First you outline it. Then invert colours. Then image, attributes and then click black and white, then ok. A question will come up press yes. Then invert the colours again. To invert go on invert colours, you proberly knew that already.

@crystalcat1 It doesn't look like anyone answered you, so I will.

If you're using MSPaint, you outline it in a color that's easy to see then make the lines black. Then go to 'image' and click 'invert colors' then go to 'image' again and click 'black and white' click 'ok' and then you'll just have the lines. To get your color palet back, go to image and reselect 'colors' then just invert the colors again and you'll have your lineart.

@crystalcat1 You mean the background image? Invert the colors after all of your lines are black and then open image properties. On the menu, choose the black and white option. That makes everything that is not pure white on your inverse black. then remove the inverse and change the properties back into color to work with it. Hope this helped.
