  • Hebrews 13:4 Marriage is honourable in all, and the bed undefiled: but whoremongers and adulterers God will judge.

  • 'Im asking A gay'... speaks volumes

Im so gald Im european and gay I rally cant see anything to reccomend the st8 life

over 75% of child abuse is commited by hetrosexual men one in 3 women is mentally physically abused by by their hetro partners ..

You ask if gay people wld help you when needed we do already you just dont recognise it.. but maybe you cld stand for challenging

    bill oriely michelle bukerman

    anne coulter

    fox news

catholic abusers homo phob frat boys

  • @subbtopp What about all the gay rapes in prisons? If we're going to judge majorities here, let's talk about all the gay rapes, and the Catholic pedophies are homosexuals.

And what are you talking about gay people would help you? That's just like saying "All black people will help." You're being way too general.

  • Now concerning what you say in the video.

In the western world, marriage goes beyond religion. People from different religions and even atheists marry and, for them, marriage is based on love between 2 people. It is something nobody discusses anymore because everybody agrees.

The ideia that marriage must be based on love is kinda new but most christians embrace. The idea of same sex marriage is to include gay couples in this group - two people that love each other.

  • The only problem I see is that most out (and older) gay men have a lifestyle that avoids marriage. But it's not that they wanted this lifestyle, actually it's all they could get.

  • What if you had a gay son, as a religious man how would you deal with it?

  • @fernanant - I have 4 sons and would have no problem if one (or all) of them were gay. I would love them just the same.

  • I asked that because most christians see gay behavior and, sometimes, even desire as wrong. They put their kids through reparative therapy trying to ungay them. It is just like making a left-handed person become right-handed.

Well, in the end it is a question of sexual norms. Some evangelicals still today see masturbation as unholy.

  • @fernanant - Cut off a left-handed person's left hand, and they'll become right handed. So, using your logic, there's sstill some logic to the therapy that you speak of.

What is sexually normal? Some men get excited watching a woman pop balloons. Some like to watch lesbians. While others prefer sex with their wives. Normal isn't even normal anymore.

If masturbation is unholy, I'll see you in hell.

  • @thereprieve See, that's my point. For most christians, masturbation is morally wrong and is just as wrong as homo sex. Their sexual ethics is called chastity (sex only in hetero marriage, no codoms, only for procriation and never ever divorce). If you are not following some of these rules, you have secular views on sex. If you have secular views on sex, it makes no sense to look down on gay people.

  • @fernanant - Are sins the basis for morality?

Are you familiar with the divorce rate among Christians?

Because certain people don't want a word redefined does not mean that they look down on anyone.

for instance: If Latinos wanted the word caucasian to mean anyone that isn't black, would you be for that? Even if saying 'no' meant that you were going to be labeled a bigot?

  • You say you would love your son, but you would "hate his sin", isnt it?

Put current christian preaching aside for a moment. Don't you find sinful to see sin in a natural unharmful love? You love your wife, wouldnt you want your son to love his husband the same way? Isnt this view just counterproductive? It would distance your son from you, make him feel bad, it is just like saying he is not good enough the way he is. It wouldnt change his sexuality.

  • @fernanant - Counter-productive is puttin gwords in people's mouths. I never said "but you would "hate his sin", isnt it?"

Plenty of things are done in the name of love that would distance me from my son. There are choices that I have made (or will make) that my children will find odd and not want to be associated with. Does it mean we love each other less?

I'm not worried about making my children feel bad when they make bad choices. It's part of the learning/healing process.

  • I'm a Christian and happen to be gay. I feel I agree with most of what you said.

  • What do you know about Bible marriage? The Bible awards a man a wife several ways, rape, kidnapping, a financial arrangement. Also remember in the scriptures, you'll not find any wedding ceremonies, and the woman becomes chattel property to the man and is subject to his will. Concerning the gay issue, there are 6 Bible verses that deal with same sex action. There are over 350 Bible verses regarding the heterosexual expectations. Its also a sin to eat oysters or any shell fish. Pick N choose!

  • 1) Religion did not invent marriage, why should it be reserved for religious people? Religious people can have a religious marriage, and the rest of us can have secular marriages if we want them.

    2) I'm an atheist, and I'll stand up for anyone whose rights are being violated, but that's not conditional. I wont stand up for Christians' rights only if they'll stand up for mine, I'll do it because it's the right thing to do.

  • Sorry for the split up comments—500 characters wasn't enough :) Good video. it's refreshing to see a more composed approach when the norm seems to be inflammatory rhetoric being spewed around. I've maintained a neutral position on the gay marriage issue at large.

  • However, what's interesting is that it's being called "gay" marriage. The issue is "marriage"—and what it means. There should be no distinction. It's all just semantics. At 6:35 you begin to talk about the "equalization of rights" as in one group (the Christians) *giving* rights to another group (the gays). Huh? ... why should this be the case?

  • Why do Christians get to hand out rights? (as Americans we are all afforded the same rights) Then you fear a backlash by the very group that the religious right has feverishly tried to oppress. You shouldn't have to "do good by me" to insure that I do "good by you"—as a society, we should be naturally inclined to help one another. But with such vitriol being handed out by the so called "religious", they've set the tone for non-cooperation.

  • Even if there were a hypothetical crisis that Christians were facing, it's unlikely they would solicit any "gay" support anyway. They'd probably opt for martyrdom instead.

  • Jesus was a nomadic hippie basically. Were he alive today, he'd most likely be a liberal and would utterly loathe the discourse on the issue and would emphatically tell the "religious" that they have it all wrong. He'd probably refer to his good buddy Luke's passage (6:31), "do unto others as you would have them do unto you."

    Thanks.

  • I should be able to get married to the woman i love : / your religion shouldn't stop me.

  • Get rid of marriage in America thereby equalling the footing. Religion does not belong in our government, so I totally agree with you. If you are willing to come out in support for us we will support you, my only problem with religion is its bigoted perspective. I have no problem with religion as long as its not being used to suppress people, or in my science classroom, If anyone of a religious background is oppressed I would stand up for there rights as a lesbian and an atheist.

  • You really are one of my favourite Youtube Christians Reprieve.

As you say , a thought can't be wrong.

We have gay marriage here and I don't know, no one makes as big a deal as they seem to in America about it, it's just part of life.

  • Hooray for WA state for voting against this gay marriage ban lameness.

If people don't want a gay marriage, don't get one!

  • I completely agreed with you in this vid (apart from the america is the best country in the world thing (england is pretty sweet)

  • I dont agree on that last part neither. When it comes to Tolerance I'd say either Sweden or Canada are the best countries.

  • Well I was joking really. England ain't all that. I mean, we're alright. Our healthcare is pretty good : )

  • Let me just say that I am glad that is all that you disagree with.

There's nothing wrong with being #2 (England). And Sweden is a nice place to visit, but I wouldn't want to live there. (referencing ADDodger) =0)

  • Oh its on.

    England rocks.

  • Sweden is cold. For some reason I want to move to england when i get abit older. Allways been my favorite country all and allt.

But you just feel so safe living here. We've got one of the best healthcares in the world, Our criminality-rate is very low compared to most countries etc etc :)

Why wouldnt you want to live in Sweden though? :D I dont blame you for thinking that it's cold as fuck in the winters.

  • Sweden has the best heavy metal, though.

  • @LatumWay Australia is even sweeter!

  • Yeah?! Keep telling yourself that! You were our prison!!!

  • 'WERE' is exactly right. Now, and for the last 150 years, your fellow country men and women are flocking to our shores in droves to get away from the UK!

"Australians let us all rejoice, for we are young and FREEEEEE!!!!! Where the sun shines bright and the air is sweet and we are girt by crystal clear, blue sea!"

  • Why can't we all just get along!!!! ='O

  • No probsat this end! Always happy to share a friendly hullo.

  • Really liked your video, found your account thanks to DasAmericanAtheist's shoutout.

Speaking as a white, english, middle-class heterosexual I've never been discriminated against, but I'd defend all those who have been.

Unfortunately, the vast amount of discrimination in america has been done by and not against christians and the more moderate and compassionate like yourselves have been reluctant to speak out against these actions. I respect your bravery in doing so.

  • I agree that everyone should have equal rights. You made some good points. However, within the topic of gay Christians. Do you believe you can be a homosexual, be a christian, and God will bless your relationship? I'm curious to where you stand on this issue.

  • No, I do not believe that a gay relationship will be blessed by God. I believe that if you have accepted Jesus Christ as your savior, the holy spirit will work in you to rid you of all of your sins. You have to be a willing participant though.

This video is strictly about the contractual marriage recognized by the government, not the covenant marriage recognized by God.

    Thanks for the comment amigo.

  • @thereprieve Yeah, I know it was about contractual marriage by the government. But I was just curious on were you stand within the covenant marriage recognized by God. I liked you response. I'm glad you agree ;)

  • thank you for reminding me that Christians are smart empathic people that do try to do good in the world. I always knew you were out there, you just forget with ray comfort and his like running around on youtube.

As a trans woman and a lesbian I would stand up for anyone when there rights are threatened and would not think twice about supporting Christians if that ever happened to them. But understand i will stand up against Christians if/when they over step and infringe on others rights too.

  • Oh, and when you block me, go ahead and block everyone that disagrees with your moronic opinions, that way you can sit up in your ivory towers of stupidity with only people who think like AA to keep you company. Another tip, try not to be such a condescending asshole and maybe people will take what you have to say a little better.

  • Comment removed

  • I have never said any such thing to you. This is the second time in a few short hours that you have flat out LIED. When you repeatedly lie, you are a liar! Since you have the mentality of a third grader, I'm sure you'll be back with your little potty mouth again, which I'm sure makes you feel all good inside, because obviously in real life you are a wimp. I'll bet the bullies stole your lunch money a lot as a kid.... probably still do today. Use foul language and you will be blocked kiddo.

  • Oh no!! Bad words?? Goshdarnit!! Yeah, you must be a weakling because yer not a red neck like me hyuk. Oh, and my mistake I mixed you up with another like minded idiot, I am a fallible human after all, and unlike AA and his cronies willing to admit an honest mistake. It still seems you are scared of what people really think of your idiocy.

  • Thank you very much.

  • for the most part, i see where you are coming from and i respect that you are struggling with this issue and really trying to figure things out for yourself. i would like to make the point, however, that not all gay people are atheists. how would you feel about gay christians being married in their church?

  • When I made this video, it was on such a whim that I didn't even consider that there are gay and lesbian Christians. I have since been corrected. I am not one to tell people what to do in their church, that's between them and God. If they want to marry gay couples, they need not justify that to me. I personally do not want the law to say that churches must marry gay couples though. I am only speaking of the contractual marriage recognized by the state not the covenant marriage by the church.

  • How does you become a follower of Jesus if you don't, "know a whole lot about the bible?" How could any reasonable person find themselves in such a position?

Well, they wouldn't. Of course you will then be confused when you actually read the bible.

So, it seems that your escape plan is to carefully cherry-pick from these texts. Ignoring vast and innumerable tracts of vicious violence and hatred.

    I don't understand your position.

  • "it seems that your escape plan is to carefully cherry-pick from these texts. Ignoring vast and innumerable tracts of vicious violence and hatred."

It seems that I am not the one guilty of cherry-picking.

"Of course you will then be confused when you actually read the bible."

Not in the least. The Bible makes perfect sense if you have even the most basic of comprehension abilities.

  • Hi thereprieve

    Could you clarify both points?

"It seems that I am not the one guilty of cherry-picking."

I am not proposing anything. I am challenging a proposition and a position. It should be perfectly acceptable to challenge any single point of an argument in order to attempt to prove it unsound. The argument, however, must defend every point. Did I understand your comment?

    continued...

  • ...me again,

"The Bible makes perfect sense if you have even the most basic of comprehension abilities."

Not if you struggle with fundamental contradictions. I'll begin with chapters one and two: Genesis 1:25-27 (humans were created after all other animals), vs. Genesis 2:18-19 (humans were created before the other animals).

I really do appreicate your engagement. Let's try to nut this out.

  • You invited any atheist to prove you wrong that atheists wouldnt come to the aid of Christians if Christians needed help. Personally, I dont like to see anyone suffer, not even Christians. It took me many years to overcome my superstitious beliefs. I feel if Christians were given the opportunity to become educated as I was to the history of the evolution of religion from our primitive superstitious ancestors, Christians would become atheists eventually. Who am I to deny them that opportunity?

  • thereprieve, you want gay couples to have the same right but at the same time you want to label them differently. What ever you said, your arguments always come down to bible and christian crap. I rated this stupid video as 1 star.

  • How did I want to label them differently?

How did you rate the video 1 star if ratings are disabled?

Please refute anything I said in this video, if you have the ability.

  • It sounds like you're raising national bullshit above God's words. As Christians we don't need to tolerate something that's absolutely wrong. God doesn't tolerate homosexuality, He despises it. Why should we support something that's clearly a sin? Gay people are human beings, true, but they're still living in sin and we shouldn't give the impression that it's okay to be gay.

  • I'm sorry you feel this way. You need to understand that the same country that we live in, and are free to worship our God as we see fit, also includes rights for others that you may not like.

I'm not giving the impression that it's okay to be married before God, I want the rights of our country to be distributed fairly and equally.

  • I'm confused here!

Are you trying to say you want gays to have equal rights, but you don't want them to get married?

    Sounds like a contradiction!

What are you trying to explain here?

  • As Americans, I believe that our government should recognize their union as legal. They should share in every right that straight couples do. With the one exception that the government does not force the church to perform gay marriages. If a church chooses to, then so be it.

Sorry if I was confusing, I tried my best to be clear and passionate... I guess I gotta bone-up my skills a little.

  • You're still confusing.

You support the legality of gay "union", you seem to morally agree with gay relationships, but you're still justifying Christianity on this?

Christianity is against gay marriages because it is against gay relationships, so you have to choose here man. You cant support their right to be homosexual, while also supporting the Christian view on the subject.

Also, how can a Christian church perform a gay marriage when it is clearly prohibited by their bible?

  • This is why every religion makes you an enemy of reason. You would'nt have to be so confused on the matter if you did'nt have to take into consideration what the people who made your religion thought about homosexuality at the time. This is another perfect example of how the bible's morality is outdated, and far from being absolute.

You clearly do not believe the bible's view on homosexuality is God's word, because if you did, you would not support gay "unions"

  • If this concept is that hard for you to understand without me getting out my crayons and drawing you pictures, then calling yourself "rational" is kind of a stretch.

  • You made a contradiction, i made an argument about your contradiction, and instead of providing an answer, you simply proved to me that you're unaware of your own contradiction. I need you to get out your crayons and draw me how can a man at your age cannot understand the following :

You respect homosexuals and their legal right to form a "union".

Christianity never respected homosexuals or their right to live together.

Are you going against Christianity on the subject?

  • You are what we call a creationist with an open mind, and with rational thought. Yes you still believe in a god, but that's a far cry from the damage that fundamentalists do.

  • I am an atheist, and this is the first creationists video that I have favorited ever. You possess a lot more sense then some of your creationist youtube colleagues.

  • Thanks... I think?

  • Well it is something to be proud of. At the very least you don't intend to inhibit the rights and freedoms of others because of your religion, and you preach tolerance. It's a brand of Christian that I rarely see on youtube.

  • I certainly expect people to tolerate my beliefs so I try to "be the change I want to see" and return the favor. =)

  • If gays want to get married and be as miserable as us straight people, LET THEM.

  • Phobia doesn't mean fear.

It's irrational fear and INCLUDES anger, anxiety, and an avoidance.

You're avoiding the word marriage when talking about gays.

"Please, pay attention to the fact that these are my feelings. My counselor has always said that "feelings are never wrong". I guess I'll have to watch my comment section to see if you agree with her."

Your feelings are right, just not a reason to justify no marriage for gays.

  • cont.

Also,You are wrong in the end (comment limit, bleh).

Somebody persecuted does not have to give tolerance towards their oppressor.

Plus, it's not really christians that are opposing the gay marriages.

In the begginig you even admit this that Jesus "loves" and all that jazz.

Not to mention those christians are following the Torah (old testament) which doesn't apply to followers of Christ.

  • I did not avoid the word marriage, I just don't think that the government should perform the religious ceremony of marriage. If they want to recognize the contractual union between couples then our government should do so equally and fairly.

I am sorry if you do not agree.

  • At about 4:40 you pretty much want to avoid marriage by the government just because to you it's only for a man and women, and your though process is if one has it or neither can.

No they shouldn't. That would mean the government is endorsing a religion. What A religion, A church recognizes as a marriage and what the GOVERNMENT recognizes are different. Church state separation. And since you're in the US, I'm sure your aware of that, right? How they can't endorse religion?

  • KEEP YOUR BIBLE OUT OF OUR BEDROOMS. Just because you are a self-professed Christian that does not mean you can trample on the liberties and privileges of other Americans. "Man is free but everywhere he is in chains". Your enemy is divorce, NOT Gay marriage. Look at the mirror and into your own people for a solution to your heterosexual crisis, not at the Gay & Lesbian community. ASSHOLE!

  • At least the fucking Muslims are better off. They may have crazy ideas like suicide bombing and virgin killings, but at least they have the BALLS to own up to their Quran and follow their teachings.

Unlike these Christian hypocrites. Je suis tres tres desole. Quell suprise por Christiens son muets, imbeciles et idiot!!!!

  • I'm confused about God's command to stone my child for talking back. Which way is the way of love on this one?

I addition, my virgin daughter was raped a few weeks ago. The bible says she must marry her rapist. Am I interpretting this correctly? My daughter says the command is unfair and God doesn't love her anymore.

  • Dude you are SO FUCKING AWESOME. Thats the EXACT same bullshit that Christians like Thereprieve follow.

Christians cherry-pick their fucking teachings. Dont each shellfish, marry your rapist, stone your children, allow slavery, hate the gays, hate divorce, discrim. women. YET Christians cherry pick their Bibles. What a dipshit.

  • Exactly. It just makes you sick to your stomach. If Christians actually read their Bibles, maybe more of them would see the truth. lol

Its been awhile, but I just posted a new video/song about a Christian evangelist on Youtube who got busted for plagiarizing. If you haven't heard about how we was exposed, you should check it out, I put the links in my video =)

  • @lloydbaltazar & RobotzAreAwesome

You 2 seem to have a lot of hate in your hearts. I'm sorry that wherever you got lost, that no on found you. You have a friend here. I will listen to you and be here for you should you ever want to overcome that hatred and find yourselves again.

    Peace my friends.

  • No hate per say, just frustration. As you will be too, if you ever accept the truth, and come to the realization you've wasted years of life worshiping a God who doesn't exist. A "god" can still exist, but it is a brute fact that the "God of the Bible" can not exist. Too many contridictions in regard to his nature, and all it takes is one in order for the whole thing to fall apart.

For instance, God can not be "all knowing" while declaring the sun goes around the Earth. Doesn't work.

  • WHY DONT YOU ADDRESS THE FACT THAT Christians CHERRY-PICK the teachings of the Bible?

HOW FUCKING SACRED is heterosexual marriage? Marriage is a human right, NOT a heterosexual privilege only to be DISGRACED by 50% DIVORCE RATE. CALL IT HATE, I CALL IT REALITY!

  • 6:23

The answer to your question, REGARDLESS of whether or not Christians helped the LGBT community.

I WOULD ALWAYS defend anothers rights.

This is similar to asking before the abolishment of slavery, whether "the blacks" would help "the whites" out if they ever needed help with their rights, and I suspect that the answer would have been yes, and still would be yes...

The only people who would wish for anothers rights to be taken away is selfish, regardless of what group they belong to.

  • Man, you people are fucking crazy. Arguing this bullshit like its a neverending issue. If you dont like Gay marriage, don't have one. Simple problem, complicated solution.

  • I agree with your view on marriage. Most people think I'm crazy when I say I'm not sure I want a "marriage" (even though I'm straight) just because I feel it would intrude on the religious term.

I suppose the definitions of terms change over time though, and that's where the problem comes in.

So sorry, this is one where I won't try to prove you wrong. =)

  • I understand that you're saying that you'd like the government to stop defining what marriage is, and call the legal contract a domestic partnership. I agree with you :). I was annoyed at you asking for a reward for acting well ("And this is the thanks I get?"). I doubt Jesus or any other moral human being would expect or demand a cookie for doing the right thing.

  • I've restated my point several times that I don't really need anything in return other than it not to be forgotten that a Chrisitan went against his personal beliefs in the name of fairness and equality. The comment about "the thanks I get" was because this guy was being rather rude for no real reason. I too was facing an ostracization of sorts on his behalf, and he refused to even recognize that I was doing so. He went on about the insults. I need no reward for doing the right thing though.

  • So why are even mentioning it? I dont get you dude. Did you want a handjob for stating your opinions on YouTube? Geez. So much for "thanks I get".

  • Easy Fix. Unitarian Universalists marry Homosexuals and we're a religion.

    No conflict, right?

Not sure what's wrong with the US atm but we've got a government here that has the same issue.

  • sorry thorungal, there were many things that I did not consider when I was making this video. I was speaking directly from the heart and left my mind out of it.

If the g'ment, stopped performing "marriages" but a homosexual couple still wanted to get married, then I'm sure they would find that in your church. And I appreciate that there are churches that focus on the love of Christ above all else. "The greatest of these is love".

    Peace to you friend.

  • I can't get over this deluded complex americans have where they believe they are the best, most free, most tolerant country, because it is simply untrue. I am in the Netherlands at the moment, and I know for a fact it has those qualities, if not more freedoms and tolerance than america does. Seriously this over inflated sense of superiority from you guys is really pissing a lot of people off. Most Scandinavian countries are exactly the same, as with most countries in western Europe.

  • More freedoms and tolerance? I'd like to see your sources, there. Our freedom of speech, at least, outstrips anything Europe offers at the moment.

  • NO it doesn't, what freedom of speech do you have in USA that we don't have in the Netherlands? Just because most of you say so doesn't make it true. Netherlands has way more freedoms than USA. At least people there realize that it's not up to the government to control your body.

  • Freedom to deny the holocaust, as evil as it is to do so. That sort of thing.

Up to the government to control my body? What gives you the impression I believe that? And what, specifically, are you referring to?

And just because YOU say you have more freedoms doesn't make it true, either. So provide evidence and specifics, please. I'm really dying to know.

  • Oh, and according to Article 137c of the Dutch penal code:

"He who in public, orally, in writing or image, deliberately offends a group of people because of their race, their religion or beliefs, or their hetero- or homosexual orientation, shall be punished with imprisonment not exceeding one year or a third category fine"

That strikes me as a significant restriction of the freedom of speech.

  • Freedom to smoke whatever the hell I god damn want. Freedom for a woman to sell her body if she chooses to. It's up to a person what they do. At least here we don't stop people doing stuff that doesn't infringe on other peoples rights. How about the right to life, the biggest right? Not so free in some states in america huh? Glad my country doesn't lay on foundations where it is right to take a life.

  • You can do crack cocaine and heroin in the netherlands? Cool.

And yes, because I am from the U.S. I am clearly all about the death penalty, against legalized prostitution, pro-war on drugs, etc. I'm glad to see you freedom-loving people are so open and non-judgmental and do not leap to conclusions.

How utterly cute and pathetic of you.Why should I respect you when all you want to do is come here and insult Americans in order to stroke your own ego? Sorry, I'm not going to play along.

  • @hippydude89 I was content to let you ramble on forever if you wanted but then you had to say "Freedom for a woman to sell her body". First, I think it would be considered "renting" not selling. Second, that statement tells me that whatever country you think is so great, is doing nothing to see to it that women don't have to sell sex and that they should think higher of themselves. Americans can be arrogant in the fact that we value people a little more.

  • I didn't say I agreed with a woman being compared to an item, but I who am I, you, or your government to control what they do. So you make fun of my wording? Excuse me this is only my third language, and you know what I mean. I guess my point was too strong for you to find a real arguement against. Just because decent people don't like the idea of prostitution doesn't mean we have the right to stop a woman being a prostitute. If you valued people so much you would value their freedom of choice.

  • Besides, even if that was a problem that the racial hatred wasn't allowed, there are much larger problems with freedoms in america, like I have stated. Go kill some criminals, I guess that's what makes you a great country.

  • Hey the arguement isn't about who as individuals here is more close minded, the arguement was about idiot americans always claiming their country has freedoms other don't. So what if not all americans agree with the death penalty, it's a right that AMERICA takes away in many states. You cannot claim your country is the best due to it's freedom if it is stripping the most important freedom away from people- their life.

  • And what about idiot Europeans always claiming they're superior to everyone else?

And there's also the view that people can commit crimes that strips them of their right to life.

  • Who has the right to strip someone of their right to life? Surely the people condemning someone to death is sentencing them for the exact thing he is doing. I don't see why retarded conservatives cannot get this through their 9 inch thick skulls. Besides, Europeans don't claim they are superior to everyone else. They simply show America is not superior to them. Europeans aren't the only people tired of American arrogance though. Your neighbours to the north hate you, Australians hate you.

  • No, it's not the exact same thing. Do you think there is a difference between someone kidnapping you and locking you in his basement for ten years and the government arresting you and putting you in prison for ten years?

*American arrogance*? Pot kettle black, man. You've just spent the last several comments calling anyone who has a different opinion then you retarded, arrogant, stupid, etc. Not only that, but you claim to speak for all Europeans, all Canadians, and all Australians.Bravo!

  • So that should be specifics enough. By the way, in western Europe/ Scandinavia, that racial law really only applies to people if they are insighting hatred, therefore essentially possibility to cause harm OR they say it in front of a large audience where they actually have an affect. For gods sake, chairman of a rather large party in Britain openly denies holocaust all the time, and you don't see him getting arrested for it. You are delusional.

  • Oh and of course the countless number of countries the USA has screwed over hate you.

  • And according to you so do the countless number of countries we've saved from the fire multiple times. Damned if we do, damned if we don't.

Tell me, why should we care?

  • I'm not really understanding all the bashing of thereprieve here...I didn't hear any hateful words in that video. He has come with an olive branch declaring peace on behalf of a community that has been commonly known for being bigoted in this topic. I too am a Christian and I agree with this message of peace and equality! Right on man for saying what needed to be said and risking attack from BOTH sides of the religious fence!

  • Thanks SK24... no worries, It's only one guy that's hating though. He's highly unstable. I think we've already determined that he needs serious therapy.

    Peace and God bless brother.

  • and Lloydbaltazar is kind of right here. The reason gays and bi's etc can't get married is BECAUSE of the religious in the first place, it's not like the religious would be doing them a favour. Marriage isn't theirs to own. So, I know as an atheist and a bisexual, that I would fight in my country against people who were preventing Christians or others to participate in their religion. But that isn't the same as Christians STOPPING crying about gays getting married.

  • Thereprieve, please take the hatred OUT of your heart. There is nothing wrong with being Gay, even if your Bible says so. This is 2009 and we live in America dude. Just because you are 15 years older than me that does not mean you are correct in everything. GROW UP.

  • What's up with the name calling? Why are you trying to pick a fight with me?

  • Why is it hard for Christians to accept that you do NOT own marriage rights in this country? It is not yours to exclusively grant & its NOT yours to take away from tax-paying, law-abiding Americans. PROP 8 did that thanks to Christian nutjobs like YOU!

  • lloydbaltazar- a response to you in general over this comment board. I just read over all that and HAD to say something

I am a girl in love with a girl. A "lesbian", if you want to call it that, but I think gender has little to do with it.

I am ashamed to be associated with people like you. Can you hear yourself? You are acting no better than your Christian counter-parts. You don't use hate to cure hate, asshole. I KNOW how hard it is, but that is no excuse for behaving in such an ugly way.

  • Spare me the Kumbaya Bullshit. I'm no treehugger and in case you did not know, Gay & Lesbian rights weren't gained over through flowers & cups of tea. This is not the time for a happy-peppy-nicey meal.

Don't look down on me just because I say what I feel and I do not sugar coat my words to make anyone else feel better. Clearly, I don't operate that way.

  • Oh, really? What productive thing have you accomplished here for the LGBT community, then?

You won't listen to reason, and it sounds more like you have a bone to pick with religion itself and not what he is actually saying. There are plenty of bigots on YoutTube more deserving a verbal bashing-- and better yet, ones who actually want to deny gay rights, unlike this guy-- so what are you doing here? Other than insulting those who would help you?

  • If you don't want to fight for Gay & Lesbian rights, then DONT.

There are many others out there that are willing to fight for the Gay Civil Rights Movement so that YOU and YOUR GIRLFRIEND can gain Marriage Equality in this country.

That's all I have to say.

  • Do you not understand... that this is EXACTLY what is being said? Equal rights for both straight and gay couples. How have you missed that? If you want to fight, go fight WHERE YOU HAVE ENEMIES. Do you understand what I am saying? No-one is against your stance here!

  • OK.

  • Christian nutjob here does not seem to understand how big a battle Gay marriage is for many people and their families. Children in Gay household families are at stake here, as they are deprived of health, insurance, tax-exemption, conjugal property, inheritance etc and many other rights which are granted to heterosexual couples. Yet he fucking proposes a union and everyone just easily agrees like some fucking Alice in Wonderland bullshit. FUCK YOU and be a real American! Asshole!

  • Thanks for trying Rithrandil. It seems that you are trying to get blood from a turnip. No one will fault you for ignoring this weasel. I think he needs more than equal rights, he needs a psychotherapist. I pray that no government ever gives he and his partner children to care for. If they turned out straight, he'd probably beat them with his keyboard.

Peace Rithrandil, don't let this guy bother you any more.

  • You know, if every homosexual acted like you, no one would ever give you the time of day, let alone rights. Thank God that decent people (homosexual and otherwise) have already commented with decency and respect. I got this funny feeling that you are one of those guys that fights with a keyboard and VERY little else. Put your prada purse down and go comment to someone who will listen to you because you are just too ignorant to continue a conversation with. Have a nice life.

  • I just want you to open your mind and listen with your heart. So that you can see that the fight for marriage equality in this country is a real battle for many Gays and Lesbians. Why all the hateful words?

  • I have been trying VERY hard to do both. You came here with your hateful words. Read your posts, you barely got through one without cursing or calling someone a biggot. You threw around the word "faggot" like it was going out of style. No one here has used that word except you. There is NO hate here friend. And I will not tolerate any. I want to help you and I want to compromise. Why is that so hard for you to understand? If you just calm down for 5 minutes, you'll probably find more like me.

  • You weren't trying hard enough. You said Gay people should settle for unions and that is not equal to marriage. I know I said one or two bad things but thats not really the big issue here. I just wish you don't hate gay people as much as you do. Just because you are a Christian that doesn't mean you are better than me or anyone else in this world.

  • When did I ever say I was better than anyone else? I DON'T HATE ANYONE! If you listened to my video without prejudice, I want the gov't to stop performing marriages so that EVERYONE (Gay, Straight, or Otherwise) would be treated equally under the law.

Why don't you keep in mind that I am under no obligation to think this way. And that I will probably be ostracized by my church for wanting to help you. And this is the thanks I get?

  • You have no fucking clue how many children in Gay and Lesbian household families suffer every year because their parents cannot get equal treatment, benefits and protection under the law. What's worse is that you don't care as long as you believe that you are following your Bible yet disregard basic human civil rights. Is that a Christian by definition? Why don't you come from a place of LOVE?

  • For an American, you don't have the balls to stand up for your beliefs. I'm Roman Catholic and I risk excommunication everyday yet I still stand up for my beliefs. THIS IS AMERICA & Equality for ALL people regardless of race, gender, or sexual orientation.

  • I campaigned hard and voted for Obama because he promised Gay marriage and equal protection under the law for ALL LGBT Americans. Now that he is President of the Unted States, I expect him to fulfill those promises and keep his word, otherwise I feel like my vote had been wasted. Obama needs to keep his word and deliver the rights for all Gay & Lesbian people. He promised!

  • And Obama is an asshole for not fighting for those rights and for not repealing Don't Ask, Don't tell like he said he would. Unfortunately, Congress will *also* have to change the Uniformed Code of Military Justice and remove 'sodomy' from the list of offenses - yet ANOTHER thing I support them doing. But hey, when Sotayamyor is in SCOTUS there's always a chance someone will challenge DOMA and get it overturned for violating equal protection, which seems like the quickest way to equality.

  • GET OFF my fucking comments you dipshit. That comment wasn't addressed to you and you keep humping on them like a dog. And quit calling me a fucking bigot because you sure damn well know that I am NOT a bigot. You and Christian nutjob here IS. Sotomayor is one racist bitch who is also against Gay & Lesbian rights. You both can go straight to oblivion because I DONT GIVE A FUCK!!!

  • Comment removed

  • FUCK YOU! You can wait a fucking Eon AND a million years waiting for my apology because it will never happen, cum-rag. You have NO FUCKING CLUE how Gays and Lesbians are mistreated and discriminated from their workplaces yet all YOU and Christian nutjob here can say is give them "UNION"?

WHO THE FUCK DO YOU THINK YOU ARE? Keep waiting on that apology, ASSHOLE.

  • Comment removed

  • BITCH DONT FUCKING LIE TO ME. Do I look that stupid? FUCK NO. Prop 8 took away me and my partner's rights and you can't comprehend how HURTFUL and insanely degrading that is to us and many other Gays and Lesbians across the nation. Making you understand all this is a fucking waste of time you stupid piece of shit.

You will have your fucking apology on the day you turn into a Roman Catholic LITTLE BITCH that you are. I'd like to see that happen. BITCH.

  • Yes, I can comprehend it's hurtful. I believe it's HUGELY degrading - WHICH IS WHY I VOTED AGAINST PROP 8. I want you to get married. I'm not lying to you. I'm an atheist, once again, who SUPPORTS YOUR EQUAL RIGHTS.

Why are you such an idiot? Do you not understand me? I support your rights. I voted against Prop 8. So once again, apologize or explain how I am a homophobic bigot.

  • You're just as bad as those "GOD HATES FAGS" Westboro baptists idiots. Here I am, agreeing with you, and you continue to insult me and attack me for absolutely no reason. Seriously, quit being such a coward and back up your statements. Nothing I have said has been homophobic or arguing against your rights. Quote one thing. Just one. Of course, you can't, because not only are you a hypocrite, a coward, a racist, and a bigot, you are also a LIAR. How does it feel, bigot?

  • Obama oppses gay marriage. Don't believe me, watch his debates against John McCain. He does however support equal protection. Oh yeah, and Obama is a Christian. You voted for a bible-thumping Christian. Hypocrite!

  • I appreciate your candor. Even if people disagree with you, at least you are presenting a heartfelt case. Just my two cents...Cheers

  • Thanks Robotwookie... much appreciated.

    Peace to you buddy.

  • You piss me off because you seem like an intelligent motherfucker who can think for himself yet allow your own damn bigoted Christian convictions to support an ideology that prevents the progress of the United States of America. It's nice that you think Gays and Lesbians should get Equal rights, but YOU spewing your Christian nonsense is another level of incompetent thinking and bullshit HYPOCRISY.

  • If you read what he said he basically said he wanted straight people to get unions only as well, and there to be some extra *religious* ceremony called "marriage".

I don't agree with that stance, but I think attacking Christians who actually want to support your life style and give you equal rights (even if the name is different) just does more harm to your cause than good. Equality is built one step at a time, man.

  • FUCK YOU. He can keep his version of "Equality" if its not the EXACT SAME term and SAME rights that heterosexual couples take for granted. Gays & Lesbians don't need the U.S. Government to settle for only half when we deserve full Equality.

Just how "Sacred" is their institution anyway? Over 50% divorce rate. Wow, I'm SO impressed.

  • So now you're insulting me? So mature. You do realize you're making the homophobes argument for them right now, correct? All I'm saying is, take it, move on from there. These things come in excruciatingly small steps.

If you want to be a dick when I *agree and want you to have the same rights that I as a heterosexual have, term and all*, feel free. You're only hurting yourself and making it less likely that more and more people will come around and see your side of things.

  • Build consensus and move on from there, man. The population demographics are in your favor. If you want to torpedo that and just lash out at everyone who isn't gay, fine, but you're only going to delay social justice from occurring. If you want to attack people, I suggest not attacking people who are on your side of the issue and not attacking people who are almost on your side of the issue barring the use of the actual word. You're just making your mission harder for yourself.

  • I bet you're a homophobe too. You obviously don't know and dont understand how hard it has been for Gays and Lesbians to struggle for equal rights and marriage equality amongst Christian nutjobs like this one who want to dictate what marriage is for all law-abiding, tax-paying Americans.

So GET OFF your high horse and lose the ego for a minute here, asshole. Not everyone is a perfect little prick like you are.

  • Yes, I'm a homophobe in favor of gay marriage and gay adoption. Real intelligent there, douche. So once again, you are attacking someone who is ON YOUR SIDE.

Did I say I was perfect? No, I'm just trying to counsel moderation, which you seem to reject in favor of lashing out at EVERYONE. Great logic there, buddy! How's it working out for you? Not well, seeing as how Prop 8 passed in California! But you know what? You're a dick. I'm on your side of the issue, have said so MULTIPLE TIMES

  • in comments here, and have even said I disagree with Repreive and want EVERYONE to be able to get married regardless of sexual orientation... AND YOU CALL ME A HOMOPHOBE? You have some nerve, man - attacking someone who supports your civil rights. That's pathetic, man.

  • Prop 8 passed because those goddamn Blacks & Mormons contributed money to the campaign & that was AGAINST the law. Mormon churches should be taxed for participating in a political process that undermined CLEAR Separation of Church and State.

Those polygamous Mormons should accept Gays & Lesbians where are coming from but they chose to be bigots like Mr. Christian nutjob here. Prop 8 took away the validity of MY marriage so don't be so surprised if I'm fucking angry. MORON.

  • And I voted against Prop 8 because it was a homophobic horrible piece of legislation designed to strip someone of their civil rights. And you're insulting me for voting ON YOUR SIDE OF THE ISSUE? Dude, do you not understand what I am saying? I SUPPORT YOUR RIGHT TO GET MARRIED, and you CONTINUE to insult me?

Why? Give me ONE reason why other then you are just a fucking prick.

  • I'm a prick because Christian nutjobs like this one are the reason why Gays & Lesbians are fired from their jobs in America. Gay Sergeants & Lieutenants in the Army are fired for serving their country.

Gays & Lesbians are discriminated all across the country just because this bastard son of a bitch wants to impose his Bible bullshit on every American who wants Freedom. So don't you dare talk down to me as if you know what its like to be discriminated because of sexuality because you DONT.

  • I'm not talking down to you as if I know what it's like, I'm talking down to you because you are ATTACKING SOMEONE WHO IS ON YOUR SIDE.

So once again, since you failed to give a reason: Why are YOU attacking ME when I am ON YOUR SIDE?

  • If you are on my side then why dont you have the BALLS to call him out for being the homophobe that he is. Why would Gays and Lesbians settle for less than marriage when our faggot ancestors have sweat and died for the civil rights that we are fighting for today? Do I look that fucking stupid? I have two degrees and I help sick and dying people everyday and I expect to have equal rights and not be discriminated against by scumbags like him who YOU TOLERATE. BIGOT!
