  • Thanks for the post. I have this exact unti and like you, my feet barely touch the ground. Great post my dude.

  • What weight are you doing? Kg preferably

  • @GooGooGaGa10 A 20kg plate each side

  • Love the powertec machines and love these vid's!!!! My buddies and I watch the vid's before we workout on the machines....thanks for doing the help videos!!

  • Which press is the most important of all three? Or should I do a combination of all three?

  • @2Fast2Ferret

    Hey Ferret,

Do all three pressing movements. The more variety the better.

But if I had to choose one, I would recommend incline bench press. This will hit your chest and shoulders. Plus it hits the upper chest which is more important to develop in my opinion.

    Thanks, Sam.

  • @SamsFitnessComAu

Thanks Sam, I'll try to do all three then, when doing so should I do one set of each, or should I just do three sets of each?

  • @2Fast2Ferret

Hey Ferret, If you are just starting out go to our website and look up the Basic Weight Training Program. If you can't find it send me an email and I will send you a link.

This program is perfect to start out with - I even use it myself when I coming back from a lay off.

  • Which press is the most important of all three? Or should I do a combination of all three?

  • So I've been using this machine for about 6 months now and to be honest, I love it, i love the fact that you can workout just about every part of your body. But I'm disappointed with the lever for bench pressing. I actually started just using my Olympic bar with the bench instead. Bench Pressing with the lever brought back my shoulder pains that i previously had from football years before.

  • When you bench press with this machine on decline, the motion just doesn't feel right to me, its like your pushing the lever down in front of you instead of straight above your chest & shoulders. The seat is not as sturdy as i would like it especially with shoulder presses with the lever and the bench on incline, it gets a little wobbly. But its still a really good bench and its pretty cool being able to bench 300 lbs. on it when really your not benching anywhere close to it.

  • That all applies to the Powertec Leverage Gym not the Powertec Multi System Gym, but they have the same benches

  • @420DoWork

Definitely sounds like it is a form issue - I have had multiple dislocations on both shoulders and reconstruction on one. The leverage is great because I can isolate the chest better.

First drop the amount of weight. Use a slow controlled motion on the way down with chest tense. Pause at the bottom and push out briskly.

Also don't worry if you don't go down on your chest. I usually have 1-2 inch gap between the bar and chest.

Always concentrate on using your pecs.

  • Hey great vid and i really enjoy them all.

I am looking for a multi gym for home and i was wondering if this was a good option and how easy are the weights to put on and off of the frame? thanks

  • @MAXXJ123

This is a great option for a multi gym. There is loads of variety so you won't get sick of it.

We are hoping to more filming and programs soon.

The weights are easy to get on and off - just like any plate loaded equipment you will see in a commercial gym.

Also changing weights gives you something to do in between sets - they call it "active rest"

Good luck and sing out if you need anymore info.

  • @SamsFitnessComAu thanks man! Any partticular attachments you recommend?

  • @MAXXJ123

You don't really need any attachments. If you haven't got any home gym equipment I would get an Olympic barbell. They virtually double the number of exercises you can do. If you don't have much space just get a 5ft barbell.

  • I bought this Gym with weight from Sam. Highly recommended, A1 customer service, never have to buy another piece of weight related gym equipment again...

  • @striffy

Thanks mate. Really glad you like the gym

  • When you bench press on this machine, are you actually benching the weight you put on? For instance, if i max out with 235 lbs, would i be able to max out on an Olympic bench 235 lbs.? is the weight you put on the leverage bar True?

  • @420DoWork - You need to completely forget about comparing the leverage bench press and a barbell bench press. They are 2 different exercises. It is just like saying I can bench press 200lb so I should be able to dumbbell press 100lb dumbbells.

Weight is irrelevant on this machine in my opinion. If you want to build muscle concentrate on strict form and isolating the muscle. If you follow this you will get great results.

    Thanks, Sam.

  • @420DoWork 100% no

  • Actually not hard at all, not even for a klutz, and I'm the world's biggest klutz when it comes to putting things together. Go slow, don't try to do it all in one stretch. A rachet set or at least an assortment of decent wrenches is a must. Having someone help to hold parts in place until bolding down is a BIG help. These kind of exercise machines are HEAVY. Don't guess, follow the directions, EXACTLY which sometimes are nothing but a drawning depending on make/model.

  • This machine has a lot of parts. I'm not that handy when it comes to putting stuff together. So i guess my question is, how hard is it to assemble?

  • Hi

I am in the process of editing a video of me putting a multi system together. I will try and get it finished soon but I have been really busy lately.

I used to be an accountant so I wasn't that handy either but managed to put my first machine together with no problems.

If you get stuck just email me questions and I can help you, attaching pics of the problem area make it easier for me to tell you what to do.

    Thanks, Sam.

  • Any idea how much the bench press bar weighs by itself? 45lbs like a standard bar?

  • Hi

Talk about how much the bench press weighs always ends up in arguments with engineering equations. Because it is leverage the weight of the bar is largely supported by the leverage point.

You are best not comparing weight with free weights on this machine. It is totally different to training with free weights on this machine.

  • I bought this machine and would like to see more videos of all the different exercises you can do. Also do you know if there is a workout sheet that goes with this machine?

  • Um, I'm sure this machine is fine, but wouldn't you get a safe and more effective workout (engaging the stabilizer muscles, and all that) with a set of adjustable dumbbells and a flat bench?

Smaller footprint, lower cost, more effective. That's how Grimek and Sandow, did it. Free weights.

    Just askin'.

  • I think you would be surprised at what results can be achieved with these machines.

You get results through consistency with your diet and training. Some people don't like free weights and these machines have a great feel and are easy to train on.

Personally I like a combination of both dumbbells and the leverage machines.

  • hi sam,

could you recommend powertec mashines for serious bodybuilding? in addition to some dumbbells? is it possible to build a physique like yours with it?

    thanks

  • Hi buddy

Brad is the guy in the video and he trains on the Powertec Multi System. So you can do serious bodybuilding on these machines.

I have also set one up for Lee Priest and should have some videos of him soon.

    Thanks, Sam.

  • Im geting ready to buy this system.

  • Hi

I will hopefully do some more filming soon so there will be even more tips for you when you get it.

    Thanks, Sam.

  • it's a great system! enjoy :) just got mine last month!
