Johnny Lin Walker was tried in a civilian this is correct.The difference with KSM is he is not an American citizen,he is an enemy combatant, the blood of thousands of Americans on his hands.(many more if he had his way)The 5th and 6th amendments to the Constution applies to American citizens( miranda rights,against self incrimination, as well as trial by jury,speedy trial) trying the shoe bomber and Massoui in civilian court was also wrong, Padilla, like Walker, was an american citizen

Seems to me that Cheney and his gang are dead set against these trials because they're afraid of what the prisoners are going to reveal to us.

This audio is just plainly false. This is not the "first time in our nation's history an enemy combatant caught on the battlefield will be tried in civilian court"

That distinction belongs to John Walker Lindh who was caught in Afghanistan and tried in federal court. U.S. v. Lindh, 227 F.Supp.2d 565

So the idea that 9-11 changed things was ignored by the Bush administration.

John Walker Lindh was exempt from being tried as a war criminal due to President Bush's November 13, 2001 Executive Order. Look it up,

Wow, I didn't know that. I still stick with what I said. Despite how Bush classified the man, he was fighting the U.S.A in armed combat and was captured on the battlefield. He swore an oath to Taliban and was trained by Al Qaeda. That to me is an enemy combatant.

What do you think about the broader point though that Lindh, Mauossoui and Padilla were all similar tried in federal court under Bush and no one batted an eye.
