It's completely amazing that some people just don't get that he's ridiculing the arrogance of American foreign policy. At a concert of his in Jackson MS years ago, about a third of the crowd loved his "Red Necks" as if it was a patriotic theme song for them. I've always loved the man. I guess no one performs with such cutting sarcasm any more.
The best dream man has ever dreamed in the 4500 years of our civilization is in process in the United States. There is not a single first world citizen that can say with assurance that they would not live under some non capitalist tyranny (left or right) if not for our efforts. You will no doubt question our motivations. What is beyond question are the results of our proactively promoting freedom and liberty. You don't have to be Einstein to recognize results without perfection.
More appropriate now than it was then! I agree with NYOperaDawg!

@CHINOOKCREEK Thanks for confirming what the rest of the world thinks - that a significant proportion of US citizens have had an irony by-pass.

@CHINOOKCREEK You are SO RIGHT. the Europeans seem to forget the little matter of the 300,000 Americans who DIED to preserve the freedoms of Europe.
