@CosmicHouseFan Not quite, but it's part of it. By raining drops on your flower, it'll grow, and the bigger your flower is, the more points you get. Most points win!
Just asking..How many year of programmation experience you have ? And how many months/year with XNA? I started software engineering in college 5 months ago and dude I'd like to be able creating a simple game like this one day...
@marcky89869 Sorry, missed this comment. When I did Ragu I'd been in university studying CS for four years, and previous to that took some programming classes in high school. You don't need much experience before you start making games, in fact it's a great way to learn. :) Just download XNA and start playing around with it. I think this was the first project I made with XNA.
ran across your demo video here and wanted to say i really liked the idea and art style! im currently working on my own game and i know how much work goes into making something fun and unique.
@srekel Maybe one day I'll have a controller to actually try some of these XNA games. Until then, how could I get in contact with this Teetow... would love a copy of this track.
(Oh, and thanks for replying to a question after so long. :) )
Well, it's free and stuff, it's just that I haven't really put it up for download anywhere yet.. I'll try and get around to that some time in the future.
That looks really cool and creative! I like that the idea is so fresh and different from other games. Do you have this for download on XBL Community games yet?
For XNA Game Studios 1.0, what graphics creator should I use? I mean, what do I use to create everything? Also, maybe it's cause I'm on my friend's vista computer, but when I download the visual c# express sp1 (or whatever it's called, but I know sp1's at the end), I try to install it but it says it has an error and the update may not be for any existing software. I need it to install XNA so where do I get Visual C# Express Edition SP1? Is Sp1 only for xp? HELP!
Looks good srekel. I would add a little spice though. Like "flight of the bumblebee" for music, faster bees, and have them dip a bowl-like leaf in a pond and have to race back through obstacles to get to the flower before all the water drips out of the leaf. :D
The point? :) The game play mechanics is explained above. The "point" of the game is to allow a bunch of people (2-6) play against eachother in a fun, family-friendly game, where each match only takes 3-6 minutes. Is that what you were after? :) I'm sorry the video doesn't really show the game with more than one player.
So it's really simple. We had a bunch of ideas we wanted to implement, but we didn't really come up with the idea for the bee game until about a week before the deadline (the physics engine had a bug which prevented us from implementing our original idea). So we didn't have much time, unfortunately.
The goal of the game is to make your flowers grow. Each bee is part of a team, which has a color. Each team has one or more flowers which they can grow by making sure it rains on them.
The larger the flowers are, the more points they generate for their team, and the first team to score 300 points wins!
This is epikz man , any update on this, i would love to see the finished game !!

This game would be awesome on the X-box. It kinda reminds me of Little Big Planet. (In some wierd indirect way)
Do you HAVE to get a premium membership on the website to put it up on X-box live?

Vector2.Position = 50f This is called Declaring Variables.
As u already have seen this variable is for the position of the player in the world.
Texture2D background;
Texture2D is a 2D picture.
It's all like this.
Public void's, vectors, matrixx's for 3d.
or just buy O'reilly's XNA 3.0 book like i did it whas worth it !
TheBazzPounderz 2 years ago
I don't totally understand what your asking now
What you do is:
define a vector2 "position" lets say
then you can say position.X += 1;
Shad12Dash 2 years ago
idk what you're talking about Xna can do those things

Oh my god that's cute! This is why I like XNA!
Has it ever been released for download, or was it just for that contest?
I love the visual style, it's a great idea! It's got some pretty decent physics too.

Oh I see. You're trying to make your flower grow with the rain clouds so you (the bee) can get some of that sweet goodness from the nectar.

The graphic style is awesome and the game runs smoothly, but i don´t get whats the goal of the game?
Well congrats lools great.

From first glance id say its to move the rain cloud over your seed to make it grow before the other guys.

Delightful art style. Amateurish but greater than the sum of its parts. The smooth physics gives it a real nice feel too.
