As much as I agree, there would crashes with people using marijuana as well. Marijuana is medically proven to cause hallucinating, distorted perception, paranoia, and panic attacks. When driving under the affect of using marijuana could cause a driver to swerve off the road and crash into someone else, possible killing them. Now, it's doesn't have as much the negative statistics of alcohol, but it just another contributor to the overall money that's need to be paid to cover these incidents.

This is never gonna end. As long as drugs are being made, people are going to do the drugs. You need to cut off the source of the problem. The drugs. No drugs, no demand, no market. But, it's pretty close to impossible to find all the drugs being made. There's also just to much money to be made. I'm afraid this will never end. We could legalize drugs, but that would cause a whole other set of problems.

Your right, if you legalized drugs like meth, coke, heroin, etc, I think that would cause more social problems and also over burden the health care system because of drug related illnesses. As long as there's drugs, there's going to be drug dealers. In order to stop the drug violence, one must stop the pushing of drugs. Like I said, I think it's virtually impossible.

But, if the cartels couldn't make money off of marijuana, then they would more likely produce more of the harder drugs like coke, meth, x, herion, etc. There would be more of the harder on the streets. They would have to increase the sales of the harder drugs to make up for the loss of not being able to sell the marijuana. But again, I say at least legalize marijuana.

But there would also be people who would try drugs just because their legalized. It's a big risk. Look at Spain. They've legalized drugs and their a peaceful society with a low crime rate.
