Im English and it is not as glamorous as this video makes it out to be but its still a great country, I have been to the USA and to be honest it is also a great country and I cant see any reason why you would hate being from there. England is basically America but with rain and cold weather.

The American accent developed after people from all over the world started to move to America and the accents mingled together to create todays American accent. Just like the English, Irish and Welsh accents created the Scouse accent in Liverpool.
I'm English and I'm proud of my country as you should be of yours, unlike most England is a very welcoming country so you can visit anytime and enjoy yourself, but I do believe that you should love and be happy with your own country too :)

I think this may be an example of the grass being greener on the other side of the hill. I was born and live in London, and I can assure it is not the twee and traditional city that many overseas people think it is. Most people in London are in the process of moving out, as they are feeling under seige from a tidal wave of third world migrants, and fearful of the violence and criminality that are everyday events.
I live in the UK it is cold, the government squanders billions, unemployment is 17%. However it is full of culture, old and new. Music, football, film. The UK is odd, unfair but never dull.

Especially if your my age (18), you can go out at night in big places which is good if you wanna get fucked, pull some skeets and if you enjoy a scrap. actually I just went from having a brilliant life style in Canada, to feeling like I'm living in a third world country mate, and if you get your head out of your ass you'll realize that 37 percent of people want to leave this country because it is statistically the worst standard of living in Europe. I just feel sorry for them because it is not always as easy to emigrate somewhere if you don't have duel nationality. And even then you have to accumulate money, which isn't easy in this country.

The beaches in england have 2000 fecal matter per 100ml of water. The British government has just been fined by the EU because it was 20 times over the safe limit. Whatever you consider a safe limit for sewage in the water that your swimming in and occasionally drinking. We were also just fined for spilling a load of nuclear waste into the north sea. And that's just at home, the BP oil spill off the coast of mexico covers an area the size of Europe, now that's a legacy to be proud of :)

As someone who's English, thanks for complimenting my country. But it's important you remember that every country in the world has areas which make you sick of it. Remember to stay patriotic to where you come from; USA's a great country - as is the UK. I myself actually want to leave the UK and live somewhere else some day, but I will always be proud of where I'm from, and will always fight for my country if need be. I actually envy how patriotic Americans are, and wish the British were the same

You want to do a comparison with canada, way way more beautiful scenery, ranked 3rd for education, house prices are half and the houses are 2 1/2 times the size on average, wages are higher, the summers are way hotter and less rainy, they have free health care, their water has a 30th of the pollution (our seas have 2000 fecal bacteria per 100ml and our drinking water is loaded with mercury and other metals, yummy) and their air has about a 5th of the pollution.

Hah, shame there's no natural beauty or wildlife like there is in Canada. I am a British Canadian and I would choose to live in virtually every other developed country in the world before England. It is only beaten on poverty by America and Russia (out of the industrialised nations) and is rated the lowest quality of life in Europe. If you want to live in quaint, but overcrowded Europe, you would do better to live in France or Germany or Scandinavia, they have a much higher standard of living.

To be fair, though, it's kind of easy for areas of the UK (or anywhere in the world) to be crime free if they are mostly white. I'm sure America would be MUCH safer if it we did not have minorities. N.Yorkshire is a fantastic part of England, beautiful countryside, lovely villages & market towns, great pubs, superb roads IE the moor road from Pickering to Whitby-huge smile per mile quota! York- arguably England's most beautiful city-steeped in history. In addition, it has some fabulous walks eg Hole of Horcum, Robin Hood's Bay to Ravenscar-awesome. Great for cycling too. Only Cumbria is more picturesque. N.Yorkshire=God's Country :)

@SuperFruitloopy I neglected to mention the superb museum's, such as Elvington WW2 RAF Bomber Command base, Eden Camp, York Railway museum, the York museum, Yorvik museum etc. If it rains in the Lake District, you are pretty much scuppered because most activity is based outdoors, it has few museums or other distractions, If it rains in N. Yorks, there are a plethora of museums to visit. Then there is the N.Yorks steam railway and the Pickering War Weekend-top stuff :)

@SuperFruitloopy None of the air in england is particularly good, this is because there are only 0.03 acres of forest person. Still double what is was a couple of hundred years ago, but then so is the population. Crime is still double the national average of Canada. The shoe shops are the most visited part of London, so what does that tell you. And I can't speak for others but before I'd ever come to England I thought it was a magical place (I was 2 months old when my parent went to Canada)

actually I just went from having a brilliant life style in Canada, to feeling like I'm living in a third world country mate, and if you get your head out of your ass you'll realize that 37 percent of people want to leave this country because it is statistically the worst standard of living in Europe. I just feel sorry for them because it is not always as easy to emigrate somewhere if you don't have duel nationality. And even then you have to accumulate money, which isn't easy in this country.

The beaches in england have 2000 fecal matter per 100ml of water. The British government has just been fined by the EU because it was 20 times over the safe limit. Whatever you consider a safe limit for sewage in the water that your swimming in and occasionally drinking. We were also just fined for spilling a load of nuclear waste into the north sea. And that's just at home, the BP oil spill off the coast of mexico covers an area the size of Europe, now that's a legacy to be proud of :)

You want to do a comparison with canada, way way more beautiful scenery, ranked 3rd for education, house prices are half and the houses are 2 1/2 times the size on average, wages are higher, the summers are way hotter and less rainy, they have free health care, their water has a 30th of the pollution (our seas have 2000 fecal bacteria per 100ml and our drinking water is loaded with mercury and other metals, yummy) and their air has about a 5th of the pollution.

Hah, shame there's no natural beauty or wildlife like there is in Canada. I am a British Canadian and I would choose to live in virtually every other developed country in the world before England. It is only beaten on poverty by America and Russia (out of the industrialised nations) and is rated the lowest quality of life in Europe. N.Yorkshire is a fantastic part of England, beautiful countryside, lovely villages & market towns, great pubs, superb roads IE the moor road from Pickering to Whitby-huge smile per mile quota! York- arguably England's most beautiful city-steeped in history. In addition, it has some fabulous walks eg Hole of Horcum, Robin Hood's Bay to Ravenscar-awesome. Great for cycling too. Only Cumbria is more picturesque. N.Yorkshire=God's Country :)

@SuperFruitloopy I neglected to mention the superb museum's, such as Elvington WW2 RAF Bomber Command base, Eden Camp, York Railway museum, the York museum, Yorvik museum etc. If it rains in the Lake District, you are pretty much scuppered because most activity is based outdoors, it has few museums or other distractions, If it rains in N. Yorks, there are a plethora of museums to visit. Then there is the N.Yorks steam railway and the Pickering War Weekend-top stuff :)

Still double what is was a couple of hundred years ago, but then so is the population. Crime is still double the national average of Canada. The shoe shops are the most visited part of London, so what does that tell you. And I can't speak for others but before I'd ever come to England I thought it was a magical place (I was 2 months old when my parent went to Canada)

@The1981Fixer Canada is probably one of the most beutiful countries in the world,there is not many who could compete when it comes to its breathtaking scenery,certainly not Britain,but we have other things too,thats why London is the second most visited city in the world ,behind Paris!...and i agree some parts of England have become a shit hole,but there is also lots of fantastic bits!

@The1981Fixer Take the time to go to York,Stratford upon Avon,Bath,the lake district,Durham,The cotswolds,..i had an American who came to stay,through my work,he was in total awe at the beuty of York with its cobbled streets and 5 hundred year old houses..go to Cambridge and Oxford and see the 1,000s of japanese,Chinese tourists!...England is an amazing place..you just need to know were to go!

@scotsman125 Can't say for definite as I haven't yet been to Malaysia but I wouldn't get too excited about coming here if I was you. Yes, there are lovely places in England and March is my favourite month in England as it's just the right temperature but there are also horrible areas in England and, depending on where you go, the natives can be extremely rude and often quite xenophobic.
Still, keep to the usual tourist attractions and you should love it.

This is not the uk that i know but rather holly woods interpretation of what the uk is like. The large cities are full of diversity, but we have many towns and villages that are still very much British.
