This lenses? most of it is in the sensor, right? this sensor i probably around 4x3mm. that's like all compact digital cameras. my cheap DSLR with DX sensor is 25mm wide. the expenive DSLRs with FX sensor has 35mm wide sensor and the 60 mpix hasselblad has 6x6 CM! so i don't think the lens is the biggest problem in this kind of cameras ;)

it's a good quality camera....no doubt. When you're panning there is no lag what so ever....an no pixelation...being a VGA 30fps it's something that you can actually use to record good video for FB or Youtube.....I think they did a good job with that....I had an HTC fuze and the video recorder was crap! Most out there are 15fps which will produce choppy low quality video....bravo apple!

I can clearly see that video is NOT one of the iphone 3GS's strong points. I have a Nokia N96 which is probably the worst phone that Nokia has ever produced yet the video quality is way better than this and the N96's camera spec is nowhere near the top camera phone hit list.

hey jon, I'm debating on getting the 32 gig or the 16 gig 3gs, so my question is:

I will be taking a lot of videos on the camcorder, do you think it will eat up hard drive space quick? (Right now I have 9 gigs filled on my 16 gig 3g).

i say you get the 32 GB because video takes up sooooo much space, well like in camera it does, but just to be safe, i would get a 32GB.

i would say get the 16, becuase the 32 is a bit of a waste in your case. you have 7 gigs left on your 3g, so this should be fine, plus when you take these videos you can upload them to youtube or you can put them on your computer, so unless you will never use a computer to sync your iphone after activation, you should get the 16 :)
