  • @starburstyum789 theimpossibleproject.

  • if im using Polaroid im using it the right way which is the old school cameras, somethings are better left old to still have that touch of amazing to them

  • Polaroid has become another company that just slaps it's logo on other people's products and somehow makes a profit.

  • Digital is here to stay. I remeber my parents polaroid camera from 1970. It was cool at the time.

  • I think they should keep making Polaroid film

  • loool, fuji still makes, peel apart instant film that works with polaroid's earlier (but not earliest) cameras that is actually way better than anything polaroid ever made, and a company has bought polaroid's factory in the netherlands, and is going to have (ridiculously overpriced) film (the "shake it" type) on the market next year

  • my heart`s aching, bye bye polaroid :(

  • REJOICE SHUTTERBUGS! POLAROIDS BEEN SAVED the-impossible-project(dot)com

  • The website mentioned above is for real and represents a group that has INTENTIONS of reinventing Polaroid film and producing it in the Netherlands.

  • I love the fact that they are making the film but 8 shots for 21 bucks! killer...

  • That bastard... "reinventing and changing with the times to bring something else to the table that shows the rich legacy of Edwin Land and Polaroid to the next generation."

Perhaps Polaroid was good enough to bring to the next generation. I have, from experience, noticed that something old gets more attention and interest than anything new. I brought a Polaroid camera to school, and students begged me to get film for it.

  • please produce them again, pleeeeease!!!!

  • LOL "poilorode"

Seriously, though, why would they discontinue the film? I mean, companies still make 35mm film-and you can even still buy 35mm CAMERAS (but sadly some big-label companies have stopped making 35mm cameras) (on a side note, I saw that "poilorode" actually made 35mm cameras at one point and was suprised that they did)

That would be like if apple released a new music format on itunes that was incompatible with older ipods, and then ceased to offer the "old" format!

  • Kodak was making instant cameras and film, for a bit Polaroid sued them,

so when Polaroid, started making 35mm film, Kodak sued them , yet they can make 35mm cameras,

i have one , and it's a pretty good camera, for no zoom or anything, , but it came with some other film in it,

  • I have one. I only got 10 pictures left........

  • The constant begging to keep polaroid in on instant film is just simply stupid. Fuck polaroid! Fuji has been making instant films for years, even supplied polaroid with much of its stock anyway! Let this idiot go market the hell out of the name, we don't need the name, we just need good instant film, and fuji is already doing it folks. Stop bitching, stop moaning, stop begging, go buy what already exist! RETARDS.

  • There must have been a better way you could have phrased this.

For photographers - both amateur and professional - who have used Polaroid products for many years, this loss is heartfelt.

  • You don't seem to understand.

Many of us photographers already have switched over to the FUJI Packfilms. In my opinion the pictures that are produced by FP100-C packfilm looks sharper and much more color accurate than Polaroids 690 packfilm.

The only reason why I moan and bitch about the end of polaroid film is because they have discontinued there beloved consumer-use 600 film.

This stuff is irreplaceable, and no other manufacture seems like there going to produce it.

  • the-impossible-project (DOT) com

Integral film might make a comeback!

  • POLAROID NEWS - 2008

"Dec. 19 (Bloomberg) -- Polaroid Corp., the pioneer of instant photography, sought bankruptcy protection for the second time in seven years, blaming an alleged $2 billion fraud at its parent company Petters Group Worldwide LLC."

"Petters Groups founder, Thomas Petters, was arrested Oct. 3 on charges of mail fraud, wire fraud and money laundering. Prosecutors accused him of siphoning money from business ventures since 1995 to support an extravagant lifestyle."

  • This guy is an effing idiot. He's not continuing Land's legacy! Land has absolutely nothing to do with Polaroid tvs and digital cameras! Who the hell is going to buy that crap anyway?? No one! What a joke! It's been quite awhile since they announced this, but I am still deeply sad and shocked by it. This new owner is a complete moron.

  • I always wanted a poloroid camera. On the next chopping block is film photography :(

  • i wish they didn't stop makeing it!!!

  • Polaroid was one company with very good products, but with terrible marketing. Don´t get me wrong, I´m a huge Polaroid fan, since they stop made SX-70 and Type 809, I find myself unable to do more SX-70 manipulations end emulation Lifts. Its very sad that they stop just because there is digital. You don´t get from digital the same thing with Polaroid. It´s easy to make then in Photoshop but.....it is the real thing ? Where is the fun ?

  • Well.

    Theres Windows, Apple, and Linux.

    Theres Film, Digital, and Polaroid.

Itd be silly for Windows, Apple, or Linux to randomly pull the plug on themselves, wouldnt it?

  • EXACTLY!!

  • Incredible.

  • I'm not looking forward to when I get down to the last pack of Spectra or 600 film in my fridge. It's going to be bitter sweet taking that last shot if some company doesn't get licensed to continue manufacture.

  • Screw Petters. His bullshit about respecting the legacy of Dr. Land is just that, bullshit.

  • I know right? That pissed me off when he said that. He has no right. He's taking away Land's legacy, not respecting it one bit.

  • this sucks, why does everything have to big digital or the time, i mean we still have vinyl records, this is dumb

  • You know what, we all might not like hip hop music but we can thank them for keeping vinyl records alive. If it wasn't for their art of twin turntable scratching of records, both records and turntables would be gone already.

  • that is so true... remove the battery put more film....

  • The concept behind including the battery in the film pack was so that if you bought film, you wouldn't have to remember to put a new battery in the camera to take good pictures.

Of course, it made the film much more expensive and the good batteries were being discarded after shooting only 10 shots. Kind of a waste.

  • I bought the Polaroid Manipulation books, the Vivitar Slide Printer, Fuji Film, tongs, thermometer, and my pictures are not turning out. why is that?

  • bah

i'm so angry about this :(

    polaroids are my favourite

  • I did not see a notice on their website about the film being discontinued, or at least the 600 film.

  • It's stupid. I'm a photographer, and use Polaroid film for test shooting and just to suddenly stop that is making more work for us photographers.

  • Darn'it my Spirit 600 can no longer serve alongside my digital counterparts. I still have around four films left to use.

  • wow. he doesn't understand!!!

it's so wrong. and i will NOT buy any digital polaroid products. i absolutely refuse.

  • Sad.

  • ceo=douche

  • Ah! He just makes me so angry! He just doesn't get it...

  • This is making me sad :(
