FINALLY someone puts in people who match the descriptions for at least Richard and Kahlan. I was tired of a brown eyed Kahlan and a skinny wimpy Richard. Look at him on the Temple of the Winds book cover for goodness sake!

I have to wonder if you have actually read the book. The Richard I felt was described in the books was a much larger ,though gentle man with a handsome yet rugged exterior. Not these little pampered , girly looking men. Richard become a hard, callous, and and very dangerous man who earned the fear and respect of the Mord Sith .Perhaps one of these other richards could tame the mord sith ,if they hit them with thier purses . . . . maybe .

And you forgot the fact that he is a RAHL. If you look at the date I posted this and compare it to the date the actual series aired I posted this long before I knew who they were going to cast for the series. These are just people that I thought could play the parts well. I only really like a couple people in the tv series. I like Bridget Regan, I like the guy who plays Darken Rahl 'cept he's not blonde, and I like Denna and Cara. And the series is super cheesy, there have only been a couple okay epis imo.

after having read through all 100+ comments I guess I have a little more to say. Having watched the entire first season now and being 80% through the books I feel that most of the characters in the show are spot on. I love your casting for Demin Nass and George, but I think they did a pleny fair job in the tv show. The only thing in the show I would really change is Darken Rahls hair and the casting for Richard. I am absolutely in love with the guy they cast as Zedd (name escapes me).

The Zedd they picked is all right for the show. But to me, personally, he is irritating. It may just be the way he talks. Especially the way he says Rahl. I also don't like the fact that he comes off as being a lot less intelligent than in the books. IMO. But I suppose it's hard to have do much else besides wizards fire when they don't have a large budget to use on special effects. I just loved the way John Hurt played an eccentric old man in Indiana Jones. Thought he'd be perfect.

Really fantastic casting for the minor characters, especially the mud people. Props for getting Bruce Cambell in there, lol. I do have to argue wholeheartedly with you casting for Zedd. I think the guy they have as him now is absolutely perfect. I agree that Kahlan is cast well, but I don't think anyone could agree on who Richard should be. Outstanding cast overall though.

I know the show is just based on the books. No need for the large case. ;) When they made the choice for Craig Horner to be Richard I didn't really care. There was a big fuss over it but I figured just wait and see what the people they chose could act. IMO I don't really like Craig's acting. I LOVE Bridget Regan. She does an amazing job. I also LOVE Craig Parker. Wow. He captured Darken Rahl to a T to me. But for some reason Craig just doesn't do it for me. He did slowly improve. But not enough.

I don't think anyone would fit my imagination of Richard and Kahlan (although the statue on the Faith of the Fallen cover looks exactly like my mental image of Kahlan^^). But I just can't really find a Richard I would be happy with :(

Broken Keys by Jamie K. I originally had Hysteria - Muse but youtube made me change it. I actually like Bridget Regan as Kahlan. At first I was unsure but I think she does a good job portraying her. I can't say as much for the rest of the cast of Legend of the Seeker, but I suppose they do the best they can with what they have to work with.Denna- I picked Famke for her portrayal of Jean in the third X-Men. One moment she was crazy psycho lady, the next she is calm.

I don't think any of the other actors do well at all. They are cheezy and terrible. But she does a great job. Especially yesterdays episode where she started crying. I found it very believable. Those would be great choices. And very expensive. Remember, the producers really have no idea how well this show will do, and I'm sure they are working with a limited budget. There will be quite a bit of coin spent on the SFX and the scenery to give this a chance of working. But yeah, if money were absolutely no object, I can see every one of these people playing the characters listed. Nicely done.

That's actually a pretty half decent cast. The only character that sort of stood out oddly for me, would probably be Shota. I imagined her to be a tad younger, with softer, but still hard-hitting features, opposed to Dina. I was only so so on Denna. I just remembered that Denna went from being terrifying to calm at a comment from Richard when he said that he didn't want it to hurt her when she taught him. That is why he wanted Constance to teach him. There was a similar scene in X-Men 3 where Jean/Phoenix asked Wolverine if she would die for them and he replied that he wouldn't die for them but for her. She went from being a terrifying threat who was ready to kill him to letting him kill her.

. I thought she did a really good job. I thought she would be able to pull off Denna from just that example. She didn't fit that part perfectly for me but because of that example she was my best choice so far.
