its best to have them in the box cos there's less chance of them escaping. they'll only bite you if you annoy them (like poke them repeatedly) if they sniff they're just being curious

Unless it's the cage is at over 30-40 years old it should not contain lead. Also, if they are not chipping the paint they are not chipping their teeth. Make sure you give your guinnea pig a bit of hay or hay cubes because they love to chew and keeps them from chewing other things. Read up on guinnea pigs. They take a lot more knowledge and work than a cat or dog.

Why is iceburg bad? It doesn't sound too bad. It's mostly water, a bit of fiber and vitamins. Fine as a treat, not good for a nutricious dinner. My guinnea has never had diarrhea.

Lot's of timothy hay, a little alfalfa, daily carrot treats, occasional red or green leaf lettuce.

They are very healthy.

Make sure they eat mostly hay and not too much veggies so their tummies can work correctly.

just a general pet store =) I use bird toys a lot for toys, as long as there isn't something they could swallow or choke on. you can put some hay in a toilet paper roll (mine love that), they love tunnels, things to throw around, toys that hang, etc

well every pig is different. Harley never plays with toys. he just sits there like a fat pig (no pun intended) but also, you may not know what they have been through in the past and if you recently got them, give them time to warm up and feel comfortable

those two are about 2 years old now. I have them on fleece. it works out nicely bc when they pee it goes straight to the under bedding (towels) and you can vacumm their poop. Those are both abyssinians. I have one long-haired but shes staying w/ my mom right now since i just moved so i need to build another cage. I bought those ones but you can adopt for the SAME price. those girls were 30 bucks or something. im so against pet stores now so i reccommend adopting.
