ak47 is 7.62 ak 74 completely modernised rifle which uses 5.45 ammo . ak 47 wos not realy good for long distances! only 100 metres max! the ak 101-103 shoots up to 1 km

@AAAnikka there is a lot of difference.the AK74M, its the accuracy, reaching about 500-600 meters that is M16 level. and the damage it cause the soviets needed a new light bullet that can even cause more damage to a humen body than a 7.62 so it also causes more damage to a humen body. its around 1KG lighter. and the recoil is decreased dramaticly. the AK74M is the best kalashnikov weapon and the AK47 is the Legend. there will be a new AK200 and this will be even better.

I don't know if Mikail Kalashnikov had any part in making the AK-74. Krinkov isn't the name of a designer, it's just a slang name for an AK with a very short barrel.

It is true that the Germans introduced the very first assault rifle in a medium range 7.65mm but, the Ak in 7.62X39 ,if you look, is very different in design. it is a common belief though. Much like the first submachinegun being the Thompson and the first automatic rifle being the Bar.

Actually if you look at some of the more reliable AK47 information sites, Kalashnikov says he based it off of the M1 Garand, which is actually very evident if you look at how it works. He refuses to say it has anything to do with the SturmGewehr, since it appears to me it was originally designed for a pistol cartridge.

yes it is..but they have heavier trunnions and thicker barrels since they will be used as a squad automatic and have to put down a lot of fire.

the first one at 0:10 is a ak47 type 2..the second at 0:21 is an aks47 type 3...the milled receivers were slightly different same with the gas blocks...they never show a type 1 in this vid, the first ak47..and it was actually a sheet metal receiver like the akm's
