I always feel like im saying something stupid or obvious starting a convorsation. like it feels cliche asking a girl "hey do you have any book recommendations?" while at a book store. plus i can never think of anything to say out side of a setting that i think about. like i think what will i say at so and so place... if anyone can help me out that would be great i really need to work on this stuff i never have been a very social person (i hate crowds) nor do i have mainstream interests.

haha if you go to a party DONT stay with the same group of people,or the same friend?! go mingle and talk around? thats how u get tagged a slut! or bother people who dont want to talk to you! LOL
I'm not talking about that kind of party. Something a little more sophisticaed..like a wedding, or a cocktail party, or something in that line...rather than a drunken menagerie of insecure teenagers or in the case of a bunch of sorority sisters at a frat party.

Yeah, that's a tough one. If they're a duologue talker, polite thing is to just let them talk and keep up with the minimal encouragers. If you can, extract yourself politely from the conversation after 10 minutes. =)
