It's a common practice in any anime genre called fan-service. It's usually just any kind of gratuitously emphasized human anatomy that's just thrown in to tease the viewer. But beware of anime that takes it too far. It usually means that the story sucks and they're trying to make up for it.

well for one thing their GN drives aren't as powerful as the originals, and secondly their purpose isn't to eradicate war like the other Gundmas are, they just simply eradicate anything minutely associated with fighting, it's a bit philosophical, but I think you get the idea :-)
