One of the first things I would ask upon reading the Sumerian creation story is that if they were really gods, why was it so much trouble for them to do simple agricultural work? If they were so powerful, you'd think they could do it all in a very short time with very little effort and not have to complain about it. Instead they create a slave race to do all the tough labor for them while they go on their fiestas. Nice bunch.
