I love this one looks awsum az coming from a Maori'' and they done the haka quite well hope they know what they it meanz -- and awsum coming from across the nation world widee
seriously,, what's the point of showing aggression in an a so completely non-contact sport,, i mean, there's fucking net between the teams. this just looks a million times better when performed by rugby players
Its okay for people to do the haka. As long as they do it properly!!! The haka is supose to shown aggression, and show the power of the MAN!! If you don't know what you are saying, or are pronouncing the words wrong. instead of saying strong and witty, wrong prnounceation could make it weak and pathetic, in that case your men will get eaten alive, In Maori history!
IF YOU WANNA LEARN, COME TO NZ AND ASK!!! DON"T COPY THESE PATHETIC ATTEMPTS! LEARN WHAT YOUR GETTING ANGRY ABOUT!!!
Yeah, c'mon New Mexico State, BYU and all those high schools in Texas that are so deep in the Polynesian culture, come up with your own shit. It's too bad these uptight kiwis do not realize the importance of educating the world on the uniqueness of their song and dance, they would much rather criticize and hate, than educate. BTW, did you see the haka on MTV's real world/road rules challenge. Where is the protests for that one..hypocrites.
its not that you's guys a doing the haka, its the fact that you's guys are doing the same exact haka, if people want to learn and do the haka you need to learn and produce your own version, in New Zealand there a many types and styles of haka not just 1 or 2 that the All blacks do, there are many but each one is made especially for that group, and every group is different, it tells a story about that group, it should be natural for your polynesian's to make your own version and they know it!
From what I understand, one of the members of the All Blacks was either a friend or related to a member of the Hawaii football team, and taught the Haka to them. Last year, Hawaii did change the dance to a more Hawaiian type called the Ha'a. As far as difference in dance, its the same for songs, my high school had a different song in Hawaiian for each class based on the uniqueness of the class, so I know where you are coming from in regards to the uniqueness of the dance.
theres nothing like having your own haka, it is more intimidating when you do bring it, the opposing teams are more in shock and if the oppostion were smart they will contest with there own haka, the best thing about having your own haka is your team story/ journey and input of constructing a haka, you need a proper guild who knows the language, history, and protocols but really the skies the limit
Wel az we ol cn c dat different cultures hav different wayz of performing the Haka!, Tru the kiwis hav portrayed dat pride, But with ol do respect other cultures like Hawaii hav other forms of Haka, and i personally think that theaz is Awsume for a change!,,,
It's all good that the Nesian culture is being represented the World over. It would be good if the people who were trying to represent these cultures did not disrespect it by prounoucing the words incorrectly and just doing something like the haka or hula for the hell of it, because it looks cool. There is alot of mana(pride)that the indigenous people have when they perform there cultural items, just look at the All Blacks(they are a melting pot of the Pacific) The perform the Haka with Pride
The Polynesian Culture is bigger than any specific island within Polynesia. Please don't overlook what's really happening here. Whether it's our brothers from NZ or HI, Tonga, Samoa, etc...Polynesia is being represented to the world. It doesn't matter who delivers the message, as long as the message is being delivered. PolyLove to all.
Hodgey1989...just goes to show how little you know about Hawaiian and Maori culture otherwise you wouldn't have made that ignorant remark. And before you try to diss me, I'm Hawaiian AND live in NZ...
the guys jus did the haka for the wahine because it was senior night or something like that..they doin it for them..if u wanna see them check out the videos of the football team...get a life
WTF are they doing? That was SO WHACK! What kind of jacked up haka was that?? That was not from New Zealand and it was a lame attempt at trying to be Maori. TRY HARDER!!!

The team that this haka was written for doesn't wear helmets or 200 lbs. of protective gear so who's from Brokeback Mountain?
I wish the "Warriors" would leave the cheers to the cheerleaders!
