Actually, there needed to be some excitement.. Pretty boring performance. Plays good guitar, but vocals, well.. needs some work. So, I welcomed the ending. Nice change. Other than that,
@s1ygirl I didn't know it was Jeff or that it was planned, it looked like a couple of random jerks trashing the show, but when I watch it now, it's actually pretty funny.
@cathoderoy LOL She was opening for him right? I assume that Avalon is the one in Boston...can you tell me the date of this show? Do you have more video from this show? (I'm from Boston) Jeff was so spontaneous, which was excellent...until the Mississippi :(
there's that bi polar disorder coming out in Jeff....one minute he would be sweetest, nicest guy in the world and then boom he would be a spontaneous dickhead ha and cut you like a knife....although this could have been planned
@paleface77 Jeff played first that night. You are sooooo lucky to have seen him play live. I am in awe of him. He is my angel...though I'd give anything for him to still be here if that meant that I'd never love him this much.
Does someone know who is the other guy jumping on the drums?
.... and don't care about what gossips are saying about Jeff on this tour.... The bottom line is and always will be, Jeff is an angel, no one could ever be greater (... "gracer"..lol) as an artist or as a human being!
You were probably forced out of the pit by Buckley's crew. He didn't like people filming and photographing him. Do you happen to have any other home recordings of Jeff?
Wow, never saw this! But I heard about it, Cold Water Flat's Paul Janovitz said in a magazine that Buckley was a complete asshole on this tour. I saw Juliana's show in NYC on 6/2/95 and following a ridiculously long set by Buckley, he crashed the stage to "sing" on Universal Heart-Beat. The girls squealed, the guys groaned. I love "Grace" but grew sick of him that night. Dean Fisher didn't look happy "sharing" his mic that night. I guess this was among the reasons.

the performance was going no where.

This was one of the best shows at the Avalon. They made a good team and Jeff was incredible. He added a lot to the already high excitement level.

Vintage Juliana Hatfield performance!! Great sense of humor and her voice was, and still is, so sweet...
JEFF BUCKLEY OPENED FOR JULIANA HATFIELD. She writes about it in her memoir, "When I Grow Up"
Check it out at Amazon
JULIANA WROTE A SONG FOR JEFF CALLED "Trying Not To Think About It"
You can see her perform it live here on youtube

Jeff - Legend.
Nothing wrong with a spontaneity. He wasn't an arsehole, he just probably realised she was a little crap and the show needed livening up :-)

Wait, I don't get why some people (including the guy filming) calls Jeff an asshole. Looked pretty friggin pissah to me.

hey, was that a JB concert, or he was only a special guest/ frend ???
RobRock87 2 years ago
No idea but someone below our comments said it was a tour so I'm guessing they both were sharing the stage.

@RobRock87
They split the show - I was there, but can't for the life of me remember who was opening for the other.

I didn't start going to her shows until 1997 so this is amazing to me.
