First time together? Pretty damn good outfit! They swung really well. A couple of blips maybe, but I enjoyed it, and I wanted it to last longer. After three/four gigs or more they could have been even better, tighter.
I didn't care for this. The guy on tenor was playing too much bebop for the context, which was "neo-swing," neo-Hot Club of France. He reminded me of alto player Lee Konitz. Nothing wrong with his improvisatory lines; he obviously knew his stuff. Yet it didn't fit with the overall concept, which makes me think he wasn't realy listening.

I play with David Blenkhorn sometime in London, he's also a terrific Blues guitarist, great taste, feel and technique, hi David see you at Boisdale!

Great little jam. That drummer knows what he is doing. personally when i would play dixieland i would have a problem with overplaying.

Thank you. This was the first time this line-up played together. I met David Blenkhorn for the first time that night. A fine guitarist!
