okay, I have a couple questions:

1. what's that you're smudging with? is it a sponge?

2. what pencils are you using? (6B-4H?)

3. what size was the paper you were using? o:

1. it's a cuetip. i smudge it with every layer i put on. it's really effective and makes work look extremely smoother

2. i mostly use prismacolor colored pencils. hardly ever regular pencils. but with anything i work light to dark

3. this video is with 14x17 strathmore paper. other videos i work on 16x20 canson illustration boards. and for a finishing touch i put on Krylon "Crystal Clear" Acrylic Coating. it protects the work, brings out the contrast and colors, and makes it shiny :)
