Dave writes all the lyrics for Megadeth, it's not that easy, eventually he must run out of ideas. If you can't appreciate them how they are, compare them to something like Justin Beiber and be thankful that he's not making lame songs and can still make some pretty emotional lyrics like on 13.

Anyway, the lyrics aren't supposed to be all that matter. The guitars & instruments should speak to you just as much.

And I don't dislike this song. It's catchy enough, just saying the lyrics could be much more solid. At least if they didn't sound like a whiny kid angry about his parents. The instrumental part isn't anything special. It's a pretty generic song with generic lyrics appealing to who? 15 year olds who think they're rebels because they do things their parents don't like? @AaronGunk In the lyrics, for example, it's written 'you hate everything you've seen in me'. When EVERYTHING is just plain wrong, I would think you'd just dump him/her and get it over with. You hate your girl/boyfriend - end it and that's it.

The one(s) addressed in the song seem more like a parent with control issues over his child to me. And parents can abuse so much more than a girlfriend or boyfriend. It's possible, though.
