One of those Men .. India's Finest .. With my heart full of Pride and Honor I salute his memory and thank him for his service to the nation. This is the warrior creed of Bharatvansh .. Nishchit Jeet.
In World War II Captain Sam Manekshaw, Indian Army was leading a counter-offensive operation During the course he was hit by a burst of machine-gun fire and severely wounded in the stomach. Major General D.T. Cowan spotted Manekshaw holding on to life and was aware of his valour in face of stiff resistance from the Japanese. Fearing the worst, Major General Cowan quickly pinned his own Military Cross ribbon on to Manekshaw saying, "A dead person cannot be awarded a Military Cross.
Quick march composed by L.B.Gurung. This tune is named after Field Marshal S.H.F.J Manekshaw, the hero of the 1971 war. Manekshaw had commanded a few Gorkha units, and was affectionatley called Sam Bahadur.
