jzenzayer brother... it doesn't have to get ugly.. we don't need to get stuck in our metaphors, just accept what your neighbor is and love him because or in spite of it, if you may.. the only real sin is to hurt each other actively or by indifference.. an old friend used to say that the least we can do is wave to each other. I think it is true to this moment..
to plunge the world in what I call a Scientific Depression. An age that exists today, where science-fiction is the major influence in real testable science. The result: empowerment for Karl Marx and his communist societies; strong base cause for many genocides in the 20th century; extreme reduction in the fear of God's Law, resulting in exponential increases of suicides, crime, murders, thefts, rapes, pre-marital sex, sexual immorality, and abortions in supposedly "enlightened" people.
This would have resulted in no United States, no enlightenment brought about at God's perfect timing by his servants like John Wycliff, Jon Huss, Martin Luther, and William Tyndale to finally put an end to Biblical suppression and allow God's Word to go free.... resulting in the choice of free moral agency (personal responsiblity) in relation to God and the age of ENLIGHTENMENT. Unfortunately, while Charles Spurgeon was bringing spiritual revival out of darkness, Charles Darwin's work is about
The Muslim Ottoman Empire was pushing in on the east, and pilgrims going to the Holyland were continually robbed, beaten, and killed by Muslim bandits. It was this that the Pope charged the Crusades to make safe the travel lanes to and from Jerusalem. On top of that, if the Roman Catholic Church was not here to unify and enlighten (by 5th century standards), the Muslims would have gone unabated into europe, forcing everyone to be Islam and/or to live under Shariya.
Since they were filling the vacuum that was by the Roman Empire, they did much good by establishing the first hospitals and stabilizing that period in history by uniting many of the nations that were once barbaric and unorganized. When the Muslim Moors ravaged all of northern Africa and then into Spain by the straits of Gibraltar, there was little to stand in their way until Charlemange's son was able to beat them back out of southern Europe.
It looks as if you should take your own advice, hommee. More lives have been lost in the 20th Century from war than any of the other previous century's wars combined. During the middle-ages, the Roman Catholic Church suppressed much, and the biggest was their control of Holy Scripture. It was not allowed to be read in any other language than Latin or by any unauthorized person. There were good points:
You couldn't be more uneducated on the subject of christianity. More lives have been taken in the name of christianity than anything else on earth. They also suppressed science and free thinking for a thousand years (The DARK ages). So where would the world be without religion and christianity? Two words...flying car's.
@hommee I'm talking about later in history, not back when scientist's thought the world was flat. THINK about what I wrote before you respond, and maybe I'm not as educated as you but my points are valid, surly you can see that.
It very well may be as good as you say, but I'm not taking your word for it.. and, I'm not going to discuss your theology in here or nowhere... you're becoming a nuisance.. bye.. thanks..
Everybody is talking about truth, if you don't want to use the Bible, why not check the facts. History tells us Christianity is the best thing that ever happened to the world. It stopped slavery in America, it changed the way we should treat women, voting, jobs. As far as compassion goes, it is a no brainer. If you don't believe it, look at other countries who were not founded on Christianity. Sure we are not perfect; look honestly at the world, where would we be without Christianity?
Sorry, I do not look for confirmation of nothing in any scriptures.. this is not a christian song, just a set of very pertinent questions.. who are you to say what is truth and what isn't? go preach somewhere else please.

@manoelcaraballo1 Jesus Christ said "I AM the way, the TRUTH, and the life. No one comes to the Father except by me." The crux of the situation is you either accept Christ (TRUTH) or you reject him. If you reject Christ, you will not be sent to Hell by some all powerful, maligned control freak deity, you will be served Justice by a Loving, Holy, and Just God, who is giving you a way to eternal life through His Son!! You don't have to work for it, it is a free gift.
If you wonder what you have done to deserve hell, just look at the Ten Commandments and see what God calls morality. By the way, Jesus said that if you look at another with lust, that is adultery, and if you hate another person, that is murder. Israel, right after Nebuchadnezzar razed Jerusalam and carried many into exile, said "the way of The Lord is unjust". The LORD replied "it is your ways that are not just... ...I will judge each of you according to their own ways". Eze. 33:17-20
It a crying shame that someone as talented as Neil should write such nonsense. The lyrics are devoid of truth and don't stand when brought to the scriptures for confirmation. There is truth within, but the truth is not ''joined up''.
Thank you Neil!
