As someone who is afraid of clowns, I will explain the phobia.

It's the painted smile, the faked kindness. It's as if the extreme attempt to look nice, makes them look untrusting. It's the same reason that I'm afraid of dolls. No emotion, just inhuman smiles.

The first time I read the book I was home alone on a dark and stormy night. I was having a real problem going near drains that night, but my cat kept me safe.

This whole story makes me think how well IT would fit in with HP Lovecraft and his Cthulhu mythos. Another terror from beyond the stars to violate the sanity of Humanity.

I really hate clowns, and the film IT didnt make it better. The reason why I think many people hate clowns is because its scary that an adult acts more childish then children, since its not normal behaivor. Also its something with the colors I think the movie IT really expresses how a clown is to me. Nice vid by the way.

I re-read the book, all 1090 pages, every summer.(the pages beyond that are ref./acknowledgments) The book is a beautiful masterpiece, and just like a lot of other books/novels by King, its not all horror. The movie is so-so by comparison. There were rumors that another movie would be made, if they do, I hope they finally do the novel justice. <3

Well, its really not that scary after you turn ten, but you can tell even from the movie that the book was brilliantly written.

If DVD club is your local video rental store, then yes. If it isnt there, try Netflix or any other surrounding video rental places.

Why was this movie even called "IT".? After all he was both a clown and his true form was some sort of alien spider and or demonic spider. Plus I remember how retarded they defeated him by lunging some projectile

with a simple kids slingshot into what appeared to be an exposed area of what looked like a alien rib cage.

In the book, it explains why Pennywise was called "It"...in addition, in the book It wasn't defeated by the slingshot, but through a dramatic psychic confrontation with Bill and Richie. There's also a huge battle with It in the form of a werewolf that they cut from the movie version. This movie is a piece of utter shit, whereas the book is a masterfully-written classic. You'd be far more satisfied reading IT than watching this.
