there. Yuck

  • you my friend are brilliant! hahaha pass the Nachos! like an easy chair on wheels .. and looks very manuverable .. nice work

  • Man, that looks like a very good seat. I guess it is better for your back on long rides. Would love to see something similar on my Harley. By the way ... looks cool. Weird ...but cool. ;)

  • Is that bike well comfy over the miles? I'm now about to embark on a tour of your other video's.

    I LIKE IT!!!

  • Way to be different! Way too many "cookie cuter" bikes out there!

  • fuck em all you built it good on ya without people building things nothing changes a lot of pictures stills sketches etc but very few bikes, good job,

motocycles only for your sort to make a mockery of iit all

People like you ought to be locked up !!!

  • @reggiecx

    Oi! I resemble that remark.

  • @reggiecx with a welder and a big pile of parts

  • it was a 1984 model but the turbo is better

  • Looks nice, but sounds like a Rc car.

  • que chulada de moto

  • Great ride, it looks cool and safe to ride! Add one more seat in the same position, for the "old lady"! (just joking!)

  • Funny you and krazyjucedan have the same opinions on everything. I smell a troll!

  • Thats really cool. I suppose that the only way to get foreward controls to work without burning your knees on the heads.

  • CX500 pretty?

One one the ugliest pieces of crap ever.

This cx-periment though is fooking cool.

  • @krazyjuicedan You can buy CX 500's for less than a grand all day long right on Craigslist. Nice bikes ready to ride too. I think this guy has something cool even though I like the look of the stock ride too.

  • Hann- you're bike sure looks peculiar, but it also looks like a real comfortable ride as well-

It's awesome to see other CX enthusiasts out there who love this odd but revolutionary bike-

One question, though- how did you get the forward controls to work? I'd love to do a suicide clutch/jockey shift on mine ('81 CX500 custom)

Much love from the US of A- Twisty Twins Forever!!!

  • very funky indeed, but as long as it's functional and safe, who gives a shiiete what people think.

  • Really nice!

  • So at the NEXT Scottish CX Rally, if a bloke turns up on a UNICYCLE, does that mean that NEXT year you'll...?

:) Looks like it handles quite well . Hats off, Hann!

    BrendanO

  • ok im lending you my CX500 to do the same!

  • Hann - You are truly inspirational! Top job!
