  • Doesn't it seem strange that the wild card hand NEVER EVER folds before the flop? They either have a hand or decide to bluff, but NEVER EVER folds before the flop! Seems like they're told they have the wild card hand, but I do know they don't show every hand on TV. Maybe they just don't show the wildcard hand if they fold.

  • @bandet888 this isn't shown live. The whole main event except the final table is played before it's broadcasted on tv

  • @IIOverkill I kind of figured that, but that would mean Norman Chad already knows the hand and is acting because if they choose a hand after the fact that means Norman Chad already had seen it - unless they reshowed this hand with one card hidden (this time) to Norman Chad much later in which he doesn't remember every hand he saw. What do you think? I was told by others as well that they only choose the interesting hands.

  • @bandet888 I guess he is either acting or maybe they take the footage, edit it so those cards are covered up, and then show it to Norman Chad without him knowing that previously and record what he thinks on his first view of it, sort of like they do with the rest (except they probably have a script for everything else). I'm not sure at all though.

  • @IIOverkill It could be.

  • @bandet888 Please read my reply below for the answer you're looking for. It also makes sense if you think about how many tables there are and how many hands are played. There are WAY too many hands to comment on. So they only add comments to the ones that are going to make it onto television.

  • @dirtymuthafuzz I agree

  • @IIOverkill Actually no commentating is done live. Its against regulations. What actually happens is the entire thing is filmed and edited then the commentators watch it and add their comments. So the editors/producers choose a hand that would be a suitable wild card hand and block the hole cards. The reason its done like this is security. When there's millions of dollars on the line its quite reasonable as well.

  • @dirtymuthafuzz that makes sense. except its kinda funny how this year it WAS live lol

  • @bandet888 lol this is not a live show. Wild card is always played on an interesting hand to make the viewers interested.

  • @biraj619 Please read my replay to Overkill on this video - it was meant for you to read but I clicked on the wrong person to replay, lol I don't feel like typing it all over again lol. But I did kind of figured that they choose the hand after the fact.
