Well, ok, slight exaggeration, but this game made me shed tears of pure joy when I first saw this.

This game is also proof that a game can be awesome without HD, or even remotely "good" graphics. They just need to have style, and help the fun.

It's the same graphics as Mega Man 1-6 on the NES. Capcom went back to that style to be nostalgic and to appeal to classic fans. It also proves that you can still have great 8-bit games in this day and age. 9 is like the return to when Mega Man was good. No limits to what robot masters you can fight, no pointless cutscenes, just pure gameplay.

I know that...And I agree with you about 8-bit games, they simply kick ass,however turning the sequel of a title like megaman back into 8 bits should be a job for the fans themselves.OR (most impossible) capcom should make the game in two versions,one in 8 bit and the other in "normal" graphics,and the player could switch between the two in the options menu.That wouldn't be such a hard job to do since they already have both platforms built.megaman 8' cutscenes were realy useless

Although I was born in '92, I still love 8-bit games because they were the forerunners of the games we have today. Sure I have a PS2, but that doesn't mean I can play an old school game for the enjoyment. Of all the Megaman games I've played, Megaman 4 was the hardest for me. But all is true, we all hate Dr.Wily, simple as that. But I believe with Megaman 10 here, I think they're closing out the Original Saga to make way for the X series.

They tried changing Megaman, and it was with a terrible result. This is probably the only series in which a NES-style 8 bit trailer/game geniunely excites gamers, and with good reason. Megaman didn't NEED to be changed, it was fantastic then and it still is now...even as hard as it is to 90% of gamers. Good on Capcom for listening to the fanbase.

@DMalenfant1 Game Maker is a simple free-ware program that allows you to easily make games using a drag and drop interface that I have used in the past (but couldn't make anything half-decent with :D). As you may have seen from my writing in my previous comment I wasn't taking anything serious. As you know Capcom didn't use a program like game maker back in the old days and they had to program the entire engine, game and sounds from the ground up. Capcom's work is not simple or lazy, its PRO!!

With programs like game maker there is talented people working in the background to make the program easy for people to use.

The limited work Capcom had to do after the first mega-man is one of the reasons they produced them so fast (6 on NES).

Capcom's work is still good though. Its fun and challenging and that's the real test when it comes to making games.

If you really are interested go to gamermaker(dot)com and it will tell you the basics of game making with an already built game engine that you can download for free. Even has tutorials for making games.

Then if you want to get deeper, torrent adobe flash and google tutorials. Then after that try some stuff with C++ and MS Dark Basic.

Played Megaman when I was in elementary school during the early 90s, with many hours spent beating the minions of Doctor Wily. Nostalgic to see them make a new 'classic' megaman game almost 20 years later.

The newer megaman's were never as good as the classics, in story and difficulty. The classic megamans were so mind numbingly hard you would just sit there for hours on end trying to make that 1 insane jumping pattern or beat that one crazy boss. The music in the classic games were always great as well. hell, i still play through megaman 1-6 atleast once a year because there just great games. I think you have to have been around in the classic megaman days to truely apperciate this game.

I hate to say it and break your bubble, but the older games tend to be more enjoyable. 16 color graphics, simple interface, and mindless mayhem without all the graphical hooha is far more enjoyable. Even good games like Killzone 2 and Halo 3 dont hold a candle to the older ones for brainless bashing. I still use DosBox and play games such as Alien Carnage, Scorched Earth, and Wolfenstein 3D. After all, older games have good replayability for brainless fun.

Of course they get poor reviews. The industry standard is graphics that need a 512MB SLIed system with gear that runs nearly 2 grand to assemble, and NO story or plot. the new Wolfenstein game that came out blew me away in keeping with the Wolfenstein stories, but most of the current games out have nothing to redeem them in good in-depth story. Older games provide it, but reviewers have become so enamored to brainless gaming that if a good game kicked em, they wouldn't notice it for shit.
