I also think his portrayals are not hateful; they are actually full of a deep, sad love for these women. Knipp grew up with these women in the South. His white portrayals are just as devastatingly accurate as his black ones. What're you gonna do?

weather or not you think this is racist..this is hardly clever or funny at all and is quite clearly targeted at an unintelligent, naive, and boring demographic (a la, blue collar comedy, larry the cable guy, etc..). These stereotypes are beyond stale and recycled.

husband is white-I'm no racist. This character isn't racist, but a white person portraying this negative stereotype in Blackface is racist. Whites dont have the same history of slavery and racial discrimination that Blacks do. Black women dealt with Massuh's taste for dark skin, Jim Crow, racist police, teachers, bosses, landlords and busdrivers, we were your maids. Generations of black children were denied education and never learned to speak or write English correctly.

I'm not saying don't go out and learn your history, but to use the errors of generations past to pass judgment on someone seems unfair. It's like saying that whites, just because of their race, should feel guilty. The way I see it is we're never going to move forward if we don't let go of some of the past. Definitely remember and learn from it, but realize that people have changed

As long as some white people are STILL doing "atrocious" things to blacks this sort of "comedy" will be offensive. @silverflyt There will always be racist people, racism is not something that is going to die there needs to be an understanding between parody and actual racism. He is actually imitating his adoptive mother who was a black lady that spoke like this. I don't see why blacks eating chitlings is relevant, especially considering that there are many whites who do as well. It's more of a regional thing, not racial. Besides, no one is forcing blacks to eat pig scraps, people actual ENJOY it.

Unfortunately, there will always be people who make something out of nothing. This is not a racist impersonation. This would actually fit right in with SNL's humorous skits. The funny thing about this is...I know White, Black , Asian and Hispanic women who behave very similar to this. Life can be funny, we all need to laugh at ourselves sometimes. :)
