what a great track here. it seems to me that the more i listen to your posts, the more i look foward to listening to your posts!!! thank you for your love of sharing. tom d brick,nj.
Great song and a piece of R&R history here! This song rocks the house despite of it not being a charted hit. And I'm from the St. Louis area, and its always good to learn a piece of history, especially about the man Ike Turner. Sure, he was a very bad husband, but no one can take away his musician skills
For some reason, iTunes gives someone else's version priority. But I grew up in St. Louis and I KNOW that this is the original. Thanks for making it available! FWIW, St. Louis (6310)6 is Downtown, the city's main 'hood, not to be confused with the downtown shopping district. I'm talking Pruitt-Igoe and Jefferson & Franklin, "where the white man has no rights." The other 'hood was the Wet End, home of the Fifth Dimension.

@hwgray So then you'll recognize the name when I tell you that Bennie Smith was playing the guitar on this one. :)

@sexyboi2000 well maybe if she was born in 1942 or 1941 but since she was born in 1939 then she would've been 18 going on 19.
